  1. KeyCorp (KEY, Fortune 500), based in Cleveland, said Monday it has been approved "to bolster its capital position" with $2.5 billion from the Treasury's Capital Purchase Program.
  2. Fifth Third Bancorp (FITB, Fortune 500), based in Cincinnati, said late Sunday that it applied for $3.4 billion from the program, and that it expects "our application will be approved shortly by Treasury."
  3. The highway does backup every rush hour.
  4. I don't think this casino is going to be in the city limits. So it won't get any money from people that don't live in Wilmington.
  5. I would be so so mad if companies are using the bailout to buy other companies so they themselves can survive. That's not what the bailout money was for.

And costs are high because of greed. Business owners want to make as much profit as possible. I think people will rememeber these businesses and not support them when times are good again. Places i already wrote off are Busken Bakery. They want $9.50 for a dozen donuts. UNREAL. I like Larosa pizza. But for a small pizza back in 2005 it cost 4.95 now it's over $7 for a small pizza. Yet in the same time period there is the chinese food place that never went up in price. Then there is BW3. I like their wings also. But the chicken doubled to ridicules prices. I won't be eating there again.
  7. Remember the feds will take part ownership if they do get the bailout. I'm sure some of them banks will not go that route.

One thing that Minnie and Charlotte has going for them is the unity they have with the state, but where in Cincinnati we have 2 and even 3 different states to deal with.
  9. Awesome they are talking about a 16 story and 2 15 story buildings among other things.
  10. That sure is a long ways away.
  11. It took about 7 months but i finally was able to get inside this place. Me and my mom went in looking for some chairs. The way the store is setup, they have you walking through just about every department before you are able to reach the exit. I thought that was awesome, But if you don't like walking you wouldn't like that. lol The miniature(apartments?) are awesome for a single guy. It wouldn't work for a family. A person could spends days in that place because there is just so much to see. Even after 7 months of it being open. It's outer chaos. All lanes were jammed packed with people. Ikea must have hit a gold mine.

Screw Venezuela. I hope we don't get our oil from them anymore. That country is getting on my nerves.
  13. 266,000 works for GM. That's alot of people that may lose homes, lose their cars and in some cases lose their family.
  14. Didn't Norwood take Cincinnati bell jobs from Cincinnati? I think so. So the city of Norwood shouldn't complain. The two just needs to merge already.
  15. Banks are too big. Companies are too big. Jobs are always lost during a merger. Can't these companies that buy up other companies survive on their own???
  16. I like San Diego.
  17. Tolls are the only way this will get done. Unless the feds print more money.
  18. Ford stock dropped 22% today to $2.08. They are DONE.
  19. ^ I saw that whole hearing. Pretty intense stuff. NONE of them would not answer simple yes or no questions.
  20. I live in Silverton. Just outside the city limits of Cincy.
  21. It looks like we all are going to feel this. If unemployment gets to historical levels where would you move to? Would you wait it out where you are now until things improve? It may take 5 years until things start to improve. I would stay here where the cost of living is cheaper than other area's of North America. What will happen to the high cost metro's? Will they move away? What will happen to the fast growing metro's?

I drove though early sept on my way to florida and noticed the missing windows. I heard it will cost more to replace the windows than it cost to build the whole building.
  23. Ouch, now Cincinnati is ahead of last years murder rate. This is nothing like Tijuana thou, where 49 was killed in one week there. So we shouldn't complain too much. It could be worse.
  24. Now is the time to get into the apartment renting business since alot of people will not qualify for mortgages anymore.
