Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
I know exactly what you mean. I thought the blue house on the corner had potential as well, but now it's an empty lot. It would have been a nice little stretch of houses on that street, but now the few that remain feel a little out of place with what's going on around them. It's too bad the houses can't be relocated so the entire block could be redeveloped.

11425 Glenwood (which I looked at a couple years back) was purchased last summer (not by CWRU) and is being renovated.

So now when I daily call out MyTwoSense[/member] for getting RNC and Lebron predictions wrong, he'll get a notification? I like it! :P

Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
You mean 3 for 3. MTS was also wrong about the RNC coming to Cleveland. We must keep reminding him of this. (Although I hope he's not wrong here.)

Thanks, I knew I was forgetting a big one. Which is pretty dumb of me considering I was just there last week.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
I don't mind the 9 at all. I think it's simple, not really taking away much from the rest of the building.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
I wouldn't say that. There's plenty of events in Cleveland (Taste of Tremont, Greek Festival, Cleveland Fireworks, Edgewater Live, etc.) that don't have these problems. Also, this weekend was the Cain Park Arts Festival and there were no such problems that I'm aware of. I don't know what it is about certain events that attracts these problems, but it definitely seems like some are lightning rods more than others.

Just like the RNC wasn't going to pick Cleveland, right? Exactly! Keep predicting the other way, you're on fire

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I disagree. I think he will have many dedicated fans here precisely for the reason that it's something you can't find at any other restaurant around Cleveland. Recess in Indianapolis is kind of the same situation (unusual for the market), and it's very popular there.

I wonder if the video board on the left is a distraction to hitters.

South Euclid: Cedar Center
Could that be zoned residential? There are a couple newer houses on the eastern edge of this space already.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
It seems as if a lot if suburbs don't even report crime many years, at least according to City Data. Westlake has nothing reported past 2004 or so, and the last two years they have up were absurdly low (like 1/10th of even the previous years' stats for Westlake).

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
Yeah, as someone who makes the drive from downtown to or through University Circle all the time, I've always thought it's laughable that people think it's a tough drive. I'll bet the Opportunity Corridor takes just as long as taking Carnegie if not longer.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
I suppose it's speculation, but he wrote a pretty scathing article about the CHPD last December when they gave him a redacted police report about a high school student bring robbed.

The Colony is not open for lunch on Mondays, FWIW. EDIT: The article on Channel 5's website makes it sound as if it just happened near the Colony (and possibly unrelated to the restaurant): http://www.newsnet5.com/news/local-news/oh-cuyahoga/shooting-reported-on-lee-road-at-silsby-road-in-cleveland-heights-suspect-at-large EDIT: Cleveland.com is reporting that it was the owner who was shot: http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/06/owner_of_brennans_colony_in_cl.html#incart_m-rpt-1

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I agree that the existing lots should not be considered when planning parking for this building as they will hopefully be developed at some point in the not too distant future. Besides, including ample parking should only lower the demand for the surface parking and help to hurry along their development.

http://www.cleveland.com/opinion/index.ssf/2014/06/four_gun-related_homicides_ove.html This article says: "The four killings -- under investigation by homicide detectives – bring the number of gun-related Cleveland murders in 2014 to 51, said police spokesman Sgt. Ali Pillow." So I'm not sure what numbers are correct. It seems as if all kinds of figures are being thrown about.

Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
I disagree. The station is in a great location to be useful for John Hay and Cleveland School of the Arts to the west as well as CWRU South Campus to the east, as well as being part of a busy bus stop. This is why it's already one of the busier stations.

Sure, to each their own, aesthetic is a personal opinion. One thing you can't argue though is that the contemporary design of MOCA, Uptown and the Med Mart (or whatever it's called) has put Cleveland on the cultural map partly due to their respective designs. That is one thing that developments like Alta House or Avenue District cannot say they've done. Sure, but not every new building should be aiming to be a MOCA.
