And the whatever else has no taste.

Finally, someone agrees with me! I've been saying the same thing about Chipotle being bland for years and everyone thinks I'm nuts.
  3. I didn't say that he's the sole reason, but he still sucks. None of those other guys produced 4 outs in their first 2 at bats today.
  4. Hey, good news! I needed that after leaving Progressive Field today. :)
  5. Orlando Cabrera is sure sucking it up. I am now fully on the "Replace OCab" bandwagon.

I think you may be a little off, as 1) MySpace hasn't sold yet (they're having difficulty finding buyers) and 2) Murdoch only paid $580MM for it in the first place. Maybe he paid someone a couple billion to take that crap off his hands. :)
  7. I think it's more a fit of rage than a conscious decision to want to kill the guy. If people get a fit of rage and have only their fists, they will punch hard and ruthlessly and that could be very dangerous as well. If they get a fit of rage and have a gun on them, they may pull it out and use it, even if they later regret doing so. The problem with the gun over other types of rage is that it's much more dangerous to innocent bystanders as well (and easier for the person in rage to make a terrible mistake with). Of course, this doesn't apply to more premeditated situations, but that doesn't sound like what this was.
  8. Yeah, nothing at all like TCBY (which I actually used to like). It's the tart yogurt combination with berries on top (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries for me every time) that I like. Hopefully it's as healthy as it seems it would be, and it's very tasty.
  9. Violent crime 'rate'...... big difference. I'm sure that's what he meant. I think it's a surprise to many people that any city has a higher rate than Cleveland itself (other than East Cleveland), especially when you consider that Maple Heights only has 5% of its population below the poverty line.
  10. I've been to both Menchie's and Yogurt Vi (at Legacy). IMO, Yogurt Vi is much better. The toppings were refilled better, seemed fresher, and the yogurt itself was no comparison better at Yogurt Vi. Froyo is all the rage, and for good reason. I can't believe there's not more of these places around Cleveland.
  11. Agree. I work Beachwood. I'd much rather the office be downtown, but it's also much better that I can work for the company in Beachwood than not be able to work for them at all (if they were located in a whole different city).
  12. I find that hard to believe. First, it isn't a reverse commute once you get closer to Akron. Second, although 480 is definitely a pain in the ass because there's about 3 miles of awful traffic, unless something unusual is going on, the times I've had to commute from Ohio City to 271 and Chagrin at around 8 am (via 90/490/77/480/271) it has never taken me over 35 minutes (it's about 25 with no traffic, and you can make it in that time if you leave before 7:30 or so). The only slow part of the trip is 480 between about Granger and Warrensville Center. Also, in the evenings it rarely takes me over 30 min, and usually closer to 25 (for some reason the traffic usually isn't as bad heading eastbound). Yes, it's busy in that stretch, and yes it slows down pretty much every day to a crawl for a little bit, but it really doesn't cost that much time. The traffic around Cleveland is generally not bad at all compared to what most people think of as heavy traffic. Unfortunately, I think this is part of why it's hard to convince more people that we need to upgrade our public transportation system.
  13. (1) City Data must use the FBI numbers. (2) We must either both be good or both be bad at math. :) (3) Interesting that even with all of the non-city residents boosting the city's population when they come to the city for work (as well as people coming to the city for sports, plays, Rock Hall, etc.), Cleveland still has about half the violent crime of Maple Heights. (4) East Cleveland is simply off the charts.
  14. According to City Data, in 2009 it was 13.95, and they based that off a population estimate of 433,000.
  15. Chagrin Falls Park is in Bainbridge Township. But, yeah, it's Bainbridge Township's dirty little secret. If you look closely, though, you'll see that all of Chagrin Falls's violent crime was assaults (11), the "least violent" of the violent crime, usually. They had 0 murders, 0 rapes, and 0 aggravated robberies. This is why, even though their violent crimes/1000 people stats wasn't that low, they were ranked much better in the Safety Ranking (where they presumably weight murders and rapes much worse than assaults). Also of note is that Chagrin Falls Park residents attend Kenston schools. http://www.chagrinvalleytimes.com/NC/0/2271.html
  16. Wow, the offense is really tearing it up tonight. They must be happy I bought tickets for Sunday's game about an hour ago.
  17. That's a very nice route and is all within Cleveland Heights. If you want to do Shaker Heights, that might be a whole other drive. Also, I might add that I'd include as much of Fairmount between the end (at Cedar) and Lee Rd. as you can.
  18. A lot of people take taxi rides that are just as long if not longer.

I know, but I'm just saying that Gordon Square had much better "bones" than anything west of Lake Ave. It would take a near complete rebuild (which was not what was done at Gordon Square) to make this area nice.

I bet no part of Gordon Square ever looked like this, though. Street View from Franklin Street View from Detroit And those look like they've been there a long time (and I doubt they were ever nice). I'm not saying it can't be turned around, but I think there's substantially more work (like complete teardowns and rebuilds) in this area than Gordon Square.

OK, I changed my mind. We actually need more highway patrol! :)

Unfortunately, there's a LOOOONG way to go in making the area along Detroit between Lake Ave. and W. 117th St. a nice and/or safe area. Oh, I don't see that area getting better anytime soon. But I was thinking more along the lake, from Lakewood to Edgewater, to Detroit Shoreway, to Ohio City, then Downtown and Chinatown. I think it'll be tough to make Lake Ave. any better as long as that part of Detroit is so bad. Those streets aren't very long between Lake and Detroit there, and that's the worst part of Detroit (from about W. 81 to W. 91).

They're in the process of extending W. 73rd St. to Edgewater right now. And if you're not in a car there's already a bike path tunnel at the end of W. 65th St.
  25. LOL, yes, I cheated. I copied your list and just modified it a little. Take that as a compliment! EDIT: I mean, what do you mean? I listed Chagrin Falls! I'm waiting for someone with Cleveland Magazine to actually cheat. (I'm assuming that's where the "answers" will be coming from.)
