The Illinois senate voted down a $325 million dollar package. Ohio don't need to vote on such things? http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-biz-1204-cme-sears-20111204,0,918517.story
  2. If that's true about John Barret and Western Southern. They maybe the next to seek incentives to stay. Western Southern wanted to buy the louis inn in Downtown Cincinnati. They wanted to develop that part of downtown. All though they did help build the new tallest it has to be sour grapes with them with the city and state.

Well Ohio has had a decades worth of incentives that didn't do any good for the state. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jdLLK1me5zOXU4hKgsSDuJBf-NeQ?docId=6827c1113568424ebb7225e7400c6b79

You have to wonder why Sears haven't accepted it yet. 6000 is alot of people to move. Has that many ever happen before ever? They might have been better off giving that incentive to Ford to build another volt plant here.
  5. Are you saying corruption maybe involved? Steering development to a certain part of the state at the expense of others?

I think Illinois knows more about Sears than Ohio does. That's why they will not match the incentive.

Let say they move to Dublin. How are they suppose to absorb 3000 students, which 6200 jobs should bring without the needed tax money to build another school or two????

I could have understood 100 million. But 400 million. Come on. That leaves no room to offer other companies incentives.

Another thing is that Ohio other metros will be pissed that they are not allowed to offer another companies 400 million in incentives. If i sound bitter i am.

^^ Listen communities are already hurting. This is less taxes for Ohio to collect. 400 million worth of it is a WHOLE lot of taxes. No matter if it's spread over 20 years.

  15. If Ohio had matched NC. All the problems he had talked about would have still existed.
  16. OMG what a risky move. This company can go down anytime. Im glad Ohio didn't put more effort into it. They are one monsoon away from Bankruptcy again.
  17. Isn't 22.7 million puny for a 3 billion dollar company??
  18. I doubt that. There is no other way for the public to get from concourse to concourse.

  20. http://money.cnn.com/2011/11/29/markets/bofa_stock/index.htm?iid=Popular They still too big to fail?
  21. Kasich should offer incentives to companies already here in Ohio, for them to bring more manufacturing facilities to the state.
  22. All about jobs. If weather had anything to do with it. Ohio wouldn't be as big as it is now. Charlotte has been bleeding jobs the last few years.
  23. ^OH really? So how did they get to those places around the world before?
  24. Chiquita is no longer a F500 company. Is this move suppose to somehow regain that??
  25. ^ Well i knew that. Just the completion date was wrong. 2023 instead of 2015.
