I wish it was more of a straight street grid. It drives me nuts when these developers make the streets look like wet noodles!

They really aren't messing around! At this rate it will be ready for residents this summer.

I think it's going to be a mural painted as a clock. ;)

I wonder if the design or height has changed on the new apartment buildings? Is everything staying the same with the most current renderings?

Slowly making progress. They have started to install brickwork on the lower half of the building, also the black metal balcony railings are getting installed. I'm anxious to see the final product!

I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing it's the parking lot next to the YWCA. I believe that's the first phase of the new builds to start

It's pretty much a clean slate in that area and the city has to go and approve a car wash. There is the same exact car wash 2 exits up at Hudson and 71. Now I'm wondering what will happen to the empty Church's chicken and the demolished Wendy's.

I drove through Milo-Grogan this evening and while it's not much to look at, it was one of the very few older structures left in the neighborhood. It is now completely demolished. (Location Cleveland Ave and 2nd Street). Also there is a sign up across from Auto Zone on 5th Ave for a newly constructed Moo Moo's car wash. I really had high hopes for this neighborhood to develop into an extension of Italian village. Adding a car wash on 5th probably isn't the best fit for a neighborhood the city is trying to revitalize.

You can only enter through the west doors now. The east doors that once went into the mens section of the store are permanently closed off.

I know Kohls said they would stay open but I wonder for how long with retail struggling really bad right now. It's always so empty when stop in.

This building would make really cool apartments or condos. Especially with the large arched windows at the top!

Snagged a picture today of work being done on the building that fronts Gay Street and Pearl.

Looks like I got them turned around. The one corner looks to be a bar on Broad Street from the plans.

Any new residential building being built in this prominent new area needs to at least have space for several retail/restaurant spaces. I mostly see the first floor being used for residents (lobby, workspace room/lounge, leading office) basically the entire north side faving Broad does nothing for pedestrians on the street level. The only corner I see with retail is on the south side corner for a coffee shop.

I still think the exterior of the building could be saved as being one of the ugliest buildings in downtown Columbus. Maybe if they did something on the black metal rails on the first floor parking garage like the painting at Fountain Square in Cincinnati. Also I'm screaming for a green wall of some kind against the black!

I didn't get a picture but they are remodeling the corner of the building at Gay and Pearl behind the French restaurant. Anyone know what their plan is?

"Current" is back up in downtown at High and Gay Street. Taken today during a small rain storm.

I wonder if the apartments south of Lowes will ever be developed. I drove past and noticed a few more pieces of equipment on site.
