Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
someone rich…. like maybe Dan Gilbert/ Bedrock? I hate to lose more of our industrial culture with seemingly no plan.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Maybe a little of topic, but I rode my bike through OC today and was just amazed by all the new housing. The neighborhood is not new to me (I used to work over there) but the way the new architecture fit in really well (for the most part) with these beautiful victorian mansions and old storefronts. It’s truly just such a special and charming place in Cleveland. Definitely more “high end” than anywhere else outside of University Circle, which I know is controversial, but it really is beautiful. Housing prices are at all time highs as more and more people want to live there and adjacent. It’s even more crazy how there’s still many untapped gems and vacant land nearby this area that can further lead to Cleveland’s revitalization!

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Watterson Lake is an extremely ambitious project that would be one of the best LIHTC projects we’ve seen in awhile if built. Unfortunately they had to juggle neighbors, councilpeople, and city board expectations which all differed greatly and put even more strain on the project.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
instead of large apt block buildings i wish this was more the model for the peninsula — the cul de sac development in tempe, az — have a tour: This would be awesome. I really wonder how they financed the project, given that banks love their parking. Unfortunately SP doesn’t have any transit options (although the W 25 redline station is close) so it’s a walk bike or drive situation.

Cleveland: Shaker Square: Development and News
I feel like long term the best thing for Shaker Square is to be controlled by the community, either owned by BBC or CNP in some form. I have to give credit to the work they’ve done there since taking over. My fear with a private owner is the situation it was in before the purchase.

Is 3614 Euclid (former hotel) project still dormant? Creepy looking building to have vacant, really kinda a blight to the corridor.

Cleveland: West Park / Kamms Corners: Development and News
Reviving this thread after a while… the old Newton D Baker site is closing as part of CMSD’s school closures. That’s a pretty big parcel that could be redeveloped in the heart of the Kamms neighborhood where houses are selling from 250-350k. Combine that with the vacant Ken Ganley Dealership on Lorain and you’re looking at close to 9 acres. That’s a real opportunity to add new housing and amenities in Kamms.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
This might be the biggest win in a long time, in terms of design and value-add to the area, if it is built.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
I mean, in a city as poor as Cleveland I guess deferred maintenance catches up with you. If we have to chose whether to keep an obsolete bridge (admittedly very cool) or our actual bridges functioning, i’d choose the latter.
