  1. Noticed the sign is up for Goodfellas Pizza in the long abandoned building at the south entrance of the Short North. I've been to the one in Lexington and it's pretty good! I like that you can buy just a slice and not a whole pie. They also had a really nice outdoor area so here's to hoping they utilize some of the small park between their restaurant and El Vequero. These are some of the photos from the Lexington locations Facebook. I don't own the rights to any of these photos.
  2. I live in one of the buildings on this block, I will say the same guy owns from the the Macaron Bar all the way around the corner to the row houses on Russell Street. That's a pretty large chunk of property to own in the Short North.
  3. Noticed today Happy Greek will be closing for good after more than 20 years in the Short North. Does anyone have any information on this? I can't read the article on Business First
  4. Now if we could real working trains on the streets of Columbus 😉
  5. Nice to see New city Homes step up to building new housing and filling in empty lots around Milo Grogan/Franklinton but can we please have a few different designs? Every home they build literally looks the same.
  6. If the Greyhound site is done right with Cota partnering with the city, this large parcel could really be transformational! 400+ apartments, retail, and transportation hub. That's another topic though
  7. Pleasee! This would be a good photo to use. I feel like it's in this vicinity 😅
  8. City Target would be awesome too but I could see that more at the Edwards project near the capital building.
  9. Hopeful they announce which independent grocery or chain will be taking up the first floor. Between this and the new building at the Peninsula we have a good chance of something really great to shop at! Adding a well known name would be a huge boost to downtown! Personally I would love to see Kroger or Trader Joe's but with two Krogers within a few miles each way that's probably not going to happen. I could see a whole Foods taking up home at the Peninsula. We will have to see.
  10. Not to mention the downtown commission bowed down to Ohio Health and approved permanently closing another city street, cutting off more of the downtown street grid.
  11. Grant Ave could definitely use a makeover through downtown. Buried wires, trees, planters, benches.
  12. Nice to see the infill, but are the new builds affordable housing? They seem pretty bland looking.
  13. Reminds me of the new builds going up in Lincoln Park, Chicago from the front view.
  14. I noticed the parking lot all around the buildings too. A bit strange looking.
  15. I think a mixed use hotel/condos/ retail would be prefect for the corner of Nationwide & Neil. Overlooking the ballpark and 1 block from the arena. All the new apartments/condos built in the district have zero retail space so the neighborhood definitely could use a pick me up!
  16. Right! I walked over to CVS to grab a few things and was checking out the new apartment building, I noticed the entire first floor of the apartment building is nothing but parking. The developer could easily have put a few retail storefronts in at the least! The parking lot is horrible :( they had one chance....
  17. Now let's fill in the gaps ;)
  18. I was reading somewhere the old streetcar is still inside and will go down with the ship. The historical society decided it was to expensive to move :(
  19. Notice they also did away with most of the balconies. Also the windows are completely different. These two things can play a huge role in the look of the finished project. Really had high hopes for this project.
  20. Storefronts starting to take shape. This has to be my favorite project being constructed right now downtown.
  21. This definitely does not match the renderings. I'm hoping the competed project will be somewhat better quality but it's looking like this is the final exterior facade. This whole time I thought the developer was using a light color brick.
  22. Continued construction on hotel at Hollywood casino.
