Lorain County: Development and News
We have to admit we were impressed while visiting the Clec Clinic there. We explored during our hospital visits and found there are a lot of conveniences in the area that make daily life easy. Yes a lot of driving. If they develop their lakefront at the former power plant look out - they will draw even more new residents from both Lorain and Cuyahoga counties.

The Future of America and Its Cities
But there is a lot of red over Cleveland/Cuyahoga - meaning slowing depopulation of different degrees of red color - while the green color - growing population is found in our outlying counties. If the region remains static - that is still a great sign compared to the recent past decades of embarassing flight- but we need to begin the work that will prove their study inaccurate for Cleveland/Cuyahoga by making some major wholesale changes to prop up the region's mothership or host city/county. Please note that this study painted a dark green blob over central Ohio meaning amazing population growth will continue. Why let only C-bus get all of the climate chaos future investments and benefits - there is plenty to pursue for us too. We have to keep up and hit the gas now. This climate modeling study could be useful to our planners and our political leaders to rationalize directing even more public resources to the Center City as the outlying counties will do fine as along as the host city/county is not on life support (a Brook Park dome will only exacerbate the problem).

We like it though especially the exterior perimeter blue lighting - looks alive from the freeway bridge.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
We are just thankful nobody was hurt in the buidling or even pedestrians. The car/buidling impact fireball is amazing as seen in the TV8 news video repasted from above. Glad they are working hard to reopen both. I am sure there will be some new steel bollards placed on the perimeter of the building. Still hopeful for INTRO Phase 2? https://fox8.com/news/watch-new-surveillance-video-shows-car-crashing-into-ohio-city-restaurant/

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Jerry and Jimmy may be related via their PR machines. There's more... Looky here also: https://www.star-telegram.com/sports/nfl/dallas-cowboys/article270030797.html NFL owners will finance Dallas Cowboys plan for $295M in enhancements to AT&T Stadium The Dallas Cowboys got a helping hand from the NFL on Wednesday in their plan to give a AT&T Stadium a $295 million face lift in advance of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As suspected Jimmy should be getting a big helping hand up from his fellow owners. You would think the NFL billionaires would want to instead help Cleveland upgrade its stadium given our histroy and proximity to the birthplace of football - rather than dump on us again and again.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Yes follow Pittsburgh's lead to reinvent the economy faster rather than focusing on uninspiring drive in/drive out sterile mini-Crocker Parks, Legacy Village, or Pinecrests - found in every city. We have the original template downtown and adjacent neighborhoods - focus there Jimmy with your slick DC real estate advisors. Jimmy - there is a reason nobody who knows basic Cleveland's history and needs ever proposed a Claptrap in such a location as yours. What is the real reason you turned your back on Cleveland as your nonstop PR campaign is not believable.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Top 20 is still good - not as good as 8th or 9th as in the 60's - but we need to find a way to stop the slide furher.

All you need to read is the sketchy Disclaimer, Critical Assumptions and General Limiting Conditions section at the end of the report. They don't take responsibily for any of wild a@@ $ projections - they basicaly admit they pulled the data from you know where. Of course the Haslams used a DC-based real estate firm for this "market analsis" fairytale. Jimmy told them what he wanted and they obliged with this smoke, mirrors, and BS. btw...I am glad we learned we needed a DC firm to tell us flow over country folk that we are not sophisticated enough to appreciate how awesome the HSG and this BP mirage really is (for the REGION not Cleveland): "The region should be really excited for this opportunity, and we recognize that it's hard to envision today how one NFL venue can be different from another NFL venue when it's just moving not that far down the road," Talkington said...We really think that at the end of the day, this is a better utilization of this venue and a better opportunity economically and more efficient opportunity economically for how a stadium can contribute to the regional economy than an open-air venue that needs some work and isn't going to change anything from an economic perspective today." Rule #1: when they start with "At the end of the day" run as you are being played Where is their 24 month study on rehabbing this so-called open air venue? Where is their 24-month study on covering this so-called open air venue Where are their conclusions and data backing up an open-air venue that needs some work and isn't going to change anything from an economic perspective today. Where is their study on even the possibility of having access to the Burke land right next door (not virgin soil but neither is the BP EPA superfound site)? Any architect or developer of stature would have salivated to at least make that pitch!

