Congressman Dennis Kucinich
Like Kucinich really thinks he has a chance, against Hillary. Hillary will win every democratic primary (or insure that she wins every primary), she will be announced as the Democratic nomination at the Dems convention next August. Then, she will face off against either Rudy or Mitt in the November elections Expect 0.5% voter turnout for that one.

Republican Roll Call!
People taking responsibility for their own actions IS realistic. But, heavens no!!! Lets blame everybody else for everything!! Okay, I blame you because I have always sucked at mathematics. The black community should continue blaming their self-inflicted problems on "whitey" like race hustlers Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson say to do. Lets let the Jena 6 off the hook even though they did beat a kid into a bloody pulp who had nothing to do with the noose deal. The couple divorcing each other should blame the successful couple because of their marriage falling apart. The kid who has flunked every class should blame the kid who makes all A's for the kid flunking every class's problems. The woman on welfare with 6 kids and struggling to make it should blame the people with children but are good with their finances. I can't believe it, but I actually agree with the 'religious right' on something, but for different reasons. Maybe if people did abstain from sex for some time, half the problems they get into won't occur. No diseases, no unwanted pregnancies, less failed marriages because of the previous. Maybe if people waited until they are financially stable to have children, maybe they won't end up poor. What a concept! You're a very angry man, bry456. Bry456 mad, Bry456 bash, Bry456 crash, must get revenge on world!!"

I think I might be Libertarian as well. Which is who'll vote for in the Presidential election next year since none of the Republicans, maybe Paul, are decent.

Republican Roll Call!
The only way I'd agree with this is if the government makes it illegal to not have a retirement account. There are many Americans that don't do the right thing with their money and won't look out for their own future. If you walked around town and asked random people what a Roth IRA is, 8 out of 10 people probably couldn't define it. Yet they'll say they want privatized social security. The government shouldn't make it illegal. The option is up to the individual. I think people are smart enough to make their on decisions about their money if given the chance. If they screw up thats their problem. With Social Security soon to crash and burn, people better (but should have been already) start saving for themselves instead of waiting for the inefficient government to do it for them.

Republican Roll Call!
I wouldn't say Republican, however, I lean right on economic issues, left on some other things. I'm for privatizing Social Security or setting up more private retirement accounts where individuals can pay money. I agree with Ron Paul on completely eliminating some major federal level departments -- ex. Dept of Homeland Security (State Dept. does many of the same things), Dept of Education,. I think the federal government should only do two things: make laws and insure federal infrastructure (Interstate Highways, etc) is properly funded and maintained. The individual state governments should handle most or all financial matters and funding in their respective states. I would like for the income tax to be eliminated all together. But since that is unlikely, I'm for a flat tax -- 10% pay rate for most incomes; below a poverty rate pay no taxes. I believe corporate welfare should be eliminated and limited for the individual (only for those who are permanently physically disabled). I'm all for private health savings accounts. However, I believe the military budget is bloated and should be cut in half. I think all US occupied military bases in other countries should be closed and the land turned over to those countries' governments. War should be used as a last option. I think the military's job should be to protect the country's border first and foremost and go to war if attacked; no more solving other countries' problems. I think the U.S. should only trade/do commerce with countries and thats it. I believe people should be able to marry whatever gender they choose. I think if a person chooses to have an abortion, no one should tell them they can't do so; No bans on smoking, trans fats, building of fast food restaurants in certain area, etc. The Patriot Act should be repealed. NAFTA, CAFTA should be repealed. I think church and politics shouldn't influence one another. That is all.

Cleveland: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame News & Discussion
I love 3 of those bands, I don't know much Genesis outside-- "She's got to have an Invisible Touch"- Phil Collins era, not Peter Gabriel era. They are my cup of tea! Rush is my absolute favorite. They are in fact prog rock. Not just their 70s output but their 80s-00s output-- Ex: listen to Signals (1982) Grace Under Pressure (1984) or Power Windows (1985) or even Vapor Trail (2002) The chances of the HOF recognizing these bands, Peter Gabriel's solo career, Primus, and/or jam bands is about as likely as all of Africa having a 2nd or 1st world economy by next week.

