Although my brother had a criminal record from something he did a long time ago, he was not a criminal. He worked, took care of his children, helped his friends and family...he was not perfect, but neither are any of the rest of us. You're right; it IS disturbing; this happened at an open, public, busy (even at that time of morning) intersection. More disturbing is the fact that no one is coming forward to report what they saw, other than the people who tried to help him when he was able to drive a couple of blocks down Fulton Road before he had to pull over. I might understand not being able or unwilling to help when the attack happened, but ... the world has become a very uncaring place and it's sad and frustrating.

Dawud was my brother; he was coming home from a nightclub, giving a girl a ride home as a favor to a friend (her ride was too drunk to drive). We still don't know what happened exactly and who did this, but we're hoping something happens soon. If ANYone has any idea or knows anyone who may have been at the Bounce nightclub that night, please have them contact the family or detectives. Until now, I had no idea of the pain caused by a violent, senseless death of a close relative (my brother had been living with me for about 3 months before this happened). Please, the next time you read a 'quick blurb' or paragraph in the PD or see one on the news, take a moment and say a prayer for the family; this could happen to any one of you .. I know, because it happened to me and to my family.
