Ohio State or Michigan football
The record is pretty much even if you just look at the past 50 years (or something like that). The reason the overall record is so heavily in Michigan's favor is because they won almost all the OSUvUM games at the turn of the (20th) century.

Metro Columbus: Road & Highway News
^ you might feel remorse if you spoke to Popeye in person. He's a real nice, down-home, overalls wearing, ex-farmer who seems like the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off your back. It was uncomfortable how nice he was to us considering what we were on his property to do.

Metro Columbus: Road & Highway News
I feel sorry for ol' Popeye. He was real nice to us when we had to set our concrete monuments on his golf course. He even let us borrow his tractor to get to a hard-to-reach part of his neighbor's property. It seemed like a pretty nice golf course with an impressive club house.

What do 32% of Bush Supporters think of the other 60% of Americans? *VIDEO*
^Sorry man, but the "sloganeering" on the left pales in comparison to the right. Cut and Run, Blame Game, Flip-Flop, Sanctity of Marriage, Tax and Spend Liberals, WMD's, Compassionate Conservatism, Uniter, not a divider, and all the other talking points they release to the media to coordinate their message. Karl Rove started his career in advertising and is a genius at creating these kinds of slogans. It kills me how the Conservatives have been in control of Congress since 1995, the White House since 2001, and now the Supreme Court, yet they still find a way to convince the American people that it's the "tax and spend" Liberals who they should blame for their lotten lives. What more do they want? Yes we Liberals are pissed off at the current administration and feel the need to be bullish with our opinions, but the conservatives have all the power so no need to get your panties in a bunch.

Miscellaneous Ohio Political News
It amazes me how little we care about the democratic process in this country. Because of past indescretions, by both parties, most people have become appathetic about the voting process period and those of us who do vote don't raise hell if we think there might be even the slightest chance our vote wasn't counted properly. Our vote is the most important tool we have in our democracy, yet we're more concerned about who's going to win the World Series then the integrity of our vote.

Does first world capitalism require exploitation of others?
^Unfortunately you're right. I guess the only thing you can do is to fight for a "fair" system that gives people an equal opportunity to pull themselves out of poverty through talent, cunning, and/or formal education. Whatever happened to our War on Poverty? I wish the next Democratic presidential candidate would bring it up as a "moral" issue that we can't ignore anymore.

Cleveland: Friday night and fog
Seeing the way downtown Cleveland is so well lit up at night got me thinking about my own city's shortcomings.

Does first world capitalism require exploitation of others?
I think India and China's biggest problem is over-population. No matter how many tech support centers you build in Mumbai, it will never be enough to bring a decent standard of living to the 1 billion people in India. Just trying to build the infrastructure to keep up with the population growth has to be tough. If you're wondering if we're taking advantage of developing nations just ask yourself how you can buy clothes or appliances for dirt-cheap prices at Wal-Mart when you consider how much it cost to make, ship, distribute, advertise, and stock said products. Some would argue that we are losing our middle class right here in the United States :speech:

Cleveland: Friday night and fog
Looks about right for a city on Lake Erie. The people who are in charge of downtown Columbus' lighting schemes should be ashamed of themselves. The way downtown buildings are lit-up at night can have a big impact on the "vibrancy" of downtown (and project a more positive image to the general public). I think all the new residents who are moving downtown might appreciate a better nighttime skyline view for their money.

"The Bivouac of the Dead"...Memorial Day Thread for the Dayton VA.
Very impressive! The gravestones in your pics look recent (1999), did you see any real old ones (1800's)?

Metro Columbus: Road & Highway News
^That "artist rendering" was done by a guy in our Indy office. He does all of our before-and-after renderings which we have hanging on the walls of our office. These past two weeks I've been in the field setting the reference monuments for this project and I got to hear first hand how some of the locals hate this project. We had to set some monuments right in the middle of this really nice golf course because ODOT was taking 9 of its 18 holes so to speak. Of course the businesses and residents who live in the area, but aren't directly affected by the project welcome it. If you drive along 161 now it's kind of creepy because of all the downed trees and boarded up houses.