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Good catch the $10-12 million in benefit to downtown magically aligns with the very narrow loss Bibb identified of $ 11 million loss (not the best argument we digress). I am sure we can hire CSU public policy masters program students to pencil whip an identical study showing Double or $ 2.4 Billion of benefits if located Center City. Notice how the bulk of their benefits of $550 million is for non-football surrounding mixed use development aka further cannibalism of existing area venues or rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Their amount now includes approx $200 million benefit outside Cuyahoga? Hello Statehouse legislators how do you like your steaks? Hilarious study - I am sure Queen Dee’s hard copy has rainbow and unicorns on the cover page. https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/rclco-conducts-study-on-stadium-anchored-mixed-use-development-in-brook-park

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
Great idea! Columbus already has modular company that was in the news earlier this year. Maybe Bibb can entice them to expand here. https://columbusunderground.com/stackable-building-coming-together-on-near-east-side-bw1/

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Agree. While the outside of the building would be fine for a coffee table art book on Brutalism, the inside was never pleasant and actually eerily similar to the inside of the county jail. Merits of brutalism aside, we are under the impression that the exterior precast concrete needs replaced anyway and the building has experienced severe water damage. I believe past reports such as by KJP boiled it down to demolishing it or recladding it with a new material or covering the existing building in glass (as the Federal Celebrezze building did). For those who love the Brutalist architecture (though is not the best example) preserving it by enclosing it in glass would allow them to enjoy it for eternity- just like the Vladimir Lenin Mausoleum.

Cleveland: Downtown: Rockefeller Building Rehab-Additions
Hopefully these shy alleged new buyers surface very soon and claim this very nice $7,325,218 public award (your're welcome) for site clean-up and remediation. The new neighbors next door would like to know. Maybe Sherwin Williams can repurpose the old Lebron The Land multi-story image from Ontario and place it over the spooky Rockefeller backside until remodeled.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower at Erieview & Galleria Renovation
Hopefully Erieview will double-time their snail-like efforts to date with the $5,137,448 in Brownfield funds today - to add to all of the other awards/incentives to date - chop chop get it done.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
That is good news to start the Rhodes tower transformation. Hopefully the State will find the funds to complete the conversion of the campus iconic structure into housing. Would be even nicer if would look as imagined in the older KJP story:

Ohio LGBTQ+ News
From the little we have seen, the issue was still evolving within the LGBT community at the time of the elction so it naturally emerged as a wider wedge issue to some on the left who were not provided a unified front or platform for the electorate to consider (a full primary season may have helped socialize and neutralize as a campaign issue better) while it became a rallying point on the right. Not helping to unify support has been the subtle LGB Without the T movement we've seen such as in the US and UK (was a Change.org petition in the past). The election results and election post-mortems casting blame all around are not surprising. https://lgballiance.org.uk/friends-of-lgb-alliance/ https://nypost.com/2023/11/18/opinion/why-its-time-for-lgb-to-divorce-tq/

We hope Millennia surfaces to give us an update of their plans and timelines, especially given all of the public funds earmarked to date but parked on the sidelines for them.

Cleveland: Cleveland-Cliffs
We can hope they have a chance to compete for it again. Not sure what Trump has in mind in terms of tariffs and tax incentives to save US Steel though. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/cleveland-cliffs-ceo-still-interested-in-us-steel-purchase-globe-and-mail/ar-AA1uJERD

Urban Ohio "Picture Of The Day"
I knew there had to be a connection given the similarity. Thank you.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
True, using JobsOhio does not seem in keeping with their mission - while the projects you mention above would be most welcome - but the idea does seem plausible in Jimmy's world of Statehouse lobbyists and Columbus insiders who are always willing to stick it to Cleveland (DeWine will sign on to whatever Jimmy and Dee tell hime to do).

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
Detroit is twice our size and their amazing in progress comeback has been long in the making thanks to Gilbert quietly transforming the city with his purchase of almost 100 properites (with lot's of city, State, and Federal subsidies). We are thankful for all he has done for Cleveland and hope Gilbert and Bedrock follow through on their grand Riverfront plans - if so we should have retail return like Detroit. I remember we had Gucci, Fendi, Barneys, Disney,etc,.. and it could happen again if those types of stores are the future state of retail. Regarding Gucci I see that iit s part of Gucci Changemakers North America, the brand’s social impact initiative and scholarship program, that was awarded to 12 cities (not sure if Cleveland competed - but if not, shame on us). Regarding the top 10 Downtown video, we should just say thank you and leave it there - no need to be defensive as in the past - plus outsiders don't know what we know about how great we were and could be again, but if they see positives in our current Under Construction stage let's just accept their positive feedback. Detroit has earned it and so have we.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Probably stuck with social for a while as there are multiple AI restaurant naming apps that liklely churn it out. Add BGR and STK and anything lower case with a "+" in between. But i am still waiting to see Dad's favorite name SOS (s@#t ona shingle).
