Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Speaking of signage, how about that ugly "Check out our retail wine and beer selection" (or whatever it says) cheezy blue on white sign hanging right above the entrance to Light Bistro. Every time I see it I think it's one of those stupid "Pick up some Bud Light for your next Browns tailgate" type signs you'd see at a gas station or something.

Yeah, where did he go? Also, where has KOOW been?

NBA: General News & Discussion
That's basketball, not the NBA. What makes it more painful in the NBA, though, is: (1) too many timeouts are given to each team and (2) the timeouts are too long (so they can show a bunch of commercials).

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
So our left fielder needs to execute in the red zone so we don't have to get into so many face-offs? Got it. I'll try to relay to Byron. The average TOs for an NBA team over the course of a season usually ranges from 11 to 16. I'm not too worried about 14 TOs in the first game.

Jamison was invisible until late in the 4th quarter when he made two important baskets, both on his patented one handed runners while going right. What we need out of him, though, is ti hit the outside jumper. I have been saying for months that I am excited to watch this team play since I anticipated they'd have 5 guys on offense rather than 1.5 (one dribbling for 20 seconds and another just in case he decided to pass with 4 seconds left on the shot clock). I can't wait for Mo to come back. I'd like to see him and Sessions on the floor at the same time sometimes.

...which was named St. Ignatius College at that time (which is why you see that etched in the stone above the main entrance to the school). Also, here is a map of Ohio City from 1850 showing why it's called Franklin Circle: There are actually a couple pieces of roadway from the original circle still in place.

Or maybe being good in bed made him overconfident.

Weather
Well that turned out to be a weak storm. I almost had my boss convinced he should send us all home around 2 before the storm hit (I told him about the tornadoes, hail, and 90 mph wind gusts that we may be seeing) and now I'm being called The Dramatic Weatherman. On the plus side, I feel like I may get an offer to be the Action News chief meteorologist.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I don't necessarily mean that the games will be more exciting, but just that I am personally more excited for the regular season. I think I like rooting for the underdog. I find myself flipping through college football games looking for the unranked team sticking it to the top 10 team.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I agree. I'm actually MORE excited to watch the Cavs this year. The regular season feels more like a challenge than a going-through-the-motions required exercise like the past couple seasons. Besides, I think it'll be fun to (hopefully) watch some real basketball instead of Lebron dribbling the shot clock down to 4 then either scoring or trying one of his "amazing passes".

Jamison. Not enough bang for the buck and he plays the same position as JJ. Hopefully, we can parlay (sp?) his contract and our trade exception into a nice piece. I think we need Jamison's ability to score from the outside. JJ has shown no ability whatsoever to do this. I think a versatile 4 man is more important than a big 4 man on this year's team.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
If he is so religious, swearing on a Bible is a big deal...and has deeper meaning than a tradition. If you believe in the Bible as the word of God, and you swear on it and then lie...u surely go to hell (I think is the belief). I would think you would want someone to swear on something they think is very holy to somehow get them to tell the truth....so why not use what they believe in. I hate this guy. Kasich has repeatedly shown that logic is not one of his strong suits.

What? No. Being part of audience participation/act-along during a Rocky Horror screening does not make one gay. Is this the source of those rumors? Gee whiz... I'm 99.999999% sure David was being sarcastic. :) I verified that by doing a Google search for "Kasich Rocky Horror", which surely would have garnered hundreds of hits if it truly was a career killer for him.

Sorry, but anybody that didn't pick up on the sarcasm in the "children in the knitting mills" comment seriously needs to lighten up and get a sense of humor.

No, they played better in the second half, you have it backwards.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
I'm still sticking with my story that I said back in August: that Danielle (the owner of Room Service) is opening a retail store in that location on East 4th -- in addition to the one she's moving to West 25th. Well, they would be opening a second location then, so I wouldn't say your original statement was accurate.

No, "Pesht" was the nickname for the project proposed for the surface lots between Public Square and the Warehouse District. I am impressed you got to as many local coffee shops as you did. I think that Cleveland has a "better than average" coffee shop scene.

The Flats East Bank (FEB) project (which is awaiting financing, there is an entire thread on it here) is what the empty area with piles of dirt is. There used to be many more older buildings there (that housed the famous/infamous Flats East Bank of the old days that were so well known) which were torn down to make way for this project.

I'll be both at the game and the Alumni Tailgate. Unfortunately I'm not sure if the Alumni Tailgate will have unlimited Great Lakes Beer included this game, though, since it was called a "Family Friendly Alumni Tailgate" this time. :drunk:
