  1. I'm so glad I'm getting to witness the resurgence of downtown Dayton firsthand these past few years after having to suffer through the dark days of the 80s and 90s. I'm also glad to see that the renewed interest in transformative urban projects doesn't end at the borders of downtown as evidenced by all the great things currently going on in the Wright-Dunbar district.
  2. Bootleg Bagels to open bakery on Wayne Avenue in Dayton Customers can expect an expanded selection of baked goods, hot and cold sandwiches, coffee, and other drinks. By Natalie Jones Bootleg Bagels, a bakery brand based in Yellow Springs, is planning to open a brick-and-mortar spot in Dayton on Wayne Avenue this fall. It will be located at 735 Wayne Ave. next to MADE Studio & Shop. “I’ve been looking for a place for a couple years now, and some things just fell through. Some things weren’t a match, and this place really felt good,” said Owner Benjamin Bullock. “Wayne Avenue is really seeming to be on an uptick — especially with restaurants.” Bootleg Bagels - Dayton Daily News
  3. Wayne Avenue is quickly becoming the "hip" place to open a new business/restaurant in this part of Dayton. I wonder if there is something they could do to better connect the Oregon District portion of Wayne Ave to the South Park portion which is currently seperated by US 35. MADE ceramic art studio moving to larger Dayton space New 8,000-square-foot studio is nearly seven times bigger than current building. When Sarah Richard opened MADE, a ceramic art studio in Dayton’s St. Anne’s Hill neighborhood, she realized pretty quickly that they would run out of space. After almost three years at 1619 E. Fifth St., she’s preparing to make a move to 735 Wayne Ave. — a space that’s nearly seven times bigger than her current building.
  4. Maumee has two Fortune 500 companies while the entire Dayton metro area can't even come up with one Fortune 1000 company. ☹️
  5. The last time I was in Cleveland, I actually took the bus from downtown to Independence just to go to that McDonald's. 😄
  6. Always happy to see any kind of improvement to downtown Dayton, but it's a shame that it takes a visit from foreign dignitaries for these types of improvements to happen.
  7. I'm so excited about all the improvements happening in this part of downtown with the Centre City Building mixed use project, the convention center rehab, and potentially a new police station.
  8. The address in the article is wrong. The Waffle House will be at 9505 Dayton Lebanon Pike which is in the City of Centerville while 9555 Dayton Lebanon Pike is in Warren County.
  9. With all this new development happening, does the RTA have any plans to add bus service to the Scranton Peninsula?
  10. The Greater Dayton RTA began exclusively using tap to pay in 2021 and it was a big improvement over the cash-based system because it reduced boarding times, eliminated the need for paper transfer tickets, and automatically caps daily and monthly fares so you never have to pay more than a traditional daily or monthly pass.
  11. What amenities will there be in the community center? Will it just be an open gathering space or will they have things like a business center (computers, printers, workspace, etc.) for residents to use?

They could build off of the Great Miami Riverway program. https://www.greatmiamiriverway.com/
  13. This might have been posted already, but here it is just in case it hasn't. Cincinnati Connector Survey
  14. As a person whose first visit to Cleveland wasn't until 2003, it's strange to see the riverfront without the Waterfront Line. I wonder how far along the construction of Key Tower was at the time these pictures were taken.
  15. Downtown Troy is already pretty filled in with a great mix of restaurants, stores, and professional offices, so this will just make a great downtown even better.
  16. While Xenia Avenue is currently only known for crime and vacant house fires, it has tons of potential. Hopefully, some of the progress seen in South Park and Walnut Hills will spill over into the Twin Towers neighborhood.
  17. New Gettysburg Grocery opens today in southwest Dayton A new full-service grocery store in southwest Dayton has a soft opening today and launches normal operations on Monday. Gettysburg Grocery, GGs for short, is located at 811 S. Gettysburg Ave., which was once the former Carlson Elementary School site. Dayton Daily News
  18. "Incredible opportunity to build on the Streetcar route near Washington Park in Over the Rhine!" I love that the first thing they mention as an asset of the property is that it's on the streetcar route!
  19. I hope Gem City Market is still around when this project is completed. 🤞
  20. Even as an adult, I still love going to the Boonshoft.

What's the timeline for this project?

I completely understand why this family moved out of state, but it sadly reduces the number of voters/advocates in Ohio to fight back against anti-LGBT politicians. I'm sure the GOP isn't shedding any tears over this since having liberals concentrated in just a few states plays into their electoral college advantage.
  23. I live off of Brown Street and I'm not sure if we need another coffee house in this area, but it would be nice to have a company come in and clean up that eyesore of a building.
  24. I can't wait to see the new skyscraper and skyline in person next month!
