  1. Just did a loop around Beech, morse, harrison, beech to 161 and the construction is just incredible. Intel still had at least 10 cranes that i could count while driving and active construction. Has anybody seen anything definitive on how the delays will impact construction? Is it just a slower pace? Its hard to tell what a ton of the buildings on Beech and Morse are specifically but Amgen is well underway. Multiple data centers as well. Its certainly an impressive area and makes me excited for the continued growth. Hopefully we see some movement at Anduril in the fall. Gonna have to take a trip down there when they get moving.
  2. Exactly its just sloppy. Its copy and paste stuff honestly. I can’t speak to alot of their articles in fields I don’t work in. But when it comes to aviation they consistently show me they have no idea what theyre talking about. Therefore i question their reporting. Just blanketing a statement like fewer flights from CMH with no context is horrible reporting. If Delta decided to use 3 A330’s a day from CMH to ATL instead of 8 737’s it would be less flights but the seat count would remain the same. Not that they would ever use widebodies on the route but you get the picture. Its misleading information at best. But thats journalism these days. Clickbait headlines.
  3. Bizjournals has gotten really sloppy with reporting. I refuse to pay for them. The whole article implies negativity yet i see no mention of why. Spirit trimmed LAX,BOS, EWR. While they were re structuring. However they are restarting service this fall which is interesting. But that really tells me It wasnt a reflection on CMH as much as Spirit was a mess. SWA starts San Diego four times weekly as well. CMH is growing and adding flights. Numbers of flights also is not a great metric when airlines up gauge equipment types. We are looking for sustained passenger growth.
  4. When is the next downtown commission meeting?
  5. I’m not getting into all that haha. I just wanted to pick his brain about Intel/Anduril. Asked him about jobsohio attracting international flights to Europe from CMH. But that doesn’t belong in this thread i don’t wanna get too off topic.
  6. you’re probably right! I just like the height. This probably has zero chance at current render. But i’ll just say its positive we’ve got developers looking vertical.
  7. Saw Governor DeWine at the airport today. Chatted with him about Anduril/Intel. I don’t want to put words in his mouth but something along the lines of whether its Intel or not that runs it the plant, its vital and it is getting built. Basically said don’t overthink it. Its already in progress. Gave me some confidence. He said the Anduril stuff is a huge deal. Really open and easy to talk to. Could tell he was excited about the work JobsOhio is doing. I asked him if we had anything else big in the pipeline and he just smiled and said not that he could say. just a casual 5 minute convo. But i was glad he took a few minutes!
  8. The parking levels are hideous lol. I agree with pretty much everyone on that. However being tucked away it saves face a little? The height is good. promising to see these developments go vertical. Maybe they’ll get beat up by the commission a little bit? The renderings of inside/alley ways look awesome though.
  9. This project is so huge for the area. I wonder what kind of spin offs /suppliers end up around here as well.
  10. Any updates on this? Shouldn’t we be hearing back with design updates soon?
  11. It seems like Intel is at a fork in the road with their 18A process. If that proves successful i would have a lot more faith in them operating the fabs. However, if that doesn’t come to fruition then i would be rooting for them to complete as much work on site as they possibly could. I’m sure we’re not the only ones with eyes on the project. Potentially getting a deal on a FAB/FABs site with existing permits, tax abatements, and a community prepared to welcome it has to catch the eye of a prospective buyer. Half the battle with these mega projects is getting through the red tape.
  12. You have to remember that the name of the game in the airline industry is “up gauging “ AA, Delta, United have all ordered combinations of A321NEO, Max8/9/10, 76 seat RJs. They would rather optimize their space than incur additional cost per operation. however CMH is slightly unique in the fact that we are a MX station for Republic and Envoy. We have an over abundance of service with RJ’s to the main hub stations to get those aircraft into the system. If you go on flightradar24 and track a Republic plane youll see what im talking about. leave CMH-PHL-BTV-PHL-LGA-CMH style routings, or it could play out over 3 days to return for MX. the rotation is constantly happening. If we didn’t have the MX hub youd see more mainline to ORD/LGA/PHL/JFK etc. as long as there is plenty of ramp space they can optimize by towing planes off gates. Pretty common at larger airports. 36 gates will be plenty, AA can utilize our gates better because the regional bridge on the B gates is only suitable for CRJ/ERJ aircraft right now. Remember those 36 gates will be capable of handling larger aircraft and not limited.
  13. I actually enjoy the fact that its quiet and boring. however i am hopeful for a few more restaurants and shops downtown. pretty lucky with my job i travel 4 days a week usually and its actually incredibly nice to come home to quiet and boring. 20 minutes from LDC/Nationwide arena/Ohio stadium. Im good to go lol.
  14. Did AC get incentives to maintain the service to YYZ and seasonal YUL? i’ve asked multiple sources why CMH,CLE, IND got the seasonal axe and nobody has an answer.