Metroparks
I have been interested in learning about the metroparks for a while. Where I live (not in OH) they don't have these. I found a website that shows all of them in the state of Ohio: http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/dnap/links/default.htm I'm curious to know, are these parks a huge draw throughout their respective metros, the state and from other states? How are these parks maintained and funded? Are their parks like these in other states? I know Louisville, KY has them.

Cleveland: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame News & Discussion
I always thought the RRHOF was a museum with exhibits talking about the segments of rock 'n roll history and its various changes over time. Even exhibits showcasing a particular band or musician how they add to the extensive history of rock 'n roll. But, instead I'm finding out that the museum seems to more about -- "This the outfit the Beatles wore during the making of Yellow Submarine" or something like that. Its a showcase of outfits and memorabilia only. It doesn't use the memorabilia as a side piece to an exhibit showcasing whoever singer, band, etc. The exhibits that are permanent are great. But, they should add more to that however. They should be more extensive in what they do. Every year when they add people to RROF they should add a permanent exhibit in for each inductee or something. Btw, congragulations to R.E.M, Grandmaster Flash, Patti Smith, Van Halen and The Ronettes -- 2007 RROF inductees.

Forest Park: Forest Fair Mall / Cincinnati Mills Redevelopment
"Cincinnati Mills' location - just five miles from the older, more established Tri-County Mall in Springdale to the east and Northgate Mall in Colerain Township to the west - probably hasn't helped." Well, duh! "What the mall needs, he said, is a collection of big-box retailers that can differentiate the mall from its nearest competitors." I'm sorry, but these don't exist. What they need to do is call it a loss. Its not working. At least they tried, I think. But, it looks like it was doomed from the start. Had this been off I-74 near the OH/IN border, it might have worked. Had been off 1-71/75 or I-275 in KY a good distance away from Florence Mall, it might have worked. But, in the location it was in, it was not going to work.

"There is no human supervision, but an attendant will be on hand to accept cash and explain the system to baffled humans." This quote makes me laugh for some reason.

Kings Island
Hey, thats my home. :x You want to.....internet fight? :-( "Six Flags St. Louis is one of the worst amusement parks I have been to so it wouldn't be hard to take business away from them." How would you improve it and/or what didn't you like?

Columbus Zoo & Aquarium
Now, I want to know. If the zoo was never in Powell, where inside the Columbus city limits would you place it? I would say Franklin Park or Lou Berliner Park.

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
What is the annual attendance for Cleveland Metroparks Zoo? I read somewhere it was 1.2 million. What is the area surrounding the zoo like? This zoo really intrigues me. I want to visit so badly. I hope you Clevelanders are proud of this 168 acre treasure.

Or you could do it yourself. On the upper right hand corner there is a box with a minus inside it, this is right by the date and time. Click on that and it closes the box.

Columbus Zoo & Aquarium
Welcome to urbanohio. Thank you but I have been a member for at least 2 or 3 months. Anyway, back to this MEGAZOO Plan. Ambitiuous. Jack Hanna should be happy. The citizens of the Italian explorer's namesake should be happy to have such a facility.

Columbus Zoo & Aquarium
Okay, what the hell does this have to do with the zoo? :? Someone say something about this plan (the one announced in the Columbus Dispatch article above). Do you like it and why? Do you hate it and why? Are you indifferent about it and why? Something about the MEGAZOO plan.
-
Columbus Zoo & Aquarium
Plans sound pretty good. I would like to visit when its complete. However, it would be nice if this MEGAZOO was within a 5 to 10 mile radius of downtown. Big Zoos in North America (100 acres or larger): San Diego Wild Animal Park-- 2500 acres Toronto Zoo-- 710 acres Minnesota Zoo-- 500 acres Brookfield Zoo -- 215 acres Miami Metro Zoo-- 200+ acres Bronx Zoo-- 200+ acres San Diego Zoo-- 165 acres Cleveland Metropark Zoo-- 100+ acres And others.....? The new Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is supposed to be 250 acres. I hope quantity and quality are good bedfellows. From the list above, I think it just might be.

Famous Ohioans
Has anybody mentioned that comedian named Katt Williams? I think he was born Cincinnati and grew up in Dayton or something like that.
