CLEVELAND - Praise Be...
What is it with new churches these days that they feel the need to make them look like spaceships? It's just creepy to me.

CLEVELAND - Praise Be...
True. Speaking of which, did you see the article about the new Catholic Church in Grafton? I'll try to find it.

CLEVELAND - Praise Be...
I have noticed the same thing.

CLEVELAND - Praise Be...
I am a member of St. Stephen and got married there last summer. Also, I was Baptized, received First Communion, and was Confirmed at St. Colman. So, thanks MayDay for a great thread that means a lot to me. And don't get me started about this church closing mess, I have spent many a day lamenting over it already.

MidTown Cleveland: General Discussion
I feel the Carnegie ramp would be the wrost one to remove. It carries a large amount of traffic towards University Circle and has a minimal footprint. The other ramps take up much more room. I would think the Carnegie ramp would be the most compatible with a cap.

Off Topic
I agree with you R&R. Not only is this not funny, but it says a lot about the state of humor in this country that most people DO find things like this funny. Even if what the guy did wasn't cruel, it simply isn't funny, in the same way most of the "comedies" out nowadays aren't funny. I am increasingly finding that the only comedies I actually do enjoy are the ones shown at the Cedar Lee.

Should they remind FCE that they built their mall underground? By the way, here is the link to the article posted above: http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/04/dan_gilbert_paul_dolan_push_fo.html As usual, the comments are outstanding.

Peak Oil
We should be able to integrate over both of the curves in teh Discoveries/Production graph to figure out how many barrells of oil there are which have been discovered and not yet used. This would probably be able to pretty effectively predict when that dotted-line major dropoff in production should occur (it looks to me like it would actually be sooner than the graph indicates).

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Not as pissed as if you only got to go to one game the whole year. I still think it's the right move though.

I agree. Good post (especially the use of "schadenfreude" :) ).

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
As long as they have toilets in their buildings in London, there have probably been tons of things built which are sh!tty.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
These don't sound that expensive for month-to-month rates. If they are year-long leases, then yes they sound a little high.

Peak Oil
It is also easier to live in a home that stays in the low 60s for the winter (not that I do it :) ) than it is to live without having enough water. Historically people have been able to live in climates such as the Midwest's much better than they did in the desert, regardless of the energy available to them.

Rethinking Transport in the USA
I'll bet a majority of Ohioans would like a billion dollars, but we don't already have that. Trains do affect many of us personally. If we had a good train system, we could get from place to place in a comparable amount of time and NOT HAVE TO DRIVE. I and many others HATE driving. The only reason we do it is because it's the only option. Just because you may think differently doesn't necessarily make you right.

What a good night for the Cavs. We played well, we clinched the east, and the Lakers lost! NBA best record magic number: 2

Are you a textaholic?
Haha, yeah that Not Appropriate For Work image is pretty much exactly what I mean. :)

Are you a textaholic?
I know how Twitter works (posting 160 character or less messages and having people subscribed). I just don't understand it. Why would I want to "subscribe" to other people's status updates (which is all they pretty much amount to, it's like updating your status on Facebook)? I guess I also don't understand the updating status on Facebook thing either, which is probably why I don't understand Twitter. It just seems like a big freaking "who cares" to me.

Are you a textaholic?
I don't really get it either.

Top 10 Chains We Wouldn't Mind Seeing in Downtown Columbus
I believe that is the only urban location. They even differentiate it on the website as being called "Marc's Neighborhood Store" rather than "Marc's Discount Store", and it has a different ad.
