Ohio City and Regional Brands Penetrating Other Markets
As stated above they are in the Wallmart plaza on Warrensville. There are currently at least 7 in the Cleveland area. Anybody I have ever talked to seems to only go there for their cheesesteak. David. Another Cleveland sandwich place is Dave's Cosmic Subs. They have expanded to places like Atlanta and such. They have locations on the east side at Coventry, Chagrin Falls, University Hts (John Carroll) etc. Ok, but they have gotten more skimpy on meats as they have grown. Tommy's on Coventry has plenty of veggy options.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
NuCLEus project draws a few questions, little debate from Cleveland school board CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland school board started considering Tuesday whether to grant a tax deal to developers of the proposed downtown nuCLEus tower, but board members offered few clues as to how they might vote in two weeks. The board spent about an hour hearing details of the deal from district CEO Eric Gordon - almost all of it matching what he presented to the public at eight community meetings about the project. The board also heard a summary of resident feedback on the proposal, with 58 percent of the 209 who filled out a survey backing the deal, and 40 percent opposing it. About two percent were undecided. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2017/08/nucleus_project_draws_a_few_qu.html#incart_river_home

Didn't the FDIC basically wipe out/shut down Amtrust/Ohio-Savings prior to NYCB doing their thing?

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
Being a 27 year old with close friends living in Detroit Shoreway, Ohio City, Tremont, Downtown, etc. do not sleep on Madelone garnering significant support from millenials in these areas. I think this election will be like a brick sidewalk.. certain "bricks" of the city will be taken out by Johnson, Reed, and Madelone, but Jackson will be the sandy-mix that fills in all of the spaces between those bricks and will win easily. Doesn't anybody think Brandon can do anything? I don't really think he can win, but certainly has some support? Naw, I doubt one voter in ten has heard of him. That's Tony's issue too and while it's beatable, either would have needed to start long ago. I'm actually undecided, Madalone or Johnson most likely, possibly Reed. Polensek hasn't endorsed yet AFAIK, but just about all the other Councilmen back Jackson I know Brandon is popular and backed in Shaker since they are his biggest donors and supporters, but that doesn't do him much good in Cleveland.

Good to hear there was such a good turnout. I wasn't able to get out of work in time, but had my questions prepared to put Peter on the spot and everything. Hopefully others were able to.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Listings don't = vacant units. If someone isn't able to renew their lease for whatever reason that unit will be listed. Doesn't mean it is sitting empty, it means the next rent cycle for it will need to switch from one renter to a new renter. That's hardly a sign of a problem. The only possible way to not have this would be if 100% of your renters never left which isn't realistic. Unless someone can show that these have always been vacant this isn't a sign of anything other than turnover. When you are down there at night many of them appear to be empty, but that seems hard to believe considering the demand for downtown, but I guess it could be the price point.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Exactly. It would be a total waste to locate that much office space here. It should be more concentrated in the core not spread all about to create even more islands downtown.

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
Bingo. Over the years when I lived in other places, I cant tell you how many people I met that had mixed impressions of Cleveland because this is the route that they took to the Clinic, University Circle, CASE etc. and the way that most map programs give you to get there. Mixed because they had the good experiences of the institutions, but they couldn't get that awful drive out of their heads.

Cleveland: Shaker Square: Development and News
No one in Shaker seems to actually go to Shaker Square. Maybe for the farmer's market; that's about it. It doesn't even seem as though Shaker parents allow their teen age kids to hang out or take the rapid there. I know it's technically in Cleveland but it's closer to a lot of Shakerites than the shopping centers on Chagrin are. Me and all of my neighbors are regulars at Edwin's, and also regularly patronize Fire, Sasa and other restaurants there. I think many parent have mixed feelings about their kids going there unattended as there has been issues with crime, especially after hours (why YOURS TRUELY started closing much earlier a while back, as their employees were being robbed regularly while leaving work). The CVS space used to be a Joseph Beths bookstore before it moved to Legacy and closed there. I hated seeing it change to a CVS, but it is useful for many.

How can he be that far away from 3,000? I would have thought that would have been easy for him considering all the events they have been at, and all the folks in those neighborhoods that share his qualities.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
To late, Frank Jackson is already putting it in place. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2017/06/cleveland_mayor_frank_jackson_39.html Yeah he is putting it in place at the city employee level. What a dumb ass.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
Yeah I like Tony too, but I have to agree with the Scene article, and with his skinny jeans he may have a hard time connecting with the non-Detroit Shoreway/Ohio City/Tremont population of the city. Argh Johnson supports a citywide $15 minimum wage though....
