Cleveland: Superior Arts District: Development and News
Saw this Short North photo (hat tip SONO4315) in a C-bus thread and am copying it here as it provides another great vantage point of the nearly seemless I-670 bridge cap (see yellowish columned building on the west side of High Street at center) in attempt keep interest on the opportunities in our forthcoming Innerbelt redo for not only a similar bridge cap enhancing the Superior Midway but on all the innerbelt bridges as mentioned above.

We see the entire site between 28-29 is cleared -what a difference! Hope construction starts soon so it gets its own thread.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
This PD writer Leila Atassi is really making the rounds with the same talking points again on behalf of HSG and with the same amateur concern trolling in obvious attempt to influence public pressure on Bibb and Ronayne. At least this story acknowledges it was written with AI (aka likely helped by HSG talking points)

Technically meets criteria for “skyline changing” but not the type we have hoped for.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
The money shot! We noticed on Sunday the workers were busy installing the gray siding on the inset portion of the builing. Must be a rush job to compete with Collins across the street.

DeWine's statement sounds good for a political commercial but why not just clearly say in plain English he would veto the now public draft amendment and pressure the HSG-owned Rs to rethink. hmmmm...

Cleveland: Downtown: New Police Headquarters
Valid point. Thanks for the rendering. We love the Giant CPD badge sign that should be seen from the innerbelt. Wonder if it is repeated on the water tower on the roof. This pic does give us a Gotham City vibe - maybe they could add a CPD spotlight version of the bat signal.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
The column buried lede conclusion seems repeated almost verbatim from the HSG interns propaganda releases. There is no need for Bibb and Ronayne to stop the pressure now only to claim a dime store participation trophy as the PD/HSG puff piece clumsily tries to sell at the very end. Also, let the downstate Statehouse Rs push the shaky bond scheme backed in part by State income taxes (and then see what happens when a potential Gov Ramaswamy eliminates the State income tax and local communities have to to skyrocket their local taxes (no free lunch Brook Park). So, let the Tennessee grifters find the other public $600 million elsewhere such as from their own personal $12 Billion checkbook or from Brook Park and Berea as both are in his camp already and have to play ball. Let Brook Park, Berea and maybe Middleburg Heights merge and join forces and tax their residents to death as they and their hotels and restaurants will see the most of the vastly overstated regional benefits (not Downtown per the propaganda). Plus, we don't need sudden HSG virtue signal gestures to put some(?) money in the Lakefront development collection plate. Any HSG dollars - if the move to BP ever happens - would be tainted with the HSG jinx. Why don't they write the check amount now and make public and hand over HSG's lakefront plans since already paid for. Lastly, if the scoundrels somehow wins in this case, we should be able to find an innovative way to cover the stadium, rehab it, and connect it via land bridges/skywalks direct into to the Convention Center and compete with the speculative HSG stadium for events 365 (would also allow us to finally bulldoze the IX center and offer the 160 acres of prime land to any of the international companies now proposing US ventures and JOBS to avoid tariffs).

Looks amazing while the concrete garage under construction not so much from an innnerbelt car view. Don't recall if the the renderings showed any type of decorative panel covers but we hope they do.

Greater Cincinnati Metro (SORTA) and TANK News & Discussion
Cinci - Please study Cleveland's BRT and hold Cinci Metro to the promised performance standards - unlike Cleveland's RTA. The BRT Healthline seems to be so slow and unreliable that soon riders will likely opt to fastwalk on the dedicated BRT lanes on the route from downtown to Cleveland's second downtown in UC.

If these rest-of-State Rs - who are inexplicably pushing the HSG scam vs at least getting behind their Governor's plan - and they do override an alleged DeWine threatened veto - they are not reading the room as they say in DC (unless this is all gamed out Kabuki Theater by DeWine, Rs and GSG).

Columbus: Short North Developments and News
Willo replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionYes it is a great confirmation of C-bus' amazing growth that the tourists have invaded Short North, though we have nostalgic memories from when we sadly left the neighborhood/C-bus 20+ years ago. Starbucks placement in touristy areas is similar to the one also this month across from Cleveland's West Side Market in its booming Ohio City/Tremont/Duck Island neighborhood (as also discussed at length in one of the Cle threads). While there is an extremely popular local coffee shop next door in the new timber frame Intro also across from the WSM - and many other local coffee shops in the area as in Short North/C-bus - we think it is a healthy sign when the national chains arrive vs closing (Chipotle and Choolaah among other new arrivals in Cle OC). https://neo-trans.blog/2025/03/11/starbucks-is-next-chain-to-arrive-in-ohio-city/ I agree with you - always try to support the local coffee shops while watching the tourists parade by and politely ask for directions to the nearest Starbucks.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Exactly event the initial phases will be force multipliers for so much. Completion of all of the bulkheads and Phase 1a and 1b (announcement pending?) will be the success test for the rest of Bedrock Riverfront and repositioning of their ShW Landmark buildings/adjacent vacant lot (if Public Square is every done) and maybe bookend everything in that immediate area with their former NuCLEus site. Plus I recall seeing something here about the bike lanes on Ontario finally heating up? If so that will help begin to narrow that too-wide street. Lots to look forward to.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Did the 1980's Forest City legacy generation of the Ratner/Miller family in their heydey of Cleveland development ever consider a rail station option for their Phase 2 riverfront plan before it fizzled?

