Can't come now :-( I'm not happy about this. Hope all of you have a wonderful time! Wish I could finally see Cincy and meet many of you. Hopefully I can get out to Columbus or Cleveland meet.

^ Hey, thanks! Not all over... the color ones was just a matter of crossing over to the North Side, via the Point, to where PNC Park is, and crossing over the bridge back into the Triangle. The b&w ones were mainly from the top of Mt. Washington, where the lookout platforms are. For a couple, I stopped along a (very steep) road above the South Side, en route to Mt. Washington.

Just from what I saw, Detroit wasn't "scary." There are plenty of bombed-out neighborhoods here in Pittsburgh, and every other big city. For those who think it's a bad place - why?

Real nice pics. I have yet to visit Cincy, but just from pictures, I can't believe how similar it looks to Pittsburgh (or rather, how similar Pittsburgh looks to Cincy) :)

Clearly it was just a movie; I see no reason why we shouldn't continue to build scrapers - and build them higher. Yes, disasters can happen, but they are few and far between, compared to the zillions of skyscrapers that exist in the world. Even incidents like the Shirtwaist tragedy may have had other factors (some believe that building owners purposely locked the exit doors because they felt many of the sweatshop workers were 'stealing' from the factory). The Towering Inferno is a great film, IMO... 70s cinema at its best! :)

Because we're earthy people? Actually, since brown is a mixture of red, blue and yellow, brown is a very stabilizing color. Stabilizing - like a keystone. And Pennsylavnia is The Keystone State! :-D
