Yeah Weiss is good buddy's with Stark, which is why they should have been a shoe-in for the Warehouse district. Damnit its not too late.... Everybody should be scrambling to resurrect this, since apparently ntohing is in stone yet (City, Bob, Everyone... Hello!)

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
Already a response from Mr. Brown: Dear Mr. Mxxxxxx: Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us on this matter. As you know, Cleveland has a rich collection of historic buildings and districts throughout the city and has worked hard and successfully to preserve and re-use these historically and architecturally significant buildings. We recognize that our historic architecture is a key competitive advantage for Cleveland as we strive to retain and attract residents and businesses. I can ensure you that we will strictly assess the merits of any new development proposed on this block versus the prospects for preserving the two remaining historically significant buildings. Robert N. Brown, Director Cleveland City Planning Commission 601 Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114 [email protected]

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
Thats what I think too. It really is expected to be "The Avengers", and likely the budget is just for the Cleveland portion.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
That doesnt really make any sense since it was already announced it would be a Kimpton brand when the above article came out saying "Cleveland is not the market for a regular Kimpton, but maybe would work for a new lower grade brand that they were only in the early stages of developing..." It doesnt seem like they would have commited so early on based on a concept they were only in the early stages of planning..

Burnham, I think only DC is getting granite curbs these days.... everyone else has regretably had to value engineer them out of the budget. :|

Cleveland: TV / Film Industry News
Interesting to note, that supposedly the movie backed out of Michigan because they did away with their tax credits... Now that Kasich is bragging about possibly landing this for Cleveland/Ohio, I also heard that Ohio is thnking about doing away with the credits (due to the states bbudget issues)..

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
Yeah, but if you look at many of those initiaves, they were born out of reaching bottom (some of the worst schools neighborhoods etc.... ), it wasnt really thought about much while it was happening (Cleveland was resting on its past laurals for too long), it just kept deteriorating till it reached the point where it is now. There are many innovative ideas that are happening now as a result of "things must change for the region to remain viable", and some of the creative minds that are still part of the region, but it pretty much took hitting bottom to change the mentality.

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
That can equally be a problem here. There are several people on this board that are guilty of being the opposite of anti-Cleveland to a point that they cant see when there are issues in there own neighborhood (defensive to the point of seeming to be in denial). You can love your city and be positive, but if you dont acknowledge when there are "issues" then its not likely that they are going to be dealt with. Next thing you know things are different, and its too late to do anything about it. This is pretty much the story of Cleveland's decline...

Cleveland: NASA Glenn Research Center News & Info
Keep in mind, this is only Obama's proposed budget. The House version of the budget is quite different, and isnt quite so generous to NASA (althought its not broken down by location). We can keep our fingers crossed that in the end, NASA Glenn at least fares better then some of the others....

Maybe a return email when somebody sends several like the person that started this thread.... Id say poor management (lacking common courtesy to say the least)... Since then I’ve left 3 messages and sent 2 emails to see if they had any availability but no one has bothered to call back.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
This was on Huffington Post yesterday. It could have gone in a few places, and its talking about the midwest, but sort of focuses on Cleveland. I thought it was both inspiring and optimistic. I noticed afterward that it was written by the head of Jumpstart, but still a nice read (and nice publicity)... Will The Midwest Become The Next Silicon Valley? Surprising as it might be, Ohio is one of several states in the Midwest where successful entrepreneurial companies are charting the way for a new economy and demonstrating that high-growth entrepreneurship can happen anywhere when a region plays on its existing strengths. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ray-leach/is-midwest-us-the-next-si_b_820032.html

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Ive only gone for brunch... Waffles are great..... Some people refuse to go to Lucky's (on principle) because they say its pricey. Not as much brunch, but I guess some of the sandwiches are like $16.00...?

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Yeah, big fan of Vine and Bean, Heather Haviland's other place. Theres nothing there that isnt home made (including the soda, ketchup, granola, bread and baked goods, whipped cream etc.) and local. Not ususally as crowded as Lucky's but all of the quality and.. yeah prices...

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
"I kinda like the idea of a 24 hour Cleveland. Just my thoughts." Yeah, but it sounds kinda goofy the way its worded here as if Frank coined the term "24 hour city". Please expain further Frank, Im not sure people understand what you mean....... :| "This investment in this location will transform Cleveland into what I call the 24-hour city," Jackson said"
