Cleveland Heights: Development and News
The Fairmount posted pictures on their Facebook page. They're crazy. https://www.facebook.com/100063792302858/posts/pfbid0LKoEKZmnRLgGXsRNXdQryuZv6x9tqFZyJnK48nWignz8N1J6QmsrUCBHMETTGDGBl/?app=fbl

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
When we got a team back in 1999, I wish we could have gone the Green Bay route. If there's any other team in the NFL that could be owned by its fans, I'd think the Browns would be that team.

For comparison, Cuyahoga County Airport's (CGF) runway is 5502' x 100', and the airport is controlled. Even Lost Nation (LNN) in Willoughby (which is uncontrolled) has larger runways...one which is 5028' x 100' and another which is 4272' x 100'. Lorain County's airport also has a decently sized runway. Ashtabula County's airport is a little far out of Cleveland to be a reliever, but it is "FAA designated ARC C-II design standard, permitted to serve medium-sized corporate jet aircraft", and is known as Northeast Ohio Regional Airport. None of these individually can compare with BKL's parallel runways (6L and 6R), which are 150' wide and can handle large jets. However, I don't know that we need all of that capacity in a reliever airport. CLE is a Class B airport. CAK is a Class C airport. The Class D airports in NEO are BKL, CGF, and YNG.

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
The Ocala, FL MSA includes part of The Villages, FL. I'd assume that has something to do with its growth.

NC with five on the list of highest move-ins, including newly annexed Phoenix. Impressive!

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
They also tried to grow too much too fast I think. They got away from their core market and weren't able to keep a handle on QC. Also, it made them less unique. I used to go quite a bit, but haven't been since they closed the Cleveland Heights location.

They don't care about "traffic" at all. It's just the official excuse they give because they know it's not acceptable to say what they really don't like about going into the city.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Cleveland won't be a rail hub if an intercity line terminated at Hopkins rather than downtown.

Correct, there's a sign for it up on the corner of the building.

Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Not just the AL Central, the Guardians have the best record in the AL, and second best winning percentage in all of baseball (which will be the best in baseball if the Braves lose tonight). The Guardians also have the best run differential in all of baseball, and it's not even close.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
The biggest problem I see with too many parking garages isn't necessarily the garages themselves, especially if they're designed well, but the traffic they cause by encouraging more people to drive rather than consider other options. And the main problem with traffic isn't the traffic itself, but people's intolerance for sitting in a 5 minute backup, which leads us to try and build 7 lane roads. And that's what I see as the real problem. It's why you end up with Crocker Park surrounded by insanely busy ultra-wide roads. Instead of a robust street grid which can spread the traffic around and drivers who accept that at busy times there will be a lot of cars packed onto that street grid, we think that building large arterial highways is the answer. All that does is lead to wider, busier roads that decrease overall density, furthering the problem by forcing people to have to drive further, leading to increased drive times over shorter, yet slower moving, commutes.

If Haslam moves the Browns to Brook Park, he should have to change the team's name to the Brook Park Birds and change their colors. A few years later we'll get a brown and orange expansion team called the Cleveland Browns.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
It bears repeating; the biggest reason we have to overpay for free agents is the 20+ year history of dysfunction that has nothing to do with the weather.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
The Browns were 8-1 at home and 3-5 on the road. Your logic doesn't explain that away. As mentioned, opposing QBs struggled in the games with less than ideal conditions, and a team that can run the ball effectively certainly has an advantage when it's cold and rainy or snowy. I'd hate to see a dome. Part of the fun of going to a game is bundling up and braving the conditions for the two or three home games a year where it's very cold or rainy. Also, the weather is nice for at least half the season, and the bad weather doesn't really hit Cleveland often anymore until the playoffs start. Snow before Christmas seems to be getting to be more rare. The biggest reason we have to overpay for free agents is the 20+ year history of dysfunction that has nothing to do with the weather.

They may not be better with their stars out, but in a way they're more fun to watch, and they're winning, at least for now.

Hudson is a small but nice downtown...other than the lifestyle center they tried to build behind downtown. Chardon isn't bad, either.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
I believe the bar, All Aboard, only occupies the smaller, eastern portion next to the volleyball courts. I'm pretty sure the main part of the building that had been a restaurant and later an event space (Gatsby's when I was growing up and recently Deeker's) is vacant. EDIT: Looking at street view, maybe my memory is failing me. The building seemed much bigger as a kid, so maybe All Aboard is using the whole building, especially since the parking and only entrance is opposite from where the outdoor bar (old platform) and volleyball courts are. I still think a train station could figure out a way to tie in with the bar there.

Plaza Blvd extension would be a good spot for a new station. Also, the old station just east of 615 doesn't seem to be occupied at the moment. Maybe it could be returned to its original purpose.
