  1. I would love to see the roads removed and all 4 squares left as is, and make the areas in between landscaped walks with benches and some greenspace...and maybe put something in the middle where the paths meet.

Did anyone catch Lebron's shot before halftime (3 of his 50 tonight)? Fading away and to his left from about 7 feet inside half court, elevating and shooting at his peak, nothing but the bottom of the net. That could have been of the most impressive shots I have ever seen. I can't imagine being strong enough to be able to even get it there, let alone have any accuracy!

Even a gallon of non-organic milk is near $4.

I'm glad I wasted my time reading this thread...although the KOOW/pope exchange was worth a little chuckle.

I have played around with an iPhone quite a bit and own a Voyager. My thoughts: The iPhone has a better "feel" about the UI, in typical Mac fashion. There is nothing wrong with the Voyager's touch screen, it's just that the software on the iPhone uses it to its advantage more. The tactile feedback (small vibration) when you touch the Voyager's screen is great. With the sound off, it gives GREAT feedback as to when you touch the screen, similar to an actual button press. The web browser on the iPhone is better and scrolls more smoothly. The LG does offer some nice rendering alternatives for when you just don't need the full HTML page. However, in full HTML page mode, the browser can be fairly clunky, although still adequate. The Voyager's full keyboard on the inside blows away the iPhone's horrendous on-screen keyboard input method. This reason alone ensures that I would never trade in my Voyager for an iPhone even if they both worked on the same provider. Verizon's broadband service is far superior to the slow AT&T network that the iPhone works with. Using Google Maps on the iPhone is quite frustratingly slow. VZ Navigator is much more user-friendly, responsive, and GPS-integrated than Google Maps on the iPhone. Email on the iPhone is better than the Mobile Email app on the Voyager. The iPhone works with WiFi, the Voyager doesn't. All in all, they both have advantages and disadvantages, but after about a month of use, I have to say that I use the keyboard enough to make it a feature I couldn't do without (at least not if the alternative is the iPhone's input method).
  7. And for future reference, I believe there is a 6 bus stop right at the corner of Adelbert and Euclid.
  8. ^Very interesting, and I don't know if that would be off-topic, as Cleveland Brown is named after the city of Cleveland (and the football team in particular).

Agreed, I have heard them from both Obama and Clinton supporters. I think everyone should know better, but unfortunately you'll still get ignorance from almost any subset of the population from time to time. I agree that it is especially disappointing when it's people (1) you tend to align yourself with politically, and (2) people you think should already know better from personal experience that these attitudes are destructive and simply wrong. I actually need to know a little more about Hillary to form a better opinion of her. She has nothing to do with why I support Obama. I simply like what I've heard out of him and read from him. I support Obama because I believe he is pushing for a type of leadership we haven't seen in a long time in this country. I am not supporting him because I don't like Hillary. That being said, no candidate is perfect, and you always have to use the others as a yardstick. You will never agree with every position a candidate takes, so you have to weight which ones you support for each candidate. I actually feel I need to do this a little more here between Hillary and Barack. So in that regard if one candidate supports 99 ideals you don't, and the other does, then that's 99 reasons for you to vote for the other for president.

^I'm an Obama supporter and you'll never hear that out of me. For one, I respect that he is the only candidate talking about the importance of public transportation, as well as the importance of revitalizing urban cores. I feel the same way about information on Hillary. It seems as though Hillary supporters spend so much time bashing Obama, that I'm not really even sure what she stands for or why I should like her.

Yep, the reasons are government funded sprawl and the resulting penchant for those who can to take advantage of it. Suburbias time will run out, and I refuse to support it and its destructive consequences.

Both cities do matter (and both are shrinking unfortunately), but Macedonia doesn't matter to me. That's where the freakin thing was going. And Macedonia is about as split as it gets between being a Cleveland suburb and an Akron suburb. Kind of like Richfield.
  15. For comparison, Key Tower is approximately 225'x150'.
  16. I believe those are for having a video recording in the case of an accident.

The eye of that hurricane went directly over my grandparents' house, and they were still in it! Luckily they were OK and their house was repairable. They live near Punta Gorda. I haven't been there for a while, but I remember it being one of the neater old towns around the area. I heard much of it was destroyed by the hurricane, unfortunately.
  18. Did you go to h/s in a foreign country?

Good points, I'm of Irish-English-Austrian descent, so I have more of an excuse to celebrate than some people. But that's beside the point. It just seems that every single holiday becomes an excuse to get obliterated. Isn't every weekend throughout the year enough for those people? Try enjoying being a human being for once. Last rant, I promise, I'm in a bad mood tonight.

You mean 99.999% of people? Sorry, I love St. Patrick's Day, but it's one day where it seems that nearly everyone is p*ssing me off. There's quite a difference between heavy buzzing/sorta drunk all day (to me, a great time), and puking/acting like an a$$ (not so much a good time). Get some self-control people! Do you really want to be sick for 3 days?
  22. This would be more of a sociological discussion for another thread. I partially agree with you, but it's not as simple as a lot of people think.
  23. For some. But giving scholarships to the top 1% (or even top 5%) doesn't do much for the education of the population as a whole.
