Cincinnati: Eastern Corridor
No need to worry about it.It won't be on the ballot unless they come up with 2000 more signatures by the 10th. Even after the big signing event over the weekend they still couldn't get enough. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20110802/NEWS0108/108030332

Cincinnati: Eastern Corridor
They don't need to make them full interchanges. This build a simple overpass over the existing roads like Madison Rd. I have seen it done in places like Fort Meyers, Fl. This is one of them. http://www.aaroads.com/southeast/florida800/cr-867a_sb_at_cr-884.jpg Access is still maintained by one way roads. Although some area's are quite narrow like where the OLD BMV building is located across from the Penn station.

They are done. unless they win the next 8 in a row. Hell they have not won 2 in a row for a month. Very disappointing season. Bruce is a joke. Gomes is a joke. Why is even Rolen playing? A clean up hitter with 5 hrs????? Daily lineup changes. wow what a mess.

US Economy: News & Discussion
So who's buying them? There is a massive supply yet they still build? I don't understand. http://money.cnn.com/2011/07/19/news/economy/housing/index.htm?hpt=hp_t2#disqus_thread NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- New home construction ticked higher in June, the government said Tuesday, as two key measures topped expectations. Housing starts, the number of new homes being built, rose 14.6% in June to an annual rate of 629,000 units, up from a revised 549,000 in May, the Commerce Department said. That's the highest level since January, when 636,000 housing starts were reported. Economists had expected an annual rate 570,000 units, according to consensus estimates from Briefing.com. The report also said there were 624,000 building permits issued in June, 2.5% above the revised May rate of 609,000. Building permits were forecast to have remained steady at an annual rate of 609,000 units.

Mayor Mallory reacts to Chabot letter questioning streetcar http://www.fox19.com/story/15084708/chabots-streetcar-letter CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The streetcar debate continues in the Queen City and on Capitol Hill following Representative Steve Chabot's letter to the transportation secretary. In the letter Chabot questions: "Would Cincinnati have been awarded this Urban Circulator Grant if the current streetcar plan were the one originally proposed?" "I'm just trying to make sure that our tax dollars are spent in compliance with the law," Representative Chabot said. When Chabot wrote the letter to transportation secretary, he says it was not about asking to get the federal streetcar money back. "No, not necessarily," he said. "It's critical, however, that we make sure every dollar that's spent is spent as it was intended." While some question whether the letter could be another road block in the construction of the project, Mayor Mallory is not concerned. "Oh not at all," Mallory said. "I find it to be comical." Mallory says he is confident the revised project is still right on track.

Paid to sprawl.
http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2011/07/08/business-us-ohio-business-sprawl-ohio_8555279.html Associated Press Businesses net millions moving within Ohio metros By JoANNE VIVIANO , 07.08.11, 09:44 AM EDT COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Relocations that netted small- and medium-sized businesses at least $39 million in property tax breaks to move around within the Cleveland and Cincinnati regions largely sent jobs from areas of poverty into more affluent communities, according to a study released Thursday. In "Paid to Sprawl: Subsidized Job Flight from Cleveland and Cincinnati," the Washington-based Good Jobs First nonprofit research center reviewed business relocations from 1995 to 2010 in the multi-county regions, finding data on 164 moves that involved an estimated 14,500 workers.

Now they get to stare at a rusted tower..lol Ok Florida just approved a 61 mile 1.2 billion dollar commuter rail in the Orlando area. It's expected to have 4300 riders. The Cincinnati streetcar will have around the same ridership costing 12 times less. Ohio is just so out of touch.

They should use the inside shoulder for a temporary extra lane on I-71 in preparation for this project. All that traffic has to go somewhere.

Im not sure why they didn't pick a SPUI for this location. I heard it take up less room.

Sears / Kmart News
Maybe this was one of the reasons why Western Southern is trying to push the Anna Louise Inn out of downtown. Not sure if they could build a tower fast enough, unless they take up space in different building until the main building is built. All speculation at this point.

Sears / Kmart News
A new tower would have to be built where it chooses to relocate. I don't think there is 1M SF of space under one building in any of Ohio's downtowns. The next question is. Who would take the risk of building a tower if the company ends up leaving again after their incentives have ended?

US Economy: News & Discussion
http://money.cnn.com/2011/06/05/news/economy/economic_stimulus/index.htm NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Congress will not be riding to the rescue. Economic indicators are pointing to slower growth. More Americans are looking for jobs, and the housing market is in a confirmed double dip. In another time and place, lawmakers might have responded with economic stimulus measures to get the country back on track. This time around, it's not in the cards. Having spent the majority of the current legislative session operating at a truly glacial pace, Congress is sitting on the sidelines, waiting to see how the debate over the debt ceiling pans out. "I am not sure you could even get the votes [for a stimulus package] if it was clear we were headed for a depression," said Norman Ornstein, a resident scholar at the conservative American Enterprise Institute. To be fair, lawmakers have tried quite a few tactics to help the economy since 2008. Banks were bailed out, the auto industry was rescued and unemployment benefits were extended. Congress passed a gigantic stimulus package that included tax breaks and money for infrastructure projects.
