Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
It'd be sweet if they made the banks old style german architecture. like how new orleans has the french quarters. it be sweet to have the german heritage brought out. obviously octoberfest would be huge there, but it would add a unique feature thats for sure. but anyways, i'm so excited something's on its way!

County, City Differ On Banks Project Timetable POSTED: 8:24 pm EDT September 19, 2007 UPDATED: 8:26 pm EDT September 19, 2007 CINCINNATI -- Supporters of the long-delayed Banks riverfront development have made a push to move the project to its next phase before the end of the month. Those efforts have been met with a plan to derail any agreement, county commissioner Todd Portune said. “There are too many signs that are emerging that suggest a movement may be growing to kill the development,” Portune said... source: www.wlwt.com

Cincinnati: Downtown: Adams Landing
Louisville is no where near Dubai. Let me just state some dubai facts...they are building a 3.89 billion dollar metro light rail system, dubai is currently building a 123 story skyscraper that will be 2300 feet, the dubai mall they are building will be equivalent to the size of 50 soccer fields put together, they have proposed to build now a 200 story building called the al burj, they have proposed to build a 108 story building as well as 107 story building, they are currently constructing 7 buildings over 60 stories tall and have many more around that height already built, they have an underwater hotel on a manmade island. Thats only the tip of the iceburg...And how does this compare with louisville or any city for that matter? and dubai is BOOMING with tourism for good reason.

Public parks at Banks shrinking BY JON NEWBERRY | [email protected] E-mail | Print | digg us! | del.icio.us! The new plan for the Banks calls for scaling back the northern portions of its riverfront park, but Cincinnati Parks officials say their plan for the park remains intact and otherwise independent of the larger Banks deal.- Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square

Wow, no doubt. Jake couldn't make the point any clearer. Anything the size of Key Tower would be a huge mistake. I to would rather two 600-700 footers than anything 800+ It would take at minimal 3 800+ ft. skyscrapers in downtown Cincy's skyline to balance everything out and seeing how it is hard enough to get even one, I agree that perhaps we should just stick to the 700 footers. Maybe over time though the city can slowly but surely inch its way up. We'll leave it up to Northern Kentucky to keep coming up with Millenium monument projects that start off 1000 feet and end up 30- Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
now it looks like the claim is unfounded. how does his name even get mentioned in all this?- Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
Wow, no doubt. Jake couldn't make the point any clearer. Anything the size of Key Tower would be a huge mistake. I to would rather two 600-700 footers than anything 800+ Ya true, it would look weird. but maybe this is the start of 10 900+ foot buildings being built in a pyramid fashion across the skyline, ha...but ya, the middle looks ok, but still out of place. but i still wouldn't hate a really tall building!- Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
can you believe they are building that skyscraper in dubai thats going to be 200 stories and 1200 meters ? unreal. can you put that building in our skyline in that picture for the hell of it jmecklonberg? http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?8978577- Cincinnati Bengals Discussion

uilders Going Green, Saving Green POSTED: 6:21 pm EDT June 12, 2007 UPDATED: 6:46 pm EDT June 12, 2007 Email This Story | Print This Story Sign Up for Breaking News Alerts CINCINNATI -- A planned condominium project serves as a good example of how many Tri-state builders are saving some green by going green. The Edge, a $36 million renovation of an old warehouse on downtown’s eastern edge, will receive a tax abatement for using recycled materials and other environmentally friendly measures. “It is old and ugly but there's no other place like it in the city, (with) the natural light, the exposed concrete (and) the peeling paint,” said Billy Bohl, who’s buying two units. “It's not just a drywall box.” Buyers like Bohl will save money on real estate taxes under a new city program, which hopes to attract more environmentally friendly projects such as The Edge. “When you go green there is an enormous cost in the beginning, the upfront costs, (but) with the tax abatement, it helps to offset some of those costs,” said City Councilwoman Laketa Cole. Units will range in price from $165,000 to $1.4 million for a penthouse, and average price will run around $300,000. “There's a lot of energy, a lot of excitement in the Cincinnati area, (with) a lot of investment and this is a fantastic investment in the city,” Bohl said. While this project may be one of this first of its kind in the city, it won’t be the last. Single-family homes will soon be built in Northside, Mount Lookout and Hyde Park as part of the environmental design program.- Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
yes, it doesn't have to be massive, just something that stands out. I think were all in agreement here. we want something that fits in the skyline, but that also puts an exclamation point on the progress that cincinnati is making. Something that when the bengals play on monday night, people see on tv all over the country and go "wow, Cincinnati looks great"- Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
True but they will talk about the finished skyscraper if it is done well and stands out- Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
gotta disagree. I think cleveland has a pretty good skyline. I agree we have the best in the state of ohio, but not many people know about it across the us because we have no identifiable major skyscraper. a nice skyscraper landmark would make a statement to the people in the US that Cincinnati is on the up and up for the first time in 50 years. It'd be nice for the media, local and national, to talk about the city of cincinnati without using the words crime, racism, or riots- Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
I agree. Our downtown has HUGE potential and were just starting to tap into it. If they end up building the tallest in ohio, then i nominate UncleRando to jump in the Ohio River- Cincinnati: Downtown: Queen City Square
its awesome news. I think we'd all be extremely happy if it was the tallest in ohio, but not likely for that to happen at all. they'll probably keep it around the 37-40 story area - Cincinnati: Downtown: Smale Riverfront Park
