We like it but the Detroit Hudson looks different than earlier images. The design we have seen elsewhere on our desktop…
  2. Beautiful amazing theater but we never went back after having a rat scurry beneath our feet- dc has a real rat problem. Our first sighting years ago we thought was a cat at first given its size.
  3. Navy Yard is almost all filled in. Everything has shifted across North Capital to Buzzard Point which started with the new in 2018 MLS Audi Field. Is developing in half the time it took Navy Yard. Also, can’t overlook the new Frederick Douglass Memorial bridge bisecting both neighborhoods from the south. https://buzzardptdc.com/current-projects
  4. Was not good for our older stomach. More suited for 20s-something’s after the U Street - 14th Street bar crawls. They supposedly added an outpost at DCA but not sure if it survived the Covid era.
  5. KJP are you due for a follow-up interview with the Geis team to get status report on this and other projects of theirs? Would love to hear what they say. Especially with the improving economy and the fact they initially crowed this would not be parking lot for long. They kinda owe us reply for taking away that beloved building- vacant or not - and instead becoming mini-Kassouf parking lot barrons.
  6. It is good to see as such stores are hot in most large cities especially with yutes who pay with surprising large amounts of cash. These stores typically require security at the door with buzz-in limited access as jewelry stores and designer eyewear stores now have to do. Otherwise the store will be cleaned out with one flash mob of yutes. Hope they have roll down steel shutters covering the windows overnight. This store should succeed given the product markup and current demand and hopefully leads to others as PHSq admirably continues to try everything possible to activate the district.
  7. Wow - what a visual impact for so little (relative to other projects)
  8. All it takes cut frequency in half is more cars? Let’s GoFundMe some more cars or coerce Saint Jimmy to purchase some cars for the system among the $ charity indulgences he’s sprinkling around down in his nonstop PR campaign.
  9. Was surprised we saw it from the freeway the other day. Impressive footprint from that view. It fills a void that wasn’t obvious. If only Geis would have built as proposed on NY Spaghetti site that would further accelerate the connection there and to to PHSq. I thought Geus said it would be parking for only up to 5 years (10 years ago?) Didn’t they say to expect a development soon as they weren’t in the parking lot business? Did they sell it already? Hopefully to the developers next door who are succeeding mid-block. The corner of East 9 with views into Prigressive should be easy slam dunk.

Is there Live internet feed? Would love to hear their comments on the lack of signal priority and 5 minute interval buses on the existing Healthline and why the W25 Metrohealth line would be different. Especially concerned about the W25 Lorain West Side Market choke point. It is impassable now can imagine the BRT being adversely impacted without specific solution.
  11. I always thought a no-brainer was as to extend the redline east from underused Scooby-do ghost town Windermere station using the Norfolk Southern tracks (or whoever runs them today) out thru Euclid to Lake County as far as Mentor-Painesville. It was studied 10 or 15 years ago. Why not blow the cobwebs off that study and run with it to start - along with the sensible reroute of one of the Shaker routes into Center UC Meds/Eds that offers a transfer station to redline East (lake county) and west (airport and Jimmyworld planned sea of parking spaces). https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2013/09/rta_looks_northeastward_for_po.html

Can we still say eff the stillers as in our youth even when our team and ownership sucks?
  13. We used to feel same way but the wheels seem to falling off the brand since the Covid era or so. They even had to close some in Center City Philly (their home town) due to theft and store takeovers and even ones in dc/b-more burbs seem dirty. Sheetz convert now.
  14. Can’t wait to hear the results of their study of the properties due in February. PH Square moves relatively fast…
  15. Nothing wrong as it needs unique branding plus Southpark already claimed the names SoDoSoPa and CtPa Town
  16. Jeff needs to channel Dad Richard and Uncle David on the vision thing and get things done like they did. We could use Richard and Dave Jacobs today.
  17. Makes total sense to start there right away as mentioned in KJP feature story: “…Also, advocates are urging that one of the two light-rail services from Shaker Heights be rerouted away from downtown and instead go to the Cleveland Clinic…” sounds like a win-win, jolt Shaker Square rebirth and serve the 2nd Downtown to/from the east burbs

That is how a gentleman delivers an FU gut punch to Jimmy-world
  19. How soon until the GIANT 😀 BOMB
  20. My perception too was very safe and peaceful Pre-Covid when we visitied regularly (except the weekend tourist throngs can be annoying on the winding narrow paths). NYC street-level that's another subject 😀 and yes they do close the stairs/elevator entrances at night https://www.thehighline.org/visit/. So would not be an issue here if our bridge deck was actualized.
  21. we know - intended as continuation of playful banter on the subject of skyline changing hotel development. When it is announced as zbaris87 implies will happen I am sure it will need a thread.

Though we love the Browns we have to be honest and name what we have been watching under the HSG era - intentional sabotage: · Give away all future draft picks and bring an alleged multi-victim villain as the new face (mugshot) of the franchise. · Release Disneyland lakefront development plans for the lakefront out-of-the-blue in a solo PR move without any notice or input from City/County/State stakeholders while posturing as wanting a world-class lakefront. · Continue to demoralize NFL’s perennial top fanbase with non-stop losing seasons due to poor management and limited talent (too few draft picks) while peers in Pittsburgh and Baltimore (should have been the Browns when under Ozzie Newsome) somehow continually rebuild and remake themselves. · Go slient when City/State/Countyactually rally around those plans and begin planning and funds for stadium and lakrefront development. · With his bluff called he quietly walks away from those plans and receptive collaboration. · Drop (surprise!) vague and cobbled together ideas (not firm plans) for a new stadium in Brook Park on former industrial land that if true would likely need years and millions of State/Federal public hazmat clean-up dollars – Brownfield and EPA Super Fund – to make usable to such a use let alone for housing (?). · At the same time shine on the long-suffering citizenry and claim that their noble sacrifice of moving out of Cleveland will now actualize lakefront development – by others – not them - as they originally claim Cleveland needed and they would do themselves. · File lawsuits against the startled or whiplashed City/County/State – who believed they were in collaborative negotiations - on day one of the massive PR push extolling their new mirage plans in BP and sacrifice for Cleveland. Next ? · Sell a minority % stake of the Browns (as Buffalo is now doing for 25% stake) in accordance with the growing Multi-Club Ownership (MCO) bazillionaire movement · Sell up to 10% more to private equity investors · Count new cash windfall in back room and buy more franchises. · Cite new ownership demands and move to larger or international market (C-bus, OKC, Austin, Toronto, Mexico City…) with those plans some-how already completed and on the shelf. · Then in coordination with the NFL-controlled media blame the lack of City/County/State and false trope of a dwindling fanbase (see Art Modell blame game PR plan). NFL will say they tried twice but the Cleveland rubes wouldn't meet Saint Jimmy and NFL halfway. Hope we're wrong but sounds like the NFL verison of Major League (imagine Jimmy in the wigged role in pic below).
  23. Thanks for the Dream news but your're killin' us on the mystery of the skyline changing hotel. More clues please. Does it have its own thread yet? If not, it should, or at least hashtag #skylinechanging hotel
  24. or re-engage the architect for an alternate option. Until then Home Deport is open
