  1. We still hope that Ronayne is kicking the tires on AJC being an option for the new Courthouse. Whatever the flaws or needs to bring ACJ up to date - as long as it is below the estimated costs of $400-700 million of the existing proposals - it should be considered as a top contender - especially if the Feds will transfer it to the County: WHAT IS A PUBLIC BENEFIT CONVEYANCE (PBC)? A PBC allows the Federal Government to lease or transfer title of surplus property to qualified entities for public uses at a substantial discount (up to 100% of fair market value). The intent of a PBC is to support property uses that benefit the community as a whole.
  2. 🙂 Even ten60's brochure with its completed rendering shows Skyline still under construction - subtle marketing shade of the competition?
  3. Is Saunagoose a similar concept to SWTHX announced for the Intro building?
  4. Again no real new news from this I-team pair other than getting the HSG COO to say that State money is critical and repeated prior statements: “We’ve had conversation with the city of Cleveland,” Jenkins said. “I don’t think there is a path on renovation, those conversations are pretty much stalled.” Doesn't sound like the door is shut. Otherwise the I-team repackage their same HSG talking point propaganda intended to instill defeatism and overwhelm support for the lakefront. Bibb/Haslam need to step up their public campaign - surprised they have not put Roger Goodell on the record about abandoning the city again.
  5. We hope Bedrock was the interested buyer. No need to bulldoze another part of history - repurpose it for any uses as done with other decommissioned power plants such as in London and Barcelona: https://www.dezeen.com/2022/10/05/battersea-power-station-opens-wilkinson-eyre/ https://www.dezeen.com/2025/04/03/barcelona-power-tres-xemeneies-e-la-nave-va/ Notice they even put an elevator to an observation platform at the top of one of the smokestacks in London.
  6. We note how DC is providing roughly the same % as Cleveland offered (Washington team 2.5B and DC up to $850M) with the team acting as developer of surrounding development. Jimmy and Dee can have the same exact deal in the city only if they wanted to and weren't in an inexplicable rush to drop a cookie cutter already dated design into the Brookpark industrial zone. Jimmy and Dee if you are going to copy already built stadiums (Vikings) why not copy DC's early renderings which would easily work on our lakefront - both existing site and neighboring Burke land. Just open your minds as you did when you first proposed the lakefront redo and development. If not please sell the team now to someone who has the ability to bring it home:

    looks like Shaq too https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mma_ufc/shaq-comes-face-to-face-with-trump-shows-respect-in-epic-moment-at-ufc-314/ar-AA1CU64E
  8. We thought it was moving fast given the giant task. But does look like the delivery date has slipped from the original projection of FY25 Q2 to the end of the year: ... full-fledged construction commenced in early 2024, with an anticipated completion date in late 2025. https://turndev.com/future-cleveland-division-of-police-headquarters/
  9. Phase 1 is just in time to reinvigorate our amazing but tired looking landmark. We hope Phase 2 follows soon behind.
  10. We agree also. Let it play out! We like the energy and efforts these folks are putting into it. While we can attest to the ever growing popularity of the English Premier League, Women's soccer may be the next generation's big thing based on hearing anecdotally from those who say they follow daughters and grand-daughters soccer matches - many in youth soccer but also some at the college/club team level. May be a sleeping cash cow and tourist draw if done right.
  11. While we love the plans for the stadium south of Gateway and the Cavs/Bedrock super site, we are also intrigued by the idea of a 40-100 acre proposal for a HQ and practice facilities. Hopefully there is a plot of land in center city to accommodate it vs Notre Dame - South Euclid. Part of the future 450 acre Burke Lakefront Nature Preserve could be considered or even with the Gordon Park bluffs. Seems like a no-brainer to attract the growing soccer/sport tourism sector.
