Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
That kinda stuff shows more often than not. Just read the newspaper comments and letters. All though it's a very small sampling of the metro. It does show the disconnect some people have. Furthermore it shows how many trolls there are on the news websites.

Is the Banks only residential, bars and restaurants? Where is the retail?

I agree this company should not be given the grant and loan but no real reason to be so mad when there are more important issues around and the looming $150 million for repairs to Union Terminal, $160 million in repairs to Music Hall. A looming 3 billion dollars in repairs for the sewer system. 2.5+ billion to replace the Brent Spence. Yet you pick on a small small tiny business.

Ram32 do you actually think this is the first grant that the city has ever given out? The grant is for construction and stationary inside the restaurant that can be reused.

The city should just annex Columbia twp. Then maybe the Kennedy Connector will be done. Edit. It looks like it starts this spring. http://communitypress.cincinnati.com/article/C2/20111202/NEWS/312020002/Kennedy-Connector-project-moves-forward

Why would they need to go to Portland when one is already in place in there HQ city Charlotte? This is from the Tampa streetcar. Their utility relocation cost $9.6 million. "Utility Relocation Utility relocation is a major cost and construction disruption impact. Water, sewer and other utilities are modernized and relocated along with rail transit construction for a wide variety of reasons. This helps to minimize disruptions to streetcar service once it begins operations and it minimizes corrosive impacts of “stray currents” on underground utilities. If the utilities in downtown must be upgraded to support more intense new development some of these costs move from relocation costs to modernization costs. They still must be funded, but they benefit more than just the streetcar project" http://www.kimley-horn.com/Projects/fasttrackfresnocounty/images/Fresno_Appendix_B.pdf

Well honestly. Mahogany it's self is not in debt. All they need to do is go incorporated. Then no past dealing would come to play since Mahogany itself would be it's own entity. The owner of prior businesses could have been an LCC or sole proprietor which is what the enquirer has shown. Too many legal issues to even go into. Not my expertise.

Money is money how ever you break it down. It seems most people don't want anything to succeed in this city. Everything minority owned is put under a microscope.

50% of the tax break breaks given to companies in the city never came true. So tax payers lost millions. How is this different?

Home Emporium. Im not sure why they never got anything into the old Kmart building. It's been vacant 15 years it seems. That stretch has been suffering. I was shocked when the KFC closed. There was a bank in the old Kmart parking lot as well and it closed only being there less than a year.

I think Heavy rail needs to run down the medians of the interstates. Light rail or electric buses can feed hubs along the interstate.
