Cleveland: Random Development and News
There was also one in Wickliffe (I believe it's something else now) and I was always surprised that location stayed open as long as it did (over 10 years I believe). The Arabica in Highland Heights didn't last too long (where Crostata's Pizza is now). I was always surprised they'd even consider a location there. Highland and Bishop isn't a real happening corner.

Cleveland: Random Development and News
That is correct and that is why the Phoenix on Coventry is in the old Arabic space, albeit the building has changed greatly over the years. Caribou coffee changed it quite a bit, didn't they?

Cleveland: Random Development and News
The person who started Phoenix Coffee is the same person who started Arabica Coffee. From what I've heard, people were disappointed with Arabica after he left, so he started Phoenix, and thus why Phoenix became more popular than Arabica rather quickly.

In 100 years, we'll be a fully urban species
I think suburbia further dystopian ideas more than urban areas (at least at this point in the US). Regardless, you say it's not ever going to change (that suburbs exist), but I think the point is that it may need to if the population of the planet keeps increasing. We're just not going to have enough land to each take a decent sized chunk of it in many places in 100 years if the population keeps growing rapidly.

Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
I was there yesterday and they said they are opening in 3 weeks. I picked up a flier but don't have it with me right now. I think the flier said it was going to have fresh fruits and vegetables, breads and pastries from On the Rise, fresh coffee from Phoenix Coffee, and Italian and Asian specialty items, and other random groceries. Looks interesting, hope it does well.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
If the WSM was privately owned, it probably wouldn't still be operating. The government has the capability to provide stability during rough economic times, and the people have a say in its future. It isn't at the behest of the whims of a small group who privately owns it and could decide tomorrow that, although it is successful, condos or restaurants could make them even more money, without having any regard for the impact on the community as a whole. It is such an important community asset that I think it's an important one to be protected through public ownership.

CLEVELAND: Little Italy Feast of the Assumption
West end of Little Italy, south side of Mayfield Rd. Between Random Rd. and the railroad tracks, across from Etna's. It's a nice little park.

Where to live in Clevland, Single, 30 something Male, no kids. Looking for nice
555, Keep in mind that the picture KJP posted doesn't happen too often, especially at rush hour. In the 3 years I made a cross commute (2002-2005), I think I only had to drive on snow covered roads maybe 5 times at rush hour. When we do get snow during rush hour, often times it's cleared very quickly or just not heavy enough to accumulate on our salt drenched roadways. It's actually fairly rare (like a handful of days per winter) to have to drive on a snow-covered road (unless it's a rarely plowed side street of course, but you're hopefully driving slowly on those anyway). Also, as rust goes, I have had my current car for 6 1/2 years and it has never known the joys of covered parking. There isn't a hint of rust on it yet.

What day were you there? I was just in Ann Arbor this past weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't take my camera.

Cleveland: Retail News
To answer questions when needed, ring the customer up when they buy something, stock the shelves, keep the store clean, and make sure people don't walk out without paying. I think one of the worst stores is the Apple store. Sometimes I want to just go in and see what's new and play around with some of their devices. That is the best sales tool for me. But I get real agitated when they are breathing down your neck and watching your every move like a hawk because the worker to shopper ratio is about 3 to 1. I usually end up just leaving and have never actually bought anything from the store. This is completely the opposite of the Verizon store I go to, which has excellent customer service (which runs contrary to many Verizon stores I have been to). I went in and played around with the Droid for about 15 minutes without anyone bothering me. I enjoyed it so much I bought one on the spot and then not too long after came back and my wife bought one as well.

Personally, when I walk into a store, I don't want to be bothered. If I need help, I'd like someone to be available, but I don't want them pestering me. Ideal customer service is exactly what the one woman did. Ask if you need help to show you're available, then butt out of the way until the person says they need your help.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Disregarding the effects this could have on potential seasons tickets sales, people have already begun to pay for (or have fully paid for) their seasons tickets for next year. Even if it's legal at this point to force them to give one of those tickets up, I sure think it would be terrible business. It sounds like a funny idea, but if it were to actually happen, I think it'd be nothing but an embarrassment to our city and our own team. The best we can hope for out of this game is to magically find a way to pound the Heat and have our fans roaring with excitement and jeers throughout the whole game.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
Yeah, I don't see the problem with 3 floors in a dense residential/commercial neighborhood. Many vibrant parts of Chicago are 2 or 3 story buildings. Vibrant parts of Lakewood and Cleveland Heights are full of them. (Actually, most of the buildings on Coventry and Lee Rd. are either one or two stories.)

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Ha! No way you could get seasons tickets holders to sell for that price. They're why this plan could never work. They'll be peddling their tickets for a lot of money if they decide not to go.

^ versus ^^
Even if everyone gets both ways right, it's harder to follow ^^^^ (find post 4 posts up to see what's being replied to) than to have the quote inlined in the post. And if you get the quote right the first time (which shouldn't be too hard) you know you won't have to go back and fix it. There's no way to tell if your 4 up arrows will even be pointing at the right post by the time the post hits the board. I've seen a couple times recently where it's been fairly obvious that a reply with arrows is pointing to the wrong post.

Exactly, I was hoping the Heat weren't one of those teams with which the Cavs only had three games. Are you sure they're not? Maybe we only go to Miami once.

That's why I don't like the ^ convention and just use the quote function.
