Dayton. Huffman vignettes
There are indeed historic district maps: here's a PDF That comes from the city's planning department web page. They have some other interesting documents and maps as well. http://www.cityofdayton.org/planning/doc_library.asp

Adobe Illustrator CS2 questions...
What do you mean by the size of the nodes? (I don't know if I'm asking a stupid question here.) If you happen to be drawing straight lines, you can use the line tool and just click once, whereupon you'll get a dialog box with options to set the length and angle of a new line segment. Maybe that's a start... As for the size of the document, you can set its size when you create a new one, or by going to File->Document Setup.

Quite nice! Is this the return of the Summit Street of old?

Urbanohio is adversely affecting my life
I have managed to break free of this place over the last few months. So there is hope! Not that you people don't still own my soul, of course.

ColDayMan is Nice?!?!?
But you'll still be mean to people like me, right?

Hawaii (June & July 2006) Part 2 of 2 (Oahu, Honolulu, Pearl Harbor)

Holy crap, those are stunning! RiverViewer without a baseball cap, though? I don't believe that.

Where you went to school, what do you do?
Guess I never posted my current situation in this thread. It's in the master's program in Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on cartography. Also now indoctrinating students as a TA this year! Regarding a geography degree as mentioned in those posts last night, I'm ashamed to admit that I don't have a good idea of what a geography degree does for you; my own concentration is enough of a bastard child of geography (academically speaking) that I'm not too familiar with a regular geography degree. I could probably find learn something, though. Or maybe I can foist the question onto Magyar; he's more of a straight up geographer. Oh, and I don't think I'd have mentioned business and psychology classes, David... maybe that was just some sweet dream of yours. Oh, and watch out- I bet the pope will fight you for ColDay's mom.

Hawaii (June & July 2006) Part 1 of 2
Awesome! The great variety of landscapes on the Big Island makes it one of the coolest places to me. It was always my family's favorite island when we lived in Hawaii for a couple years.

Let's go back a few years... to Cincinnati's "Big Pig Gig"

Let's go back a few years... to Cincinnati's "Big Pig Gig"
They are doing cows in Madison now. I won't subject you to photos of that, though, because 98% of all cities in the U.S. have done this with cows at one point or another. Clearly the cow lobby is strong. (Well, certainly here in Wisconsin, anyway!)

What got you so damn interested in cities in the first place?
Ah, SimCity. I do enjoy cheating at that game! :-D

The Cincinnati Photo Trivia Thread
Heh... that's okay, at this point I could probably only give a very general description of where it is!

Cincinnati Reds Discussion
^ To be fair, yesterday Howard wasn't batting ahead of the pitcher (with no possibility of a pinch hitter) as he was at the end of that 14-inning game. (Not that I will express an opinion on the decisions; I'm not quite enough of a fan to get into real discussions.)

interesting panoramas
I want to say Photoshop's photomerge thingy will put together panoramas something like that. But I may just be making that up.
