Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Good point! They don't seem to make friends easily even within their clubby good ole boys network. This will be a wild ride until resolved. First up: Look forward to what Mayor Bibb has in mind during the six-month window to find other buyers. The NFL has a glaring need for an African-American majority team ownership group of investors ASAP so why not the historic Browns franchise. Could be a window of oppirtunity to open. I am sure LeBron can scare up enough other minority investors to make an offer Roger Goodell and the other owners (and the media) could rally behind.

Should be interesting either way with top tier Jones Day on Cleveland's side this time. https://signalcleveland.org/cleveland-taps-jones-day-for-legal-fight-with-browns-over-modell-law/

Cleveland-Akron: Bicycling Developments and News
So true and how does this group have such juice to influence tree planting decisions on the transformational Superior Midway? Shouldn't that comment have been referred to and been subject to open community plannning meeting forums and not given such private access and outdsized importance? Who from this group and what city officials took this meeting? Was there green beer sertved at these closed door meetings? Hopefully the discussion on bikelane tree planing was preceded by in-depth discussions on broken sidewalks and potholes along that route. We admit we love their Irish chutzpah but come on man! The city could have used their strong-arm tactics on the Bridgeworks design project and maybe in the current negotiations with HSG. Speaking of Bridgeworks - the city should use this as an opportunity to move the Irish parade westward - such as to Detroit Ave either starting or ending at the new Irishtown Bend park - coupled with fundraising and a day of service next-door at the historically Irish immigtant serving St. Malachi - instead of just green beads and Irish beer.

He may have a small pied-a-tierre in the city? We have noticed he does a lot of teevee promo adds for his commercial real esate biz.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
This new vantage point rendering makes us wince once again at the missed opportunity to append this land to CLE (237 could either be capped to slightly diverted). If CLE owned this land it would be so easy to build the new facilities (like CMH) sooner without impacting existing operations at the sad airport (and presumed lower cost over a shorter construction term). If Jimmy and Dee truly cared about the future of Cleveland instead of their insincere virtue signaling press releases, they would recognize the importance of an new aiprot for Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, and instead sign over their puchase option to the City/County, stop their hostility and resume good faith negotiations for the lakefront or elsewhere in the city. They could instantly reshape their horrible public image and stop us from thinking they gamed this all out to provoke City/Cle and trigger a move out.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Beside the incomplete news story we can only assume there are few coincidences where Jimmy is concerned. We do find it interesting that the same firm is now on the other side of the equation based on the Bricker Graydon (Bricker & Eckler at time per internet) firm's work for Columbus to keep the Crew: Bricker & Eckler will provide pro bono legal counsel to the City of Columbus in its effort to keep Columbus Crew SC in Central Ohio. The city, in partnership with Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, filed a lawsuit in early March against Crew owner Anthony Precourt and Major League Soccer citing violations of what has become known as the “Modell Law,” the state’s effort to prevent the relocation of professional sports teams. “We are excited to team up with a local Columbus firm in this community-wide effort,” said city attorney Zach Klein. Their “talented team of attorneys will be an incredible resource to us in this fight.” Read more in the full Columbus Dispatch story. https://www.brickergraydon.com/insights/news/Bricker-Eckler-teams-up-with-city-joins-SaveTheCrew-movement

Wonder if Max Ratner's group in Shaker Heights knows by chance as they are probably the only Forest City family left in Cleveland (Van Aken District).

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Maybe RTA can recruit this guy from neighboring Laketran or recruit him on how to fix the really slow Healthline BRT. At least we have a local rising star on the bench for a future RTA opening. https://www.news-herald.com/2024/12/27/laketran-director-of-operations-honored-with-under-40-rising-star-award/?utm_email=55F674C1F42E940D24C5D553CD&lctg=55F674C1F42E940D24C5D553CD&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=https%3a%2f%2fwww.news-herald.com%2f2024%2f12%2f27%2flaketran-director-of-operations-honored-with-under-40-rising-star-award%2f&utm_campaign=ohio-lake-nl-your-morning-headlines&utm_content=curated Unitl the BRT can operate at a faster and reliable basis, just shut it down and turn it into a dedicated speedwalking track. It may become a thing here, especially with the young downtowners and the eds to meds crowd at the east end. Just kidding but...

Cleveland: Hotel Development
Lucky they chose Cleveland for this jewel as they seem to know what they doing and know their audience (unlike Skyline 776). Maybe these developers can purchase 776 and finish construction as odds are the penthouse level crown panels will still allegedly be on the slow boat from China when Fidelity opens.

Cleveland: St. Clair-Superior (non-Asiatown): Development and News
Only in Cleveland...but easy fix: Move the parade to Carnegie which is wide enough for the parade (potholes may finally get fixed if this suddenly relevant group instead focuses its influence on Carnegie road safety rather than hijacking the Superior Midway); or try East 9th Street/Ontario which worked extremely well for the Cavs parade; or better yet and shorter commute Trendy Brook Park - parade can start at the new Sheetz and end at the giant parking lot across from the airport.

Is great news but even low-cost housing design can't escape the Geis-effect. Wish they could moderate the repetitive features as it reminds us of a suburban extended stay hotel.

Yep - should be more even taller in anticipation of future value/development in that area. Should also be replicated on the bluffs from downtown eastward overlooking a future Burke lakefront park and nature preserve and the pending CHEERs development to East 72 and MLK (Liberty Blvd).

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
This latest Haslam family fumble reminds every one again that they are still outsiders in their thinking and actions just like with their rookie botched attempt to move the Brown summer training camp to C-bus before that backfired on them just like the push poll is going to do even causing more unforced damage to their efforts.

Cleveland: Clark–Fulton / Stockyards: Development and News
It looks substantial and anchored to the ground which is a good thing. The right side looks more inviting with what looks like a vehicle entrance and presumably the front entrance. Color is fine but its placement so close the sidewalk likely makes the blank brick walls almost irresistable to our famous graffiti/tagging artists. Otherwise - looks like the scores of others infilling DC gentrifying neighborhoods for years similar to this - but mostly condos (maybe it can be converted at some point).

Haslam is just following the formula for hosing taxpayers as done in Buffalo and elsewhere: https://nypost.com/2024/12/16/business/gov-hochul-slammed-over-tax-funded-buffalo-stadium-after-bills-owner-pockets-billions/
