I wonder what would happen to Vegas once gas rise to the 6$-10$ range and airline tickets are so out of reach(fuel) no one but the rich would be able to afford it? '

Maybe they are escaping the high price of the west coast. San Diego has stopped growing all together. But still all them people needs jobs. So Something is opening up there. I'm guessing the construction industry will take a BIG hit with the oversupply of homes. Do those town's have 1000's of small companies employing about 50-100 each? Something will have to give one of these days and it won't be pretty.
  6. ^Isn't San Jose listed Ahead of San Francisco now?

Yes i have. back in 1997. There was nothing 5 miles outside of Vegas then. Of course that has changed.
  8. I wonder why it takes so long to get the urbanized numbers. That is done every 10 years for some reason. Why can't they estimate that?
  9. Metro numbers are not out yet. They are determining if a counties will be added or subtracted to metro area. I think that comes out in the summer.
  10. Butler county was not counted in Cincinnati's MSA up until about 2000.
  11. Our Ohio Metro's have many many more F500 than Las Vegas, but some how this places is able to grow leaps and bounds. It's metro is currently at 2,075,393. Their three F500 are in the entertainment industry(casino's). How can their Casino's out pace Ohio's much more diverse economy?? Is Ohio going after the wrong industries? It really bothers me to look at what Vegas has done the 6-7 years, where it took Cincinnati 30-40 years to do the same thing. I'm talking about job, population etc.
  12. You mean better chance right? Great year by Xavier though. I hope they get the 30 wins.

I have had a PC for year. And every system I've put together myself. I have a quad core 6600(conroe) with 4 gigs. I also have a 8800 gt graphics card and 20 inch lcd monitor. I use windows Vista 64 bit. I have never had any issues. Most software i installed on it worked out of the box. The ones that had problems, they usually have a patch out for it to fix it. Vista just had it's first service pack released a couple of weeks ago. So far so good. No complaints if you use 4 gigs of memory.
  14. I called it.
  15. ^Yeah i was wondering where the additional 70 million is going.
  16. I really think that we can all blame the companies that shut down and moved operations to the south. In some area they moved to area's where they have to pay higher wages to employee's like in some area's of Florida and California. If some of these companies stayed put they would be in better shape than they already are now.
  17. Here is a link that shows the crazy ups and downs the county has done this decade. http://news.cincinnati.com/assets/AB103597320.PDF Something just doesn't seem right.

  19. Lots of questions. What about stay home mom's that never file? What about Residences that use Florida as there home base but live here?
  20. Wait, wasn't the census done in 2000? When the population of the county was 845,303? So they are saying Hamilton County actually gained residence up until last year to 847,368 and now dropped 5k in a single year?
  21. New Census county numbers are out. Hamilton County only lost 0.3% since 2000. 2006 822,596 2007 842,369 I'm sure the count was from the correction of the City of Cincinnati when they challenged it last year. Anyway the CSA is just short of 2.2 million at 2,176,749. The MSA is at 2,133,678.

I think fuel costs will kill most airlines within 10 years. Can't keep raising prices because consumers will find other ways or buy other products.
  23. ^ On that note. Just think of some of these older skyscrapers where it's not easy to see the cracks. I suspect in the next 50-100 years alot of them will start to fall down. Nothing lasts forever except radiation.

Serious, the Tornado was getting more coverage than the people that died in the Crane accident. I hope they change their tune now that 7 people have died in that accident.
