Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
Vivo closed a few years ago. I'm not sure if it was because the lounge wasn't doing well or that they couldn't wait out the Euclid Corridor construction, though.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
I saw it's in Chesterland now (the exurb of Little Italy...Mayfield being the suburb). I don't know anything more about it.

I didn't know that either. From Wikipedia:

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I think Pearl of the Orient and Sun Luck Garden (which I noticed he gave a shout-out to as "elevated Chinese") are the only Chinese restaurants I have been to in NEO where the meat doesn't seem like a mystery.

Favorite City Street Names?
I did a street view right down Euclid Ave. in Naples. Sometimes I forget how terribly ugly most of Florida is.

Favorite City Street Names?
Odd names which cross major interstates: Bridge over the Ohio Turnpike just west of SR 53 (Fremont exit) - Fangboner Rd. Exit 144 on I-75 in Tennessee - Stinking Creek Rd. Ozark High School in Arkansas has the following address: 1631 Hillbilly Drive Ozark, AR 72949

Favorite City Street Names?
Not really a street name, but I like how Cleveland's street suffixes are consistent. Streets go north and south, Avenues go east and west, Roads are diagonals, Courts are east/west alleys, Places are north/south alleys, Drives just kind of do their own thing (like a Sunday Drive), and then my favourite streets in Cleveland, Boulevards, which are reserved for the "showcase roads" such as East Blvd., West Blvd., Lake Shore Blvd., Franklin Blvd., Clifton, Blvd., MLK Blvd., etc. Even the Heights honors the boulevard convention with Forest Hills, Monitcello, Meadowbrook, Washington, Euclid Heights, Fairmount, Shaker, Chagrin, Van Aken, N. Park, S. Park, W. Park, N. Moreland, S. Moreland, Larchmere, Belvoir, and some others.

Pet Peeves!
Never assume that. Especially if you're meeting someone like me. That's what I keep my sweatpants around for! :)

I agree, Hoot. House of Cues was great and Bar Louie is disappointing, but everything else is either a positive or a wash. I think Crop/Taza is a wash for downtown (although Crop was great, downtown could use an ethnic eatery like Taza) and a huge plus for Ohio City, so overall a nice change as well.

Forum Downtime for Update
Rich, I saw in another thread that you updated the forum over the weekend. I have noticed a couple things that are not quite right. The thread lists (for example, http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/board,22.0.html) are not filling 100% width, although the board list (such as the forum Home) are. Also, it seems that Premium Members are identified correctly with the red stars, but they are seeing ads.

Cleveland--Mayfield Rd. from Little Italy to I-271--What's Your Favorite Place?
Haha, I forgot about Q-Zar. Also, there is another Skyline Chili on Ridge Rd. right off of I-480. I used to love Mr. Hero and Rally's (both in SE) back in the day (what was I thinking?), but obviously those are not local establishments. I get my running shoes at Second Sole. Now that I think about it, there's a lot of places I go to right around Mayfield/Richmond (Second Sole, Amy Joy, Dino's Place, Appetite, Tasty Pizza).

Cleveland--Mayfield Rd. from Little Italy to I-271--What's Your Favorite Place?
Arabiatta's in Mayfield Hts and Dino's Place and Appetite near Tasty Pizza If only Biagio's in Eastlake would move to Mayfield Rd., I'd be all set. Amy Joy is good, but it's no Biagio's.

I agree. After experiencing it yesterday, I checked the forum today expecting to find some discussion in that thread, not this one.

Cleveland--Mayfield Rd. from Little Italy to I-271--What's Your Favorite Place?
Tasty Pizza (second best pizza around Cleveland behind Valentino's IMO), Grande's, Alesci's, Phoenix Coffee, the sporting goods place that used to be where Krush is now, Casa Dolce, the hardware store that used to be on the NE corner of Mayfield and Richmond, Mayfield Collision Center (hey, they did a great job on my car when it was a little banged up and it's nice they moved into an old house), Brush High School, the SE library, and probably at least a few more I'm forgetting right now.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
Driving down Mayfield at around 6:45 PM was an absolute mess. Kids everywhere blocking the street near the intersection of Coventry, walking in front of cars, screaming, trying to pick fights, etc. A police officer was arresting one kid who was fighting right back with him. Another police officer was reaching for his gun. A bunch of girls were screaming at the top of their lungs. All this was in the span of about 60 seconds that I was in the area. I sure hope I just happened to go through there at the wrong time and this wasn't the scene continuously from 5:30 until 7 or later. Incidents like this sure are terrible advertising for urban areas and Cleveland in general. Luckily noone from out of town was with us, they may not have wanted to ever come back.

Moving to Cleveland- need apartment/neighborhood advice!
Excellent choice...and don't forget about La Gelateria, some of the best gelato you can get this side of the Atlantic.
