Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion
I think any murder is tragic not just because of an situation. They are going at it tooth and nail in the media. Do i feel any different that someone died in Hyde park than someone that died in Over the Rhine. No i don't. Crime happens anywhere and everywhere. I can't believe this story made the front page.

University of Cincinnati Bearcats Basketball Discussion
It's been more than a week since 9News first reported the contract dispute between UC head basketball coach Bob Huggins and the university's president, Dr. Nancy Zimpher. On Friday, UC great Oscar Robertson told Channel 9's Paula Faris that Huggins-Zimpher relations have gone from bad to none. Nancy Zimpher has a vision for the University of Cincinnati, but Bob Huggins isn't in the picture. On Friday, the president unveiled UC-21, a description of how the university will move forward. One of her goals is to raise academic standards, including entrance exam scores. "It would raise the caliber of students recruited as student athletes as well. All boats will rise," Dr. Zimpher said. But, will the Huggins boat sink? Oscar robertson says the board of trustees, inlcuding chairman Phil Cox, fully support Nancy's handling of Huggins. More at www.wcpo.com/

Warren County growth
These will be the same people that will complain that they can't even back out of their drive way. Most people don't even think of the future. Everyone living in that area now will not be in the same home 30 years from now. Just use the 350 million to pay for their portion of light rail to Kings Island.

unusualfire replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionWhy can't they use eminent domain on all of OTR and then refurbish every single building. That would clear up crime in downtown instantly.

I think i talked about Bethany road before, but i didn't think this was would happen. Six-lane highway plan angers area's residents By Erica Solvig Enquirer staff writer MASON - The idea of turning residential Bethany Road into a six-lane connector between Interstates 71 and 75 has irked residents and turned them into activists. They've formed a small, but growing ad hoc group to fight the concept. And this week they're going door-to-door asking fellow neighbors to join their fight by asking one simple question: Do you think the two-lane entrance to your subdivision should be Warren County's next mini-highway?

Butler County Growth
Ohio is stupid. They should have at least brought it down to Glendale Milford road to hook up with the C/D system there. They could have helped with the bottleneck there as the C/D Comes to an end..

Monroe Casino Issue On Nov. Ballot Reported by: Deb Silverman Last updated: 3/25/2005 - 5:49:38 PM Some who oppose a casino in Monroe might be saying they hit the jackpot. They've gathered enough signatures to get the issue on the November ballot. But the Monroe city manager says the winning side might not have the final say. The board of elections has certified more than 400 signatures, more than double the number needed to get the referendum on the ballot. Those opposed to the casino along I-75 want voters to strike down Monroe city council's proposed agreement with the native american tribe. The agreement gives the city 1.5% of the tribe's electronic gaming revenue. The money would be shared with Butler and Warren counties and schools. City manager Bill Brock says fighting the proposal is a gamble. He says the state and federal government can approve the project, and if the city doesn't have the agreement, Monroe could be left out of the deal entirely, and be out millions of dollars.
