Nice series! Looks like you had some kick-ass seats at the game. In my family we're too cheap for that kind of thing.

Bunch of hippies! :-D Looks like something that would occur around here. Thanks for the pictures! The "I'm for light rail" bumper sticker on that car should be well-received here.

Hello--new and looking for relo advice (Columbus)
^ On that distance note, it's probably also worth mentioning that a commute to Marysville from Westerville (and Worthington to some extent) takes you across that northern section of 270 which is just about the busiest stretch of highway in Ohio. So annoying traffic is a possibility.

The UrbanOhio Cincinnati Meet - SATURDAY!!!
Question for you guys: where are the good (cheap) places to park for an afternoon such as this? Ordinarily I'd just park on the street, but Cincinnati has the nerve to have parking meters operate on Saturdays, and I expect the 2 hour limit at those isn't going to cut it. New Orleans Lady: The Carew Tower is at Fifth and Vine, but it takes up most of the block so you can enter on Vine, Fifth, Race, or Fourth if you want to walk through a bit more mall. Coming from Dayton on 75, you should probably exit on Fifth Street, which will be a left exit. If you follow that for a few blocks you'll be facing Fountain Square, where the street takes a little jog to the right (I'm guessing the square will still look like a construction site). That intersection is where the Carew Tower is- it'll be on your right. Now, where you should actually go depends on the good place to park, but it might help to go by Carew first just so you can see where the meeting place is. In case you haven't yet learned which one the Carew Tower is, it's this one:

Cleveland - next UrbanOhio forum meet will be....
Just to follow up on the interest in this that I expressed a while ago, I don't think I'll make this one. My summer work time is flexible, but there are only so many times I can go back and forth to Ohio. I'll just look forward to meeting some of the Clevelanders at the Columbus meet instead!

Time for a SPRING pictures thread
Sorry to bombard the thread with individual posts, but I keep coming across pictures from my collection. Here's a nice mix of seasons from exactly a year ago: April 24, 2005. (Okay, I realize it's past midnight and technically the 25th now in Ohio, but for the next 13 minutes it's still the 24th in the Central time zone, so screw you all!) Anyway, a late season snowfall:

Hocking Hills: A Taste of What's to Come
Nice picture! But please tell me it's from a while ago and that there aren't still icicles around! That Elite Chrome film is what I use lately for the (more and more) occasional film shot.

Dayton Transit History
I've seen that "Third Rail" page about this before... thanks for researching it! I'd kind of forgotten about it, but I do recall being pretty surprised to learn that there had been a very real look at light rail back then. It's not something you ever hear about. I can't really say much about whether it would have worked or not, but it's certainly an interesting topic.

Time for a SPRING pictures thread
^ Now that you mention it, the street might be named for the Sulphur Spring, since it does head toward it. Somehow I never made that connection in my mind!
