  1. It's there now so I'm not sure what you mean.
  2. It appears Kaiker has put a new steeple and roof on the old German Reform Church at Hulbert and Freeman.
  3. It went to build a bridge in Steubenville. It was required to be spent on infrastructure. I think it was a political move as Kasich knew he wouldn't be getting the vote from Cincinnati.
  4. I worry that projects like this are doomed to fail the moment the building looks dated. Which won't be long. I hope I'm wrong tho. But beyond convenience there doesn't seem to be much going for it.
  5. I don't see a Skywalk here being the end of the world.
  6. Alright maybe not the worst spot but you would have to drop in up north, if you do so at this spot you'll have to fight the current or you'll just immediately start drifting south and away from downtown rather quickly. The Ohio is also just much more dangerous the smaller rivers. I didn't say not to build it but I doubt it will see anywhere near the use that the other rivers do.
  7. Aside from perhaps the views of downtown (which you can get from land) its an absolute garbage place to kayak anyway. We have the 3 Miami rivers for that and they are wonderful.
  8. Is this in reference to that bizarre Memphis Group wannabe looking piece of crap at Liberty and Vine?
  9. Isn't this example the complete opposite of what the Bengals want in their new design? Frankly I don't see what is wrong with the road and I don't see why it would be necessary to have a park run all the way to Longworth Hall. I love me some green space but maybe a nice riverside bike trail connecting the new lots to Smale would be sufficient. Could even work as parking for Reds games. Then just walk to The Banks.
  10. From what I saw on the news last night it sounded like the county didn't want it to be funded by the taxpayers. I'm not sure what their plan is however.
  11. Saying no to this is ridiculous. A hotel could only bring business to the area. I think it's a fantastic idea. What would be the downside? I'm sure it's not going to be a cheap place.
  12. I think you mean the Fountain District.
  13. I love that building. The color shift is awesome.
  14. I don't think hassle should be a reason to not have a huge event like this come to the city. I think it would be great exposure. Especially showing street level Cincinnati on national TV.
  15. I'm glad for Cov but that looks like an elementary school.
  16. I'm not saying there wasn't anything there. Just that there are more potential places for business than there were in the past. UPA and U square have added a ton of retail space to those streets. Tho I do lament the loss of some of those old businesses that were there in the past. Short Vine as well seems to only have improved in the past 20 years.
  17. yeah but this is perfection. Its a beautiful building withlut the signage.
  18. Let's not start talking facts here, we may get distracted from the narrative.
  19. Are we also forgetting that it wasn't that long ago that U Square and UPA didn't exist? There was a time when, what is now many businesses, was either nothing, or a Hardee's and McDonald's. There were some places lost like Inn The Wood but all in all the area is much busier than in the past.
  20. Does anyone else not care if a grocery store is "fun" or not? I'm there to get a pork loin and cat litter and get on with my life.
