  1. Curious to see what becomes of this. Interestingly it shows 13051 Larchmere Hospitality as incorporating in the middle of June, while the Larchmere Tavern hadn't announced it was closing till sometime in August.
  2. the article mentions it, copied below. hopes are by the time this would open, occupancy rates would have mostly recovered. “A report Downtown Cleveland Alliance put out in August said that 48% of hotel rooms in the city’s central business district were occupied between April and June of this year. That’s an improvement from earlier in the pandemic, but much lower than before the virus in the fourth quarter of 2019, when 78.8% of rooms were filled.”
  3. Article in Cle.com. First i have seen it mentioned about the Galleria (although there is already a parking garage under and gym present) It also plans to renovate the adjacent 130,000-square-foot Galleria by turning it into a “lifestyle center,” complete with a spa and gym, according to the release. A heated parking garage will go underneath it. https://www.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2021/09/downtown-clevelands-tower-at-erieview-to-be-home-to-new-high-end-w-hotel-first-in-ohio.html
  4. lets just hope he wont be speaking.
  5. Theres an article in architectural Digest about this home as well. A second home on the adjoining property is also featured. This is all on the property next to the Lerner mansion, the largest house in Cuyahoga County. https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/ad100-peter-pennoyer-architects-and-reed-hilderbrand-craft-an-art-filled-oasis/amp https://www.architecturaldigest.com/story/inside-a-strikingly-majestic-family-home-in-ohio/amp
  6. Agree. hate to see such a unique space treated that way. K&D makes me cringe the majority of the time. Those arched windows are killer. Correction: Actually, i believe this is Millennia and not K&D. K&D is next door.
  7. they actually proposed a valet for Cedar Lee if the parking becomes an issue, but the same anti folks are arguing that an elderly person on a fixed income won’t be able to afford that.
  8. the gist of my response
  9. That’s looks great Dave. That’s certainly the least blobby interpretation I have seen and reinforces that it needs a clean exterior skin on it.
  10. Columbus is more expensive…. Look it up, the cost of living in Columbus is in some categories, significantly more than Cleveland’s. Housing alone (the median housing price in Columbus is 66% more than in Cleveland). These costs trail the local economy. This is what we talk about when we say this should be a draw for Cleveland. we moved back to Cleveland because we were able to buy a mansion in Shaker that we shouldn’t have been able to afford, and wouldn’t have been able to afford in Columbus, and certainly not DC.
  11. That’s what was trying to get at with “lack of cohesion”. Exterior material selection will be key here. I’m not even clear about the pitches of the angles at the top as they seem to vary in each section (and maybe they are not even clear). Also, a little more height would help with the sense of bulkiness.
  12. It already looks bulky and clunky and seems to lacks a sense of cohesion. Hopefully they can do a treatment that helps with this.
  13. The tenants had mentioned this last year. Was waiting for it to be announced. my understanding was it would be in the empty ground level space at the corner of Warrensville and Farnsleigh.
  14. Too bad they already built the set back Marc’s plaza. How do you undo that damage in the midst of a fairly walkable area?
  15. Agree Believeland. I went to City in Beachwood semi regularly, but will now avoid them as I don't feel they deserve my business.
  16. Also agree. I have been countering like crazy, but the idiots do t give up, even though they are clueless. I have noticed a number of other UO worthy responses. Nice job.
  17. Convenient to UC yes, but so is Hough and Fairfax.
  18. It’s definitely a weird spot. The end unit is right on the road. That road as well as MLK crossing is a free for all most times. Friend around the bend had constant crashes on his property, then people running and abandoning the cars. Will likely be good for U Circle employees and hospital residents though as it is a convenient spot.
  19. Supposedly the former TRW headquarters (most recently CCF) recently sold.
  20. But there aren’t as many clicks with that.
  21. Funny, that’s what I was thinking when I read that. It’s easy to put a sign like that up when you know your neighborhood is out priced for the majority of the population. Makes me think of all the neighbors in Shaker that have BLM signs. Most moved from surrounding areas that were getting too.... diverse. BTW, it was those prices in that and the surrounding DC neighborhoods that had us choosing Shaker heights.
  22. Yeah I know. But I had heard the developer interested in the square was also interested in this strip of land to develop as well. The current owner of the strip doesn’t really have what it takes to get it done.
  23. New owner of the square? I’ve been hoping as this spot is pivotal. I have a couple ideas but holding out to see how things pan out
  24. Why are concerns about shadows a LOL? While I love the people this would bring to the area, this does seem like an island the way this is proposed and out of context for this spot (if only some of this height could have been added within VAD). It doesn’t seem like it engages the street well and there is so much open pavement that would exist between this and the bank. would much rather see something lower and wider that doesn’t have so much pavement to the east. This is an example of something being planned specifically to cater to the transformational tax credit first and foremost.
