A sunny side trip to Dayton
Very nice! I like the last one especially... it's been a while since I've seen that view with green in it.

Pittsburgh - Full Monty - $5 Cover
I think I'll just second this rather than think up a unique response.

Dayton: Downtown: Arcade District
^ Love that store! Hmm... I'm shopping for a gift, but I can't decide between the "Courage Under Fire" figurine and the Historic Arcade Building with Glass Rotunda!

Aerial photos: Cleveland, Akron, Southern Ohio
^ Yay Rivage! I was ready for it after the "boot shaped part of Ohio" comment, but then I knew you'd have caught it already when I saw that you'd replied here, RiverViewer. Anyway, cool shots! Aerials are always great.

A Well-Rounded Education (Miami, of course)
Interesting theme! As a Map Guy I'll have to vote for the "Globe Grill" as my favorite.

Cincinnati Reds Discussion
I'd be overjoyed if the Reds could win this series with the White Sox. Next week I have to go back to work with a Brewers fan and a White Sox fan... a win over the White Sox would more than make up for the loss to the Brewers in terms of gloating rights! (I was witness to the loss to the Brewers on Monday and may never get to another game in Cincinnati this year!)

Hey, I did say yours was better! :-)

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
Thanks again for that reminder, RiverViewer. I went with my folks to check it out yesterday. Wish I'd checked this thread beforehand... I'd have attempted (but probably failed) to get a shot of her hair in back. The hair is pretty cool and not something I'd really noticed before. She is tough to photograph, but a mini tripod is one of the best things money can buy. :-) I'd have needed a wider lens to get all of her while using the railing to brace the camera, though... so Monte's is better.

What a terrible Columbus meet!
Heh... well, at least some people have picked up on the over-the-top sarcasm. Seriously, it was a good time. No gloomy weather--and not even ColDayMan's death march--can spoil the wonderful neighborhoods of Columbus!

The Official All-Ohio, Urban Ohio Meet: Columbus - Saturday, June 10th
Yeah, Dayton meet! Good Columbus meet, everybody! I'm sorry I hardly said hello to some of you, though... the turnout was too good, I guess. :-) By the way, I think I walked 8 miles by the end of the day. Columbus_girl, where you left us I think the total was around 5.75 miles, if you're wondering.

Cincinnati's Spring Grove Cemetery, June 10th, 2006
A very beautiful cemetery indeed! I'm surprised you hadn't been there before. Thanks for the photos, Mr. RiverViewer!

What a terrible Columbus meet!
First of all, the timing of this meet is (for reasons not worth mentioning) causing me to take more time away from my Wisconsin activities than I would like, and I'd just like to complain about that one last time. (My Wisconsin pals have heard enough of it.) I barely got to speak to most of you at the meet, and rest assured this is because I hate you all. And it was damp and dismal. So here are my crappy pictures of this crapfest. I mean, does this look like good forum meet weather? Even LeVeque can't help us now. God, Columbus is so tacky An elevator on the side... welcome to the 20th Century! THE URBANOHIO COLUMBUS MEET Starring COLDAYMAN as "The World's Worst Tour Guide" and THE POPE as "A chimney" Don't smile at what he says; it will only encourage him! Bricks, how classy Columbus can't even properly tear down a train station in the name of progress, what with all the preservationist hooligans running around taking arches. It's standing right here! Finish the job! Wow, skyscrapers... I'm SOOOO impressed. What an ugly day! That's it, buy your yuppie food... Uh, same deal SOMEBODY had to arrive late, so we all wait while he finishes eating These people again! Short North. Not short enough. Dead fish in this water. Victorian Village? WTF? Victoria is DEAD, people! Rounding the corner... More of this How patriotic. Doesn't look like a mirror to me. By the way, there were dead fish in this one, too! Outta my way, people! Thanks, ColDay, for showing us where people come to die. Ugh. Poor ColDay has to be stuck in this piece of crap. To help fatten all those college students... German Village. We fought them in two world wars for this? What a beautiful building Rhodes Tower is! I don't know Now where the hell did the brick sidewalk go! Be consistent! The Book Loft, which has the nerve to claim the largest selection of jigsaw puzzles in the Midwest, a claim which I can assure you is false. It pales in comparison to my parents' store, Puzzles Plus in Beavercreek. Oh, there's the brick sidewalk. Sheesh. Looks like some kind of SUV. How urban. 3rd Street. Bah. More brick! Evergrey says this place needs more vinyl. Come on, this is 2006! Yeah, we could put some lovely siding on that. So the top of the tower is supposed to be like the houses in German Village? Too bad the rest of the tower is supposed to look like a PILE OF CRAP. Well, looks like the one bit of sidewalk in German Village without deadly undulations. Worth two pictures, apparently. Well, at least this park is decent. Hey, people eat on that! St. Mary's School, eh? Probably lots of indoctrination! FINALLY we're getting a blue sky! Too bad the meet's practically over. Once again The other side of the Book Loft. Bastards. Back in the Short North, I snap a photo while we wait for ColDay's slow ass to arrive where he said to meet him. Meanwhile, the rest of us are being accosted by a pesky incoherent drunk muttering things about Rob's camera. The oldest existing White Castle, according to ColDay. LAME! POS non-functioning arch lights, and as if blue lighting could make that Nationwide shit pretty! All right, these people are getting blurry. Time to get out of this hellhole and back toward Dayton. Good night, Columbus, from a time when I might have said you actually looked nice. It was fun.

Cincinnati Reds Discussion
^ Those corner seats are the ones my cheap family always goes for. Still $5 I think, just like the Top 6 at Riverfront! Cheapest in all of baseball, perhaps? If ever you do go for those, choose the ones on the right field side so that you can actually see the scoreboard.

Cincinnati Reds Discussion
Yay, go Reds! Here's hoping they complete the sweep of the Cards tomorrow! I've been a little more into baseball this season than usual (though still no hardcore fan)... can't wait to get to a Reds game next week sometime.

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
^ Hmm... going to check that out would remove a few hours of bored time when I come home in a week. Thanks for the tip! And I would just like to mention that I have to chuckle every time you use the phrase "holy ass."