  12. Seems the PD's Leila Atassi (consultant or journalist?) continues to lead the pro-HSG media - while relying solely on HSG supplied data - and overlooking the recognized fact that all taxpayers are on the hook for over $1 Billion over 30-years. Here is an opposing view for some balance: https://ohiocapitaljournal.com/2025/04/15/browns-owners-gave-big-money-to-ohio-lawmakers-who-are-now-making-risky-bets-with-public-dollars/
  13. we will soon find out tonight:\https://clevelandmagazine.com/in-the-cle/news/articles/a-large-scale-permanent-light-show-will-transform-downtown-cleveland-nights Starting on April 16, the light show, which was created by both VLS and Destination Cleveland, will make a performance out of projections, lighting and music. Projections will transform buildings like Terminal Tower, Old Stone Church, Key Tower, 200 Public Square and the Cuyahoga County Court House into canvases for a dynamic, narrative 10-minute event at the top of every hour, complete with synced songs. (The other 50 minutes of the hour will showcase a more static version of mood lighting.) Illuminate CLE will run hourly from sundown until midnight. The installation is meant to provide evening entertainment to Downtowners, while also increasing lighting in a civically minded safety move.
  14. NASA Is a longshot but today is the deadline to propose agency relocations: https://wtop.com/government/2025/04/federal-agencies-face-monday-deadline-to-submit-plans-to-move-out-of-dc/

  16. Looks amazing but wondering how much is real vs AI? HugeMikshake what is your firsthand take on the promo video?
  17. We thought the financing was locked down? Patel said the project will also involve federal historic preservation tax credits. And he’s talking to city and county officials about local incentives to help finance the deal.
  18. especially if it was attached to Intro Phase 2. Since talk of Intro 2 seems to have ended, activating this building now is better than remaining vacant and boarded up.
  19. We wish Ronayne could get HSG to release their HKS initial renderings for the lakefront. Could it have been landmark worthy as they developed for Auckland, New Zealand? Their BP design already looks dated and cookie-cutter in comparison. Can you imagine this HKS design with a retractable roof dropped on our lakefront? What a win-win opportunity to unite and rally all behind in order to end the abuser/abused relationship that the Haslams have needlessly perpetrated on the City, County and taxpayers. https://www.hksinc.com/what-we-do/projects/auckland-stadium/
  20. Follow-up - the more we read the more interesting is seems. Hope Gilbert and Blitzer have Cleveland on the COSM to do list. Could be a good draw year round to add more foot traffic downtown even if only a few thousand per event based on this add we saw for WrestleMania: https://cosm.com/dallas/events/wwe_wrestlemania_41_gsc_2025_04_19
  21. If COSM is the current next thing we can guess Cleveland is due given that both Gilbert and Guardians' David Blitzer are investors - if not Bedrock Riverfront maybe NuCLEus site?
  22. Hopefully UCI, Case or Clinic can snatch up this rare and prime land. Could have a lot of uses given the large footprint - more Eds-Meds high-rises but this time should include some for-sale condos given the amazing post-card worthy front door views in all directions.
  23. We like the regional sales tax idea as a moonshot to address the regions serious needs but should go big via 0.50% regional tax increase with 0.25% earmarked toward transportation and sports (airport, transit, browns, soccer, etc.) and let each county decide how to allocate the other 0.25% specific to each county's needs (ex., social services safety net, courthouse, etc.,).
  24. We are glad Ronayne and Bibb continue to stay firm per their quotes in the teevee fox8 story: We are not sensing that the momentum is picking up for the Brook Park plan. We are sensing dissension in the ranks down in the state, which may lead this back downtown.” Ronayne said he won’t support any county funding to help pay for the Brook Park project. “Mayor Bibb appreciates the state lawmakers who are taking a stand against this $600 million taxpayer handout. We remain hopeful that other lawmakers will follow their lead and embrace this fiscally responsible mindset.” We still can't past the fact that these unknown downstate Rs are running our county public policy - the host county for this power grab - via this vote - disenfranchising local voters by totally disregarding the local elected city and county leaders such as Bibb and Ronayne. Shame!
  25. We are still waiting on the Senate submission and DeWine (but we know he will fold). The House statements do not pass laugh or smell tests such as this downstate R: "...said House Finance Chair Brian Stewart (R-Ashville). "And it's backed up by detailed financial metrics, under which the new tax revenue generated by this project will pay the cost of the bonds with no out-of-pocket expense for our taxpayers." Where are the independent financial analyses vs the make-believe HSG interns' PowerPoint to these gullible (or compromised?) Rs say they trust 100%?
