Littleton, CO and Light Rail Station
That looks like a nice little downtown. Unfortunately, most of Littleton is sprawlburbia (at least from what I rememebr when I was there a little while back).

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
The only bad thing I have to say about the game is that Z couldn't make a shot to save his life. Everyone else played well I thought. Delonte is probably one of the most underrated players in the league. He's not flashy, but he can score from the outside and off the dribble, and has one of the best stepback jumpers I've seen in a while. He clears some serious space with that move. Plus his defense was great as usual. He has very active hands and his quick hops to pick off a lob pass are amazing. Has anyone noticed that although Anderson is not a good shooter overall, he seems to have gotten pretty good at hitting that fall away to the left shot? Did Lebron teach him this? :)

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Could you post that link again? I can't seem to find it. Sorry, but I've got some complaining to do. That 2 minute diatribe that sounded like a Forbes Top 10 Reasons Clevelanders Are Poor Schmucks That Only Have The Cavs In Their Life To Keep Them Happy really pissed me off. Had he just said "the city of Cleveland is goign through some rough times right now, so it's nice for the fans to have the Cavs playing so well" I wouldn't have minded so much. However, he rattled off a bunch of "reasons" that Cleveland was a terrible, terrible place. "Big companies are fleeing the region"? So the Medical Mart doesn't matter? Or the growing healthcare industry? The fact that our unemployment rate is LOWER than the national average? Or how about that home values haven't lost near as much here as in the "hot" areas like Las Vegas, Phoenix, California, and Florida? No, Cleveland is one of the most awful places anyone could be unfortunate to reside in according to TNT, and thank goodness the Cavs are playing well, or else we'd all probably be committing suicide. And of course, we must remmeber to drill this into EVERYONE's head every single time the Cavs are on TV. It's like TNT is the national version of the Plain Dealer. "We know drama." Apparently so. I am glad the Cavs are playing well. They are exciting to watch. But I'm sick and f*!@ing tired of the national media acting like professional sports is the only thing that keeps us all from going into a state of depression. I love living here, and the Cavs, Indians, and Browns are only a small part of that. And they're that same small part of loving living here even when they aren't playing well. And I know many other people that feel the same way. So BIG MIDDLE FINGER to you, TNT.

I would say your best bets are Lakewood, Cleveland Heights (southern and western parts), Tremont, Shaker Square, and Edgewater.

Cleveland: What would YOU do?
I agree that the program as it is isn't really working. But I don't think you have given any solutions. I disagree that we should concentrate poverty as you previously suggested in a post that was deleted. I think we should just be tougher on enforcing rules on the renters. Break the law and you're out. There are plenty of Section 8 renters that help fill out the rental market in suburbs and are appreciative of the opportunity to live where they wish and are good neighbors. Why cluster these people back into high-crime projects just because they're poor? The real solution is to enforce the law tougher to get the criminals off the street. There are plenty of law-abiding citizens in poverty.

^ Specifically, that would be the rectangular area containing the side streets between Mayfield, Coventry, Superior, and Euclid Heights.

Ohio Tanning Bed Ban/Tax
I don't believe a light box would help with Vitamin D deficiency, however. The problem with tanning beds is that they give off more "bad" UV-rays than the sun, and less of the ones that help the skin produce Vitamin D (I can't remmeber which is which out of UVA, UVB, and UVC rays). They still would have to cause you to produce more Vitamin D than a light box, I would assume.

Metro Cincinnati: Road & Highway News
Thanks for finding that. I thought my Google Maps measuring skills were better than being off that far. :) I searched high and low (wasted about 3 hours) trying to find info on that section of the freeway and couldn't.

Cleveland: What would YOU do?
As far as ice cream goes, we need a Honey Hut on the east side. There's a solution! :)

Yes, I know plenty of people who have never been to Chicago and would be quick to run with that perception if it was drilled into their minds repeatedly by Forbes lists posited as front page Yahoo and MSN articles.

I don't recall hearing many comments like that. Maybe on cleveland.com. But this is not the cleveland.com crowd here that doesn't like this proposal.

Cleveland: Rockometer Proposal
I don't recall anybody thinking a martini bowling alley was as tacky, cheesy, or stupid as this abomination. I think you're right to an extent, but there still should be limits as to what we'll build to attract people. I'm sure a big Chuck E. Cheese would attract people down there as well.

Speaking of Forbes lists, have you ever checked out their America's Best Colleges List? The tope 10 or so are fairly expected. But it gets kind of ridiculous as you move down the list. Case Western Reserve University is #403, behind about 15 other Ohio colleges and universities (including Mount Union and Capital).

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Are there really going to be stops in Greenwich, Shelby, Crestline, and Galion? Considering how close and low population those towns are, couldn't they cut that down to 1 or 2 stops and make the Cleveland to Columbus leg substantially faster?

I wonder if this means we'll get a real train station or just an AmShack+.

Cleveland Area TOD Discussion
I don't think the problem with the design is so much the style as the scale. It seems to me like it would "clobber" the feel of the neighborhood. Not in the way a 90 story skyscraper would, but it just feels like too much to me. I wouldn't have a problem with the same style of architecture, but a much smaller footprint (like no grassy bridge over a bridge, a small station will stairs leading to it from under the bridge and a ramp off of E. 119th St.).

NBA: Playoffs News & Discussion
Check Youtube for the video. He and Hinrich got tangled up on a box out and Rondo grabbed and tossed Hinrich into the scorers table. Then when Hinrich came at him, he ran away screaming for his mother to help him. He didn't get ejected, but I think he should get suspended for game 7.