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
May be true short term but I meant the pressure will likely build among the competitive owners cabal when all the other domes come on line. I believe DeWine's sin-tax type tax plan to support public stadiums may have helped push the effort in the Cinci dome direction but it seems the alternative risky bond scheme the grifting Haslams are lobbying thru the Statehouse (risky to tax payers not HSG) may be a one and done with HSG BP only leaving Cinci to lobby separately for any equal $.

Senator Sherrod Brown
Not bad to go from modest subdivision to Bexley one of the wealthiest enclaves in Ohio. Guess all of those public pensions plus Connie's help - or maybe they only needed to sell the DC condo to help pay. He'll probably teach in some capacity at OSU John Glenn. Hopefully starting this week in their new home, as a gift to his beloved hometown, he will help lobby against the Statehouse R's and their push to control Northeast Ohio public policy via their risky tax dollar give-away to HSG BP. He should have life-time courtesy access to the lobby the Ohio Statehouse given his past service, as in DC too.

Cinci and Pitt will likely add a dome to their current sites or build new to keep up at some point. https://thespun.com/nfl/cincinnati-bengals/report-putting-dome-on-nfl-stadium-would-cost-up-to-1-billion

Yes Ronayne was excellent and also in his follow on appearance on 1100 radio (just after KJP’s call in). We hope he ramps up more public appearances to counter endless HSG intern PR babbling. We especially hope Ronayne and Bibb, with help from the Cleveland Statehouse delegation, demand equal time Statehouse Committee testimony to counter the one-sided appearance last week by the HSG dis-/mis-/mal-information un-rebutted lovefest. Who is this Ashland State rep: https://fox8.com/news/i-team/i-team-new-move-to-help-browns-get-state-money-for-dome/ “…Now, Rep. Melanie Miller, a Republican from Ashland, is taking action…She told the I-Team she will submit an amendment to the state budget proposal within days, in order to provide money for the Browns. That could lead to putting the issue before all Ohio lawmakers for a vote. “I am absolutely going to submit it,” Miller said. “I wanted our committee members to hear firsthand what the Browns are trying to do,” Miller said…” what? She is going to submit it without full testimony? Again why are downstate lawmakers running local policy decisions?

NASA Headquarters Relocation
True is not a factor as once was. If there is a need for limited travel would be easy to get to Houston, Florida and DC (maybe United would relaunch DCA flights. Will be a good test if the DeWine and the Congressional delegation letters have any gravitas. The window to bid for this agency seems worthy of trying especially if the lease is up at its pricey building as reported and given the current Administration’s stated plans. Also federal employee satisfaction rankings always place it at/near the top so more would likely follow the agency than stay.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
Looks Allega and was not near this crime scene. We hope the city has plans underway to replace as even early on they expected a 15 year lifespan: Randell Scott, Cleveland streets commissioner, acknowledged that a concrete road should last "10 to 15 years." He said the city is responsible for the repairs and they will be done. https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2010/04/euclid_avenue_concrete_is_crum.html https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2009/11/rta_says_euclid_avenue_concret.html

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
That arrogance is bad enough then Tywang drops this term- Optical Local Collaboration Did Tywang just slip and let the Tennessee cat out of the bag with a new scheme for sticking the public with more of the bill via the magical Optical Local Collaboration? Here is Tywang: He also proposed that, with “optimal local collaboration,” the local fiscal impacts from the Brook Park stadium and development zone could not only pay for the local investment in the stadium, but also generate considerable excess public revenues that could be used for future capital repairs in the building and other important public purposes, including the downtown lakefront project. But will we get “optimal local collaboration” in a region where it has yet to happen”

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
Unfortunately we had an amazing chance for the People Mover when we gave the already awarded money back to US DOT. After Perk Cleveland has a history of being blessed with bad decisions by local elected officials and self-appointed opinion makers who seemed to hasten the decline at every turn. Btw Miami then got our award. While Detroit’s and Miami’s monorails seemed to languish for many years look at them now as they serve as the base for other transit expansions. https://clevelandhistorical.org/items/show/798
