  1. Bombshell! I told you metro should step up and they did. http://www.wlwt.com/news/local-news/cincinnati/sorta-says-it-will-pay-streetcar-operating-costs/-/13549970/23527660/-/d62gdl/-/index.html?utm_source=hootsuite&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_campaign=wlwt5&utm_source=hootsuite&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=wlwt
  2. Have they even consulted OKI? I'm sure they know more about transportation than Cranley would even know.
  3. Is that on the original application to get the federal grants? If I was the feds I would be pissed. Causing them to do extra work and researching.
  4. Yeah it's way too saturated. Same thing with malls. At this point I don't think Ohio knows what the right mix is for slow growing metro's.
  5. Why would the feds approve funds for the MLK interchange if this project is cancelled? The region has bad air quality. You would go from canceling a project that would reduce air quality to one that induces it.
  6. They literally got hit to the jaw. I would hope a fine is leveled on that dude. The bad start did them in. 2 more games to go. I think the Bengals can forget about the 2nd seed unless Baltimore beats the at their place.
  7. 6000 already wow. They just need to get them verified.
  8. It should be merged with metro. They know transportation better than the city. It already has a dedicated income source and you can use regular metro drivers to run the streetcar instead of hiring new workers to operate it.
  9. It has to be a ploy. The area does not have that many donors when you consider. Music hall needs a overhaul, Union terminal needs an overhaul, the Western hills viaduct needs an overhaul. Why could they not fund police in this way? Im sorry to say but they will not get the commitment they wanted by next week. The city better hope two members change their votes.
  10. I think jjakucyk means once we get all the signatures and place it on the ballot. It will be too late since the feds would have pulled the 45 million federal grant Dec 19th 2013. If it is on the ballot and it passes the city will need to fund the additional 45 million without the help from the feds. Potentially the city will be in a HUGE bind with covering an additional 45 million offset if Cranley vetos Dec 18th.
  11. If I was the feds I would pull the money now because they are playing around.
  12. "According to a memo Tuesday from Acting City Manager Scott Stiles to City Council members, KPMG is being directed to determine: - Total cost to terminate the streetcar project. - Total cost to complete the current phase of the project. - Streetcar operating and maintenance costs for 30 years." http://cincinnati.com/blogs/politics/2013/12/10/no-deal-yet-to-start-streetcar-analysis/
  13. I said all along. Another airport would actually save alot of money on the Brent Spence. Although a new airport would cost 15 billion.
  14. Can the streetcar be merged with metro?

  16. ^ and Paycor.
  17. Yeah i think this is streetcar related. Winburn is so worried about the city wasting $150,000 on salt and wants to have an investigation, yet wants to flush $100m down the same drain. http://www.wlwt.com/news/local-news/cincinnati/winburn-city-hid-2000ton-road-salt-mistake/-/13549970/23395002/-/o6461kz/-/index.html?showAds=0&utm_source=Hootsuite&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_campaign=wlwt5
  18. Good win today. Dang NE. I guess they had to have a call go their way sometime.
  19. unusualfire replied to a post in a topic in Roads & Biking
    Portman wants the streetcar money.
  20. Why would he order a $250,000 audit and then ignore the findings??? 5 posts? I think you are a troll.
  21. ^ Where did I mention the mayor? Didn't someone say someone made threats about a politician?
  22. Because this is not normal. Follow the money. $100m is alot of money to throw away especially taxpayers money. One red flag is not accepting non taxpayer money to help fund construction for a week.
  23. I wonder if the FBI is looking into things.

  25. The area is insane. You can literally see the prison barbed wire fence as you pull in or out of the place.
