  1. MEMI Announces Name of New State-of-the-Art Music Venue in Anderson Township"MEMI, a subsidiary of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) that manages live entertainment venues, including Riverbend Music Center and the Andrew J Brady Music Center, announced Thursday that its new state-of-the-art music and entertainment venue being built on the site of the former Coney Island will be called the Farmer Music Center after a $60 million gift from the Farmer Family Foundation. The organization says it's the largest philanthropic commitment to the arts in recent Cincinnati history." Read more: https://www.citybeat.com/music/memi-announces-official-name-for-new-state-of-the-art-music-venue-19638796 From what I have heard, the venue will not be where the pool was. It will be built where the west parking lot is, right behind Moonlite Gardens. (In between Coney Island and I-275.)
  2. Construction progress as of 4/30/2025 Phase I infrastructure (roads, utilities) seems to be pretty much done. The only main road in Phase I that doesn't have curbs or pavement yet is the section of 3rd street that connects to Madison (seen in the foreground of the first photo) It appears that excavation is happening on the north side of the site, maybe for the Phase II roads and parking garage.
  3. Hilltop demolition has started.
  4. I believe all the land for the new bridge is on the west side of the Brent Spence.
  5. A second taller tower crane was put up for the new dorm buildings over the weekend.
  6. Went and looked around the site. There's 2 garage levels under the main plaza level. The parking garage feels cavernous, especially on the bottom level with its extremely high ceilings. They already have the garage sections painted on the columns. They are labeled alphabetically east to west, and numerically north to south. The ramps between levels appear to be for one way traffic but they still feel extremely small for the size of the garage. There's 2 sets of escalators which will take people from the garage levels up to the plaza. There's also stairs and elevators from the garage to the plaza. The bases and the cutouts going up through the floors are still there for the 2 tower cranes. They should be able to reinstall them if the rest of this project ever gets completed. The 3 condo buildings that are already built have their own private parking for residents on G1. This lot is behind a gate and has private elevator access. The bottom of the elevator shafts for the future buildings are also in the garage. 7. On May 31, the Inaugural Spring Soirée will take place on the Purple People Bridge. Sounds like it's a fundraiser to help eventually repaint/restore the bridge. Individual tickets are $150. Based on the info, there will be food, live music, and horse-drawn carriage rides. Here's a link to the event info and tickets. This is from part of their post on Instagram and Facebook: "Since November 8th, 2005, the Purple People Bridge over water and land in Newport has been privately owned by the ever-mysterious Purple People Bridge Company. But fear not, gentle followers, they seek to preserve it. With promises of restoration and whispers of a return to that bold, proud purple hue of old, they invite all to their inaugural Spring Soirée. A fundraiser, they call it, with every ticket sold bringing us one step closer to a future as vibrant as the bridge’s storied past."
  8. The new West Tower at Good Samaritan Hospital is going up. Here's an article about it.
  9. Construction is wrapping up on The Point, at least on the exterior. Also, the site across the street on the corner of McMillan and Auburn is being excavated and a construction fence has been put up around it.
  10. Vertical construction is well underway. It looks like they are currently pouring the floor to the second "underground" level on the west side of the site. Here's a few photos from a couple weeks ago (March 12). Unfortunately, there aren't many good places to stand to get good photos of the entire site.
  11. The parking garage at the World Peace Bell site in Newport is going up fast. It seems to be made of prefabricated sections so it should be finished relatively quickly.
  12. The 3rd condo building is having its final floor framed. You can also get a good look at the scissor stairs.
  13. If you skip to 7:37 in this video, it shows the bridge and plaza level. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj6Q4Q3Umbk
