Bump! Theres still 9 days to vote!

Cleveland: MOCA
Thats right, they are pretty much strictly an exhibitions space, although Im kinda surprised they would limit themselves as such with people like Toby Lewis and important collectors such as Peter Lewis and Progressive in the area (well sort of). Especially given that Peter has put up so much funding for other contempory art museums, it seems like it should have been a natural fit here.

Well I remember thinking that I didnt recall there being anything wrong with the plaza before. In fact I thought that they always had nice plantings in the summer. It would be a shame if they switched that out for concrete.

They're both doing well though (for Cleve. in this period of time). We just thought that Coltman was a superior product. The one we liked most (it was a bit unique from the others) sold within a week of when we were looking at it.. I dont think either will suffer in that area with so much going on.

Steve Popovich would turn over in his grave! He had offices in the building a few years back. Thus why I said that..............

I was wondering when we would hear something more about this, it seems like its been dragging on forever! That would certainly be great news for Mansfield, especially in the wake of another plant closing (yesterday), Shilo co.

Denzel had another commitment. He's the only other black actor that Hollywood can choose from (I mean, other than Chris Tucker, right?) /Sarc Tyler Perry is cast in the role. Denzel had another commitment. He's the only other black actor that Hollywood can choose from (I mean, other than Chris Tucker, right?) /Sarc Tyler Perry is cast in the role. Does Tyler Perry actually have any acting talent? I only know of him in roles doing drag, and producing black sitcoms that really arent very funny (but I guess they fill a niche?)

You'd think that would have been a given (by the nominator), but I guess one cant assume..... I submitted it for inclusion in Cool Cleveland, but it must not have been received in time (since it wasnt in there) Hopefully next week.

Well, when I met Bob Brown at a City Club event (which is fantastic by the way, the speakers are very interesting, and its a great way to network) we discussed how he got into urban planning. He told me that what first sent him down the path was "The Death and Life of Great American Cities", something we have in common (myself still being an undergraduate but nevertheless) Interesting that Bob forgot what the book was about... The process to designate the Detroit Theatre as a Landmark should have begun as soon as there was a wisper of this months ago. Maybe somebody/the group should contact the Cleveland Restoration Society for guidance here. How much are they asking for the building?

Heres the story from the Cleve.com Lakewood residents express concerns about potential McDonald's move to Detroit Theatre property Published: Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 9:25 PM Updated: Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 9:33 PM City administrators made it clear that the site is privately owned, has been for sale for years and is zoned for commercial use. They also made it clear that if McDonald's wants the property, they can not prevent them from acquiring it. "That's not the role of (City) Council or the administration in this instance," said Law Director and former Ward 1 councilmember Kevin Butler. http://www.cleveland.com/sunpostherald/index.ssf/2011/06/lakewood_residents_express_con.html

I have a feeling that the people that would be doing the boycotting are not really the people that patronize McDonalds anyways.

Also, the agreement allows slots at the racetracks. I guess that would be Thistledown in Cleveland, and I think allows the others to be moved to less (ha) gambling saturated areas (Youngstown and Dayton) to operate slots at those.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Mr. Masek, are you able to address MTS question: "My question to Jerry is, What is the hierarchy of RTAs stations? Is there a station manager for each station or a Red Line Manager that handles things at the station level. Is there is a station manager for each station, is there contact information for him/her at each station so that riding public can contact them or RTA via the website."
