Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Based on ClevelandOhio's numbers, the Allegheny Port Authority is budgeted $4.65 per rider they moved, where RTA is budgeted $5.64 per rider they moved (16% more). Regardless of the state not providing enough money, our county sales tax (1%) that goes to RTA may be better than whatever local tax Allegheny has. So I wouldn't say they have an easier funding situation.

Metro Jobs 2007-2012
I was wondering the same thing, especially since there's no way we gained over 20k farm jobs (no, there aren't that many).

KJP, I know we've discussed a similar idea before (and I was in favor of it), but didn't we determine that Superior would have to go pretty far underground and that the incline would have to be too steep to get it to go down far enough between W. 3rd and W. Roadway?- Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I think KJP is saying the opposite. If trains are full and RTA expands service to have half full trains, it costs them money. Even if they expand service and still have full trains, they still lose money, since the increase in ridership doesn't cover the cost of operating more trains. The only way ridership increases help RTA is if they occur with no increase in service as well (or if the ridership increase is massive and corresponds to a small increase in service). As far as POP saving RTA money, I think it'd be interesting to see what percentage of riders are not paying before determining whether it is really saving them money or not.- Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
Huh? That's the idea of an endowment. You use the interest from it, but not the endowment itself.- Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Well, at least the rest of the AL Central sucks, too.- Ways Ohio can become a high growth state.

My thoughts exactly when they pulled him from the starting lineup.- Willoughby, Ohio
It's a suburb, so it benefits from having McMansions surrounding it, although there is a decent sized older neighborhood in between.- Willoughby, Ohio
I did one in 2004. I don't know what happened to the thread. Actually, I don't even know if I have the pictures anymore. Ink's thread covers the downtown commercial strip better, but I did also take some pics of some of the surrounding housing.- Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I didn't know that. Now if only we could have every special event go until 2:30 am we'd be in business! :)- Cleveland: Little Italy: Development and News
That was my thought exactly, especially when someone above mentioned an "art cinema house" (which is what the Cinematheque is.)- Ann Arbor?
Ann Arbor almost feels like it has two separate small "downtowns". One centers around State St. by the campus and the other centers on Main St. The restaurants and shops around Main St. are much more upscale than the ones around the campus. I wouldn't worry about parking a car for a few hours in Ann Arbor. It feels very safe whenever I'm there.- Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
That's fine, as long as it has no effect on the far superior Ohio City Burrito's business.- Hi, I'm wireless
R&R, saying "people have gotten their passwords stolen at a coffee shop" is like saying "people have gotten struck by lightning in their living rooms". There are a trillion things that are much more likely to happen. Stop worrying so much and enjoy your electronic devices.- Hi, I'm wireless
Is the router from TWC? I'm guessing only the cable modem is. Anyway, the router should have multiple wired ports in it (it's rare to have less than 1 in and 4 out) into which the computer can be plugged. However, put any type of wireless security on the router and I can guarantee you you won't have a problem. Also, a different cable modem won't do any good. Once you have the router plugged into the modem, everything else (both wired and wireless) should go through the router.- Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
I hope not. High rises along a wide high speed road don't make for an urban feel. It feels more like a big Crocker Park or something.- ODOT Policy Discussion

I have only been to the Zoup in Solon and I thought it was very average and overpriced. I don't think the new owners will make the place much better as long as it's still a Zoup.- Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
There is a long, long discussion thread about this on one of my foodie boards. Basically, people are split very evenly into two camps - there are no rules posted, so I can reserve a table whenver I want as soon as I enter OR you should get your food first, then wait your turn, otherwise the "flow" is disrupted and people end up standing and waiting. The previous class believes that it's stupid to stand and wait, if you see an empty table, you should grab it. The 2nd group believes it's not right/polite to do that. Unless there are posted rules, it really is every man for himself. I am morally in the 2nd camp, but for practicality's sake, you will see me going in and leaving my coat at a table or making my husband sit there to hold the table while I go get food. You end up standing and waiting too often and wishing people would act differently doesn't give you a seat. Beyond the morals of it, every place should have a rule that you have to get your food before you grab a table for efficiency reasons. Otherwise there are tables sitting empty while people get their food, which is a waste of table space. - Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
