A pool hall probably isn't viable due to the smoking ban. Several have closed since the ban (out in the suburbs at least) and I haven't seen any new ones open up.

Shame the UDF on Hartshorn isn't there any more. So glad it's been replaced by nothing.

That's interesting. Before Mediterranean House opened (that was the official name) the place was called Jerusalem Cafe. Never ate at Jerusalem Cafe but I think the food was similar to Mediterranean House. For those that were never there, Mediterranean House was a very cute little restaurant (probably about a dozen tables) that specialized in an all-the-time buffet. Very, very tasty and also included as much jasmin tea and turkish coffee as you want. The owner (and main employee, it seemed) was also very nice.

^^^^^ An IHOP in the area would be cool. We already have a Starbucks. I know Starbucks likes to build locations 2 blocks from each other but it seems kind of unnecessary. Oh boy, a bank! Additionally, there is already the Kingsgate Marriott which is never even close to full. Who needs another 138 hotel rooms?

While I am interested in what they have planned, I don't quite understand it. What do they mean by "reconnect Short Vine to Vine"? Vine St doesn't really stop...it becomes Jefferson for a short while. To connect Vine St and Short Vine at the Southern end, you would have to demolish University Plaza. The road would go right through there, unless some major realignment is involved.

warsaw303 replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentFALSE, Potbelly sucks. Both Jersey Mike's and Jimmy John's are better by miles. Potbelly is SLIGHTLY better than Subway. Oh, and FALSE....LaRosa's Montgomery Inn Topper is quite good. You're 0/2.

that place is PACKED every day since it has been opened. they basically have the monopoly on wing bars in clifton, there is none other that I know of. There used to be a great wing place right across the street from BW-3's on Calhoun. It was called Big Red's Sports Cafe. MUCH better wings than B-Dubs. It got torn down to make way for the nothing that currently sits there.

Ugh, this "condo" trend is really starting to get to me. $155,000 for a one-bedroom apartment?? Not to mention you'll likely pay condo fees on top of your mortgage! Why do people buy into this? I understand the developer's love of it. Sell a 1 bedroom that might go for $700/month for $155,000 and make your condo fees on top of it. I don't understand why buyer's buy into this. Unless you're going to live there for at least 8-10 years, you're probably better off renting.

CINCINNATI - Clifton Heights, featuring Fairview!
Uggh R-Club; but that was "urine" alley..always good to let it out before getting in line for Taco Hell Whats the name of the bar on the corner of McMillan and W. Clifton? Is it still there?...It was L shaped and tucked behine a building...there was a door on both McMillan and W. Clifton I think you're referring to Ripley's Alive. That hasn't been open in 6 years or more. On the McMillan entrance is where Red Pepper and something else is and on the W. Clifton entrance is where they put the Chipotle.

Good to see more businesses coming into that strip on Calhoun St. I hope it's completely full soon. However, I've still heard no news in months about the strip between Calhoun and McMillan. Hardee's and Arby's still sit and nothing is happening. I think it's a shame that this isn't covered more often. A huge deal to tear down all sorts of businesses and property and then the money runs out and nothing happens? Pro Tip: Behind the new Arby's there are a few parking spots for the McMillan Park leasing office. Feel free to park there for a short while...it's not as if anyone is ever in the leasing office.

Not the UDF closer to Ludlow, that's still there. The UDF on Hartshorn, right across from Inn The Wood. It was one of the first things to go, but perhaps it closed on its own? Not sure, they seemed to do great business.
