  1. Downstate politicians many anti-Cleveland are controlling our local major public policy decisions and in effect supplanting our local government officials. Talk about taxation without representation. Where is the outrage and pushback from our elected leaders and community organizers other than Bibb and Ronayne? Downtown is going to start losing events of all sizes and $$$ as greedy Jimmy and Dee will scratch and claw to capture and hold events 365 days a year of any/all sizes (that would otherwise go to downtown) in order to meet the unvalidated rosy revenue projections. Time to go nuclear Bibb and Ronayne and also lobby the Statehouse to ensure the final language says the $600,000,000 is applicable to any location. One more thing- please don’t fall for the bait and switch that HSG will donate $ to the lakefront. That is the equivalent of the NFL and Mayor White saying at least you get to keep the Brown’s name colors and records during the last NFL billionaire owners swindle on the City of Cleveland which is still fresh in our minds.
  2. I hope the Innerbelt plans are not final final - Superior would be a great place for a cap with structures on the bridge to reconnect Superior now separated by the freeway bridge. There are some great buildings to be rehabbed there too and extend the Art District eastward! Look what the 670 cap in the C-Bus High Street Short North did to connect it with Downtown and the convention center:
  3. Bibb and Ronayne have a good reason to bring Haslam back to the table thanks to the Statehouse $600 million giveaway. The City and County can now pitch the total value of all Public contributions State/City/County plus the value of Public contributions already announced for the LandBridge, Lakefront plans surrounding the stadium and last but not least the planned Shoreway redo. Add up the Grand Total of everything and go on a nonstop media blitz as HSG has done. Let them say no to that very significant Public contribution packaged offer and watch their supporters run away. The NFL should then be put on the spot to weigh in.
  4. Why stop with NASA increase the odds of success and recruit the remnants of other Agencies like FAA, FBI and NIH/HHS…
  5. Exactly. Plus if you see the slide show they were taking to C-bus for their latest Statehouse PR blitz this week they blur the cars in the parking lot image to the point they are nearly unrecognizable and instead emphasize what looks like a beautiful mature forest of trees. Then when compared with other drawings released the overhead drawings show narrow tree islands between wide swaths of parking spaces.
  6. While the airport location may be good long term for parts of the NASA HQ staff there is probably more than enough space available in the Celebrez building downtown.
  7. And this will be a much larger store per the KJP story. Also while the drive-thru exit onto Abbey may add to the congestion during red lights with cars turning onto Lorain, hopefully the city can adjust the timing of the lights to mitigate back-ups. Also, looking from the satellite image - with the drive-thru entrance to the south end of the lot and the drive-thru lanes tucked behind between the building and the tree line and rail tracks the appearance may not be as bad as first thought. Upside still is more needed street life.
  8. Wouldn’t say No out the gate until we know whether extending the tourist train into Tower City is feasible. Given that unknown and at least until we see the study underway and hear Bedrock’s feedback and impact on their plans, we should be noodling what is the next best possible option to get the tourist train as close to the attractions as possible. Maybe the power plant - which sits smack dab in the middle of a multi-billion development - and across from two major league sports stadiums and a potential soccer venue is that next best option - or maybe it won’t be. But shouldn’t be a fast No. As far as the hill and a long walk I am sure the developments will rise up and connect to Ontario to welcome people to attractions in both directions.
  9. Even better at the west end of former sleepy Burke next to a new stadium/dome and the lakefront nature preserve to the east almost extending to Metroparks CHEERS lakefront development.
  10. Could explain why there was a run on the unmarked envelope shelf at Office Max. Just kidding of course
  11. If true give Starbucks credit for choosing a great location. Don’t think it will pull from Lekko which is incredibly popular with local residents in a high profile address probably due in part to its nearly stealth appearance behind the dark windows. The Gehring ave site with a Starbucks would tempt much needed pedestrian traffic from WSM shoppers/tourists who would otherwise not dare cross the street from the WSM parking lot. Hopefully it will lead to a much needed mid block safe traffic calming crosswalk from the WSM parking lot across Lorain to the Abbey/Gehring intersection.
  12. Wouldn't the power plant there would make a great terminus station for the CVSR? While kinda forlorn right now it looks like it will be in the middle of future planned development below and all directions. Maybe we can include an electric street car museum - can Trolleyville USA be brought back to life?
  13. We hope that Great Lakes Brewing partners for more housing as part of its future phase inland 8 acres - after its riverfront 1st phase - at least on the southern end of their land that seems so close the first 2 single homes under construction.
  14. “This becomes, really, the first thing fans and people are going to see as they’re flying into the city,” the head of the design team said. “There’s the home of the Cleveland Browns.” They didn't finish the quote: " and will be surrounded by the actual movie set for the entire Road Warrior/Mad Max movie series"
  15. Nice - reminds us of the High Line and entrance points.
  16. We have to start somewhere. Even in Puerto Rico started with 3 order showrooms before adding a full size store. Though not mentioned in the 8 showrooms planned to open 2025 - hopefully we will be on the next list: https://www.retailtouchpoints.com/features/news-briefs/ikea-plans-8-new-smaller-format-stores-in-2025 “Our strategy continues to prioritize our customer’s needs, and in fiscal year 2024, we continued to make everyday living more accessible, especially during a time when we know economic challenges are leading to a decrease in disposable income for many Americans,” said Ikea CEO and chief sustainability officer Javier Quiñones. “As we gear up for the 40th anniversary of Ikea U.S. in 2025, we’re committed to reaching even more customers where they are.” The Orange 271 high-visibility location does make sense (and Avon)...Meh...though wouldn't center city better match the CEO's intent given the growth surge underway? Steelyard Commons? Hello Team NEO (Matt 'Swing at the pitch that's coming' Dolan) and GCC this is your wake-up call - please add Javier Quiñones to your To Do List this week and educate him on the central Cleveland population surge underway.
  17. Musk may target Amtrak next: https://archive.is/kux1s At least Amtrak has a white paper ready: https://www.amtrak.com/content/dam/projects/dotcom/english/public/documents/corporate/amtrak-privatization-faqs-03052025.pdf
  18. Welcome to the party finally. That was easy. Now do the Lakefront with a potential remodeled Browns stadium along with a future Burke dome, adjacent development (Vocon renderings) and All People’s park.
  19. Congrats, in part? I would follow up with clerks office and/or the Bailiff's office for the housing court judge. Government always assume everyone understands their vocabulary. They should have to explain the process and the judgement made under your docket #. https://www.clevelandhousingcourt.org/contact-us

Zack Reed - Frank Jackson not available? Odd timing. He repeats the same tired thinking that only results in another 50 years of doing nothing big as the city's and region's stale date fast approaches. Please lets move on with the new generation of leaders.

All FAA Reliever airports in the area more than cover the shrinking BKL operations: Cuyahoga, Lorain, Medina and Lake County Executive. The political window is now open to address Burke completely after 50 years of hope and prayers - plus we have DeWine's reported attention following his epic listening tour when feigned interest in addressing the Browns, Lakefront and Riverfront.
  22. Let’s hope they didn’t value engineer and bait-switch the top panels as in the renderings
  23. If only the final version ends up closer to the townhomes than the Geis Bridgeworks final design:
  24. Practical and common sense design - we like the overhangs to offer partial protection from our crazy weather. Given the details in Ken's article it seems like it at least could break even very quickly with all of the non-soccer community events already expressing interest. Also, with Metroparks involved I hope they can help expedite the future north trail to the Bedrock Riverfront concurrent with the stadium construction so it doesn't fall by the wayside.
