Cleveland: Which Project Will Be Next and Why
Wonder if Bedrock Riverfront is back in play for the courthouse project in view of Bedrock’s recent plan to complete all bulkheads and roadways all at once rather piecemeal. If so that would make easier for this and others to plug and chug their projects along the Riverfront.

How about adding an urban format Sheetz gas station - now that would add life to the area!

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Bleh is spot on! The dreary feeling increased driving west on 71, south on 237 then winding around to the back entrance of the IX. Let's be honest, we should not be directing future US and foreign visitors any near this area to attend NFL games or any other entertainment events - not a great first impression to be kind. In fact, while talking to 2 of the pretty auto show spokespeople they commented (and laughed) that they have never seen so many roads in a city with so many potholes. I was surprised when they said they were from Florida.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Going to the auto show made us realize what a vast piece of land that definitely is not being to used to its highest and best potential. Between the 160 acres or so that it sits on along with the 160 or so acres currently being pushed for a dome and giant parking lot - could instead be assembled and offered to an IT, aerospace, or other manufacturer such as what the Columbus region landed for Rickenbacker - 4,000+ Jobs. While not 500 acres as there, I am sure if it was packaged and marketed it could have been in the running for this or other similar operations reportedly trying to onshore their businesses. Including new US Pharma plants such as the Eli Lilly big announcement this week - https://investor.lilly.com/news-releases/news-release-details/lilly-plans-more-double-us-manufacturing-investment-2020 Attn: Dolan and Team Ohio lets get creative! Why don't you swing at this easy fat pitch right down the center of the plate. Also - GC Partnership, NOACA, Cleveland Foundation,... - use your combined regional muscle and just try while also convincing the Haslams that the most civic-minded gesture they could make is to return to the Lakefront or adjacent Center City where sport-entertainment and related venues belong.

Thanks for the reminder as we too were first puzzled why so many were on the bridge in jerseys one day when for years it was so desolate. Then we noticed it again. Please take notice planner people, developers and potential residents - It's Alive.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Oops didn’t think of that. Hopefully our championship jinx is not contagious to our Buckeyes since doing so well since the Cooper years. I have a feeling Columbus is inoculated or immune from our Browns woes given their booming economy and plus they seem to have fared better than us with the Haslam clown car given their success in the nearby arena district.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
True why a public park there in between the apartments and townhomes? Will it invite unintended loitering, drug traffic, unhoused persons overnight camping? the prison bars seem like an answer to the building abutting the lot line and sidewalk as couldn’t have balconies with stuff falling on pedestrians. Not sure why they couldn’t take some space from the pocket park and give the front setback of the building breathing room from the sidewalk and busy street (and add real balconies). otherwise seems like a worthy project too fill in this gap with new life.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
True but without seeing the stadium reno plans we are the whim of HSG assurances without independent validation that it would be out of commission for 3 years. Could the work also be compressed between some of the season (as Progressive) thereby reducing the need to play all games elsewhere? We don't know anything thanks to the blackout on any news about the reno plans HSG already completed (reportedly to rave reviews per the public grapevine) before the out of nowhere whiplash switch from lakefront planning to BP. There is enough time to make plans for some games elsewhere such as Canton - the NFL owners could easily chip in to expand the stadium from 23,000 upward by then and collectively sponsor the temp move or marketed as the Canton residency (think J-Lo or Taylor Swift Vegas residency) - the birthplace of football. Why not some games at The Shoe in Columbus where Jimmy could clean up on ticket sales (after season tickets holders get first dibs), which would also help Jimmy with that market usually split between the Browns, Bengals and Steelers. We don't mind sharing with our C-bus friends short-term as Browns fans from all over wouldn't mind the opportunity to play in the Shoe. Plus the Haslams can further ingratiate themselves with the C-bus market and Dee's Columbus Partnership cronies where it seems they are loved (at least more than in Northern Ohio). Then there are nearby NFL stadiums in Buffalo, Pittsburgh or Detroit to take over their stadiums as the home team while their teams are on the road (NFL moves games last minute all the time when natural weather/safety issues require moving a game location)... Who knows if Ronayne, Bibb and DeWine can convince the self-labelled civic-minded Jimmy and Dee to recommit to Lakefront plans to now include a promise of a near-future Lakefront Dome and village but preceded by a scaled back basic remodel in the interim. Who knows? But until this plays out further and we have more transparency about each option we shouldn't give in to Jimmy's pressure to abruptly shut down reasonable civic deliberations.

Great idea! Can WFL be extended to 55th and turn south there vs the often discussed 18th loop?

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Thank you for another reason to slow down dome talks and focus on short term Reno while considering all sites - let’s see the HSG plans for the current site already. and No, it shouldn’t be too late to the right thing - the window is open now given the rare maximum visibility and awareness this project now has - not just regionally but State-wide (and skittish NFL owners by now). We have nearing mass of publicity thanks to both the nonstop astroturf HSG PR releases combined with the leadership of Ronayne, Bibb and the growing grassroots opposition - who continue to shine sunlight on the shadowy HSG attempt at a quick hit and run escape to BP. Who knows where it ends but this needs more serious and transparent deliberation given the public investment in any site.

Is it going to be a regular DSG or the new concept House of Sports going to Southpark?Otherwise makes sense to get closer to the booming Avon area and further away from the great northern warehouse concept.

Cleveland: Asiatown: Development and News
Such potenital on 2 acres covering both sides of Payne. Please don't geis-it-up. Hopefully NRP Group will put in a little extra effort researching designs that sensitive to the Asiatown neighborhood. Even for workforce housing it shouldn't be hard to include design elements that reference decorative motifs, color schemes, doorways and windows, etc., that are easliy recognized by area members of the Asian diaspora who visit/live/shop/dine in this neighborhood: “This is a place where Asians – Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese – come in from 20, 30, 40 minutes away,” said Bin Zheng, who owns a nearby restaurant. “Come here, eat some local food. Go to the local supermarket they don’t have elsewhere. So this is a special neighborhood.”

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Thanks Ken - didn't know this was such a big thing! I thought Jimmy said there are no other large tracts of land for development. May not be as big as BP, and not yet remediated, but there are options to enlarge the footprint at the periphery. Were the Haslams even curious passing it each day? This is even closer to their lakefront estate that North Coast harbor (though not sure if they can see it from their house as Tine Fey could see Ruzzia from Alaska). Oh well. Ken please send this to DeWine's team so he can add it to his alleged deliberations underway on how to he will ultimately help his HSG friends in the next budget while also helping our Lakefront and Riverfront needs. The clean-up and site prep should be expedited - the State or Metroparks should try to buy it so it can be optimally synced with CHEERS.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
Pure propaganda obviously written by the HSG student interns as evidenced by this: An opportunity to redefine and enhance the city's image and attract business is uncommon. Even rarer is an entrepreneur, like the Haslams, willing to fund half the cost of the stadium. This puff piece was probably already written before Jimmy and Dee did a 180 to BP. Just insert downtown or lakefront where BP is mentioned and it works. and then drops the Taylor Swift economic development theory on us. Come on Toby! Thank you for your service Toby! Now please stick to the dozens of corporate boards you are on and let this up to us and our leaders Ronayne and Bibb.
