Columbus: Scioto Peninsula Developments and News
So far this is all dedicated parking garages. Seems to be just a little under half the space of the entire development.

Columbus: Downtown: Merchant Building
It is very spread out! I think a good shot would be from 670 near Abbott. Here's a shot from I believe ODOT showing just how spread out the skyline really is.

I really hope larger developments start around the Spring/Long Street area along Fourth Street. Add a few 20+ in that area and it will start to fill in nicely!

Just think, this was 3 years ago. Finishing up the Hilton Tower. I can't wait to see the Merchant Building make an impact on the skyline!

I was reading an article that Austin is having a very hard time filling their office space downtown.

How is it that we see high rises in places like Nashville, Charlotte, and Austin go up everywhere but we can't one single good design. I'm really excited for the Merchant Building being mostly glass because that will brighten the skyline up some. If we could add another 3 or 4, all glass high-rise buildings around downtown that would make the downtown area look more modern and fresh.

I would still like to see more renderings of this. Are we looking at the Broad Street Side? If so it's all parking garage!

So no push back from city council on the design. Why even have them honestly? These developments they are approving are a complete joke!

sono4315 replied to CMH_Downtown's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionNice to see three 4 story buildings rather than 2/3 story spread over several buildings. Sounds like it will be somewhat of a dense development for the area.

sono4315 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionFound this rendering of the 71 bridge caps. I really hope the Fourth Street bridge has been upgraded with some trees and planters. You can see the church for sale in the bottom right corner.

I just don't get why an architect would even come up with this design. It really falls back on the downtown commission for approving it!

Thanks! I had a friend who lived there and quite a few of the units at 223 Town were used as Airbnb.

What's the record of this developer even following through on large projects? Any other names of projects they have worked on?

sono4315 replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionWonder how hard it will be to maintain a large clock like the one in the rendering? Here's a shot so you can see it from interstate 71.

Is this the same developer that is working on the Gilbert?

Columbus: Downtown: Merchant Building
I went to the market tonight for dinner. There were only a handful of visitors walking around and alot of vendors on their phones waiting for customers. I really hope these vendors can hold out until this development is complete. They still have a few years to go. Hopefully, it was just a little slow because it's a Tuesday night and they are more busy on the weekend.
