  1. All, Don't know if this announcement should go here or in City Discussions, but Cleveland's Dept. of ED is hiring-check it...http://www.city.cleveland.oh.us/career_center/newpositions/careerjoblist.html#business (City's Human Resource Posting) Send resumes in...quickly. I work at ED, people interesting in Brownfield Redevelopment, Technology or Small Business, want to work on policy, projects and in City Hall should consider applying.
  2. I double checked it. It is working fine for me.
  3. Does anyone know of any interest in doing a building material reuse retail center in Cleveland? Perhaps expanding the HFH ReStore or starting a center closer to the scope and size of Pittsburgh Construction Junction (http://www.constructionjunction.org/) or numerous others? I am serious, there is potential to start conversation with this and I wanted to see what you all have seen and heard on the streets? Is there interest, is there a market, do we have people that can manage such a center? There's a need just look at our (I work at City Hall) demolishing and ED strategy. Any thoughts would be nice.
  4. It would be great to do lunch or mid-afternoon get together on the 23rd. Let me know the final where and when.
  5. Some insider knowledge... I am moving on to a new position. A posting at http://www.cuyahogacounty.us/hr/JobSeeking/Default1.asp for my job will be up soon (probably 2-3 weeks). But I wanted to let everyone on Urban Ohio know in advance in case someone knows of a good candidate. This is a very challenging job for one of the most respected and successful brownfield programs in the nation. I established and manage the County's brownfield assessment program (we have done 35 projects in 20 months). I am also the fund manager of the County's USEPA Brownfields RLF funds used to cleanup brownfields. You will also be working with other federal, state and local funds dedicated to brownfield assessments and cleanups. People with environmental (i.e., sampling and analysis, IH, understanding exposure pathways), real estate financing (i.e., analyzing pro formas), planning, grant writing and public administration backgrounds should consider the job. If anyone wants to discuss the job with me, I am willing to answer any questions. I, and the County, want to find really good candidates!! By the way, I am not sure if this is the best place to post on this site...
