Next time the site is not working, can you try running the following commands from a command prompt (Start/Run/cmd)? ping urbanohio.com ping 174.36.48.69 I am assuming the first won't work (Request timed out.) and the second will (should list times in ms). If so, the next question would be whether you have access to the system settings on the machine (is it your own machine?) or are you using a shared machine which is likely locked down?

Super Cleveland
Take a look at the Lakewood map I posted, though. It looks as if a sliver of Lakewood extends around the river south of Hilliard to "block" Rocky River from touching Cleveland.

Cleveland International Welcome Center
I'm not so sure the corner of Chester and E. 13th would be the best location to convince people they want to come to Cleveland. :)

Search from the home page. If you search from within a thread, it only searches that thread.

Unfortunately, that map isn't detailed enough to show the part in question (SW corner of Lakewood). It's amazingly difficult to find a good quality map with municipal boundaries.

Wikipedia also shows a part of the Rocky River it claims borders both Rocky River and Cleveland. However, after viewing this map (http://www.lkwdpl.org/lakewoodmap/map.pdf) I was interested in the sliver of Lakewood that extends west of the river. Through the USGS website, I think I verified that it does effectively "block" Rocky River from bordering Cleveland at any point. The borders on the USGS map are hard to see, and some are purple (indicating they changed since 1976 I believe), but I'm pretty sure they confirm this. I'll try to take a screen shot at some point and shade what I believe to be the different cities. (Yes, I know it's map-dorky and pretty much irrelevant, but it interests me as to why the border is this way.)

Well the same could have been said about Fairview Park, but the boundaries still are touching. Another city which contributes to sprawl way more than Rocky River on that list is Middleburg Heights. I am actually not quite sure if Rocky River and Cleveland do actually meet. The Lakewood border is funky around there and actually wraps around the west side of the valley for a bit.

Although there are some sprawly areas of Rocky River, there is a large area older than anything in either Maple Heights or Independence. Maple Heights is the definition of post-WWII sprawl. I don't know how Independence could be considered anything but typical 70s, 80s, 90s sprawl either. Neither has a historic downtown like Rocky River or any significant area of pre-WWII housing. Independence is the least built out of the three. Maple Heights is further from downtown. Transit is better in Rocky River than Maple Heights. I could probably keep going. Rocky River is obviously still a suburb and has contributed to sprawl, but I would definitely say both Independence and Maple Heights are even bigger offenders. I'm double checking the border, but I'm pretty sure Rocky River touches Westpark on the southeast side.

Maple Heights and Independence both contribute to sprawl more than Rocky River. Also, Rocky River does share a border with Cleveland.

Cleveland Area: American Greetings HQ relocation?
One positive for the city of Cleveland of them moving to Chagrin Highlands is that they'd get 50% of the local income taxes paid through the JEDD, correct? That would be more than the 0% they get now.

And that they'll move into Chicago proper but not Cleveland proper.

We were using a dedicated server for a year or so (2007-08ish) but have been using a VDS for almost two years if I remember correctly. The VDS is far more powerful than the level of dedicated server we would be able to lease, its also very scaleable if needed. Also, only our domain was purchased through godaddy. Our site and DNS is not hosted with godaddy. That's good. I'm still wary of VDS since the machine itself is still shared, but it is cost effective and certainly better than the cheap shared hosting plans. And it's great to hear you're not using GoDaddy for hosting. :)

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
He's talking about the market for condos, not rentals. The market is weak because it's so much harder to get credit. Have you seen the population growth numbers for downtown in the last 20 years? ???

In the rendering it appears as if they moved E. 115th a little so it comes into Euclid a little further east than it currently does, closer to the building next to Mi Pueblo. Is this just a mistake or are they actually moving it east so they can fit more on the north side of Euclid?

Motorola Droid. I doubt it's the phone, though. A couple times I hit about 2.2Mpbs. My friend at work has the HTC Droid Incredible and is seeing the same thing. It's been months since I've seen anything over 750kbps, though. When I'm on Wifi at home, I get ~7.5Mbps (I have an 8Mbps internet connection).

I love how 8 character limits are still around in this day and age. :) Rich, we really need to get a fund together and get a dedicated server for UO. Those GoDaddy shared servers are nothing but trouble. UO fundraising campaign anyone? Or MTS forgoes his Barney's trip for one month? :) PS - The link to the forums woulde be http://174.36.48.69/~urbanohi/forum2/. All links on the forums go back to urbanohio.com it seems, so this is not a usable solution, but it at least should provide some insight into what the problem might be.

VZW in Cleveland has absolutely sucked lately. Believe it or not, this result is one of the better ones I got. A few were down in the 0.3Mb/s range for downloads! Also, I noticed that it is strange that the numbers don't match up exactly to what the app reads. On my phone it said 0.61Mb/s download and 0.45Mb/s upload, and I am a lot further than 50 miles from Columbus. I was getting 1.5Mb/s+ up until about mid-summer and it started getting worse and worse. To make sure it wasn't my phone, I had another guy at work with VZW run speed tests and he was seeing the exact same results (and said he's noticed them being consistently piss poor lately as well).
