  1. No, it was at Woodland and Woodhill on the east side, where the Morris Black homes are now.
  2. From my room in the Hyatt a few days ago.
  3. Why does this matter? More money (by a long shot) flows to Columbus to support its state university. The funding per capita (of metro residents) would be a more meaningful metric than per student. That funding has a much larger beneficial effect to the local economy, period. If you want to talk about net benefit to the state vs. public spending, how about CWRU? As far as research goes, I would say CWRU provides an even greater benefit to Ohio, with no state subsidy. Your "facts" (a large portion of which are opinions) don't actually prove what you think they do.

I'm not a big fan of soccer, and this article articulates my reasons quite well. https://www.brotherlygame.com/2014/1/20/5306238/the-role-of-luck-and-defense-in-soccer
  5. They're removing a skywalk, not adding one, right?
  6. There's a reason these are called dumb lists. They don't even use consistent methodology. For Cleveland (and many other cities at the top of the list) they used crime rates for the city proper. However, they removed Las Vegas after they inexplicably decided to use the MSA crime rate.
  7. It looks like the video was wrong and that the Guinness Book of World Records does recognize it as a world record. https://www.cleveland.com/tipoff/index.ssf/2011/10/claim_to_world_record_for_ball.html
  8. Yeah, but this street has well kept NEWER homes. I know there are some streets with older homes that are well kept, but I didn't realize there were any streets that had been rebuilt with exclusively newer homes.

    Nope.
  10. Not sure how I missed this, but this was just a well timed shot with an iPhone 6s, and the only Photoshopping was cropping and one application of the Sharpen filter. The most important element was my husband keeping the car steady while navigating traffic on the Innerbelt :) Just goes to show, it's not how many gigapixels you have, it's how you use them! :P
  11. Ah, I see what you mean. That is strange. Looks like they didn't want to create another crosswalk across East Blvd. I bet people wear a path straight across and jaywalk until they're forced to just put the path straight through there. That's how new sidewalks always seemed to get created on campus when I was there.
  12. Ha, I didn't pick up on the snark (at least with respect to the time savings quoted), sorry.
  13. Yes, but the 176 ramp work is temporary. I don't see this being as much of a time savings as people think. The other benefits are what could make this project worth it, so I hope people are right about those.
  14. It's hard to tell from the video, but I believe the southern path is the one that curves towards CMA and the northern path does continue straight. I could be wrong, though.
  15. Nobody should take 490/Woodland/E. 55 to University Circle. It is much easier, especially with the new Innerbelt bridge done, to go over the bridge and get off at Chester or Carnegie. I make this drive often during rush hour and it moves pretty well most of the time.
  16. I know this was not the point of your reply, but I'm curious where you got this time savings. I think it exemplifies the unrealistic expectations people have for this road. Even if it were a limited access highway, it wouldn't save 12 minutes coming from the airport via I-71 or west side via I-90. Google Maps says it is 6.1 miles and 13 minutes to take the Innerbelt to Chester to Euclid to UH. Taking I-490 to the Opportunity Corridor will be 5.9 miles, only 2.3 of which are freeway. Even if you can traverse the 2.7 miles of the Opportunity Corridor, plus a few busy blocks between the end of the OC and UH in 8 minutes (which is questionable), it would only save 2-3 minutes and 0.2 miles of travel. If you have to stop at a couple lights along the way, the savings is probably neglible or non-existent. If the destination is the Cleveland Clinic main parking garage, Google Maps says the Innerbelt to Chester route is 4.9 miles and 9 minutes. Even in the best case scenario of catching every light on the Opportunity Corridor, it will probably be slightly LONGER to get to the Clinic than just taking Chester.

Hill has been choking from the FT line all playoffs. With that much pressure, I was just happy he made one.
  18. I have the perfect name for this road. South Chester Avenue.
  19. MayDay with the quality shot from his 50 gigapixel camera.
  20. An "upscale" Eat-n-Park. Makes me laugh every time.
  21. I agree. The bigger warehouse style windows and the red brick would be a winner in my book.
  22. This is not new construction. It is a rehab of this building: https://www.google.com/maps/place/2125+Superior+Ave,+Cleveland,+OH+44114/@41.5077281,-81.6777203,3a,75y,298.88h,88.86t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1suPGDpN22dJpkvhgyu-tCmQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x8830fa65132122ed:0x70161ebdf4c88564!8m2!3d41.507912!4d-81.678336 EDIT: Ha, Strap beat me to it by 17 seconds, and with almost the exact same street view angle.
  23. I never knew the original proposal for the Lorain Rd. bridge was to connect to Huron rather than Central/Carnegie.
  24. I'd rather see the blue line tunnel under the intersection, making whether the garage is built or not a moot point. I can't imagine what a mess crossing the rail line diagonally through a major four-way intersection would be. But, you know, capital costs and all that.
  25. That's correct. There is currently nothing blocking a blue line extension.
