Where do you live?
Mostly I live in this small, windowless grad student office/Croatian Peasant Party headquarters. But I sleep in an apartment. I'm voting for boxcar, though, because of my dream of one day becoming a hobo.

\\\ 2006 Unofficial Forumer of the Year - Vote Now!!! ///
WHAT?? This is an outrage! I'd sooner vote for a communist baby-eater than a Clevelander!

\\\ 2006 Unofficial Forumer of the Year - Vote Now!!! ///
Now you're proposing to spend Ohioans' hard-earned money not only outside the state, but on another continent! We need jobs here, Rando! Meanwhile, RiverViewer is clearly hatching a plot to replace all our jobs with cheap labor in Taiwan. Just look at these recent hits at CincinnatiRoads.com: Ohio first, people!

Mud-slinging? Okay. If elected, UncleRando will raise your taxes, kick your puppies, and eat your babies!

Skylines Combined--Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati =)
Nice work! And "Cinclebus" is probably the third funniest word I've heard today!

What Are You Riding
My bike is some craptastic thing that occasionally gets me to places in between walking and driving distance from home. That is, if it still exists... I last locked it up outside my building in November and keep forgetting about it!

GOOGLE: All Day, All Night, All Nice
Google... I can hardly keep up! My master's thesis research deals with online maps such as Google's (particularly the aerial photos), and as such I wrote a little summary of the current state of such maps. Naturally, the very day after I wrote that, Google added a major new feature! I like Google's traffic thing. Some of the other guys already had traffic, and actually have more (occasionally better) features than Google Maps, but I'm still pretty loyal to Google- it's just a lot easier to use than the competing map sites. Billy, I'm also sad about the loss of hi-res for Dayton! The images they used to have were getting out of date, but at least they weren't lousy satellite images.

Interstate Map...have you seen this?
didn't I say that? just minus the map dork description? Well, yes. The map dork description was kind of a follow-up to your comment!

Interstate Map...have you seen this?
Interesting map for sure. Subway maps are at least sometimes a form of linear cartogram, where the distances are distorted to reflect travel time. In this map there doesn't seem to be any such logic behind the distance distortions, so I guess it remains just "interesting," at least in that regard.

Cincinnati: "A Cold Night of City Photography"
Fantastic! Must have been painful at that temperature, but looks like it was worth it!

CincinnatiRoads.com: UPDATED 02/2007, with OTR!
Neat... I think we need some videos on CincinnatiRoads of RiverViewer singing in the dark! Seicer, I drew that vector map nearly a year ago now, so memory is fuzzy, but I'm sure it took many hours spread over a few days. It was a simple (if tedious) task, though, just tracing over orthophotos from Google Maps.

CincinnatiRoads.com: UPDATED 02/2007, with OTR!
UPDATE! OTR! I've just finished the Flash business for ten new videos of Over-the-Rhine that RiverViewer recorded three months ago. Dig it. Apologies to all for taking that long to finish my side of the deal. My excuses include school and booze (usually both at the same time).

Effin' awesome old color photos (CIN, CLE, COL)
This is the coolest. http://www.uwm.edu/Libraries/digilib/cities/ Just search for Cincinnati, Cleveland, or Columbus... or any number of other cities around the world. A few teaser Cincinnati shots, from 1947 and 1949. These are not the full resolution, by the way. I told a friend that by posting these I would be your new god, so if you want to start worshiping me, that's cool. :-D (Sorry, the proceedings of a Super Bowl party caused me to write that.) (Apologies if this link happens to already have been posted; I miss a lot these days.)

GOOGLE: All Day, All Night, All Nice
The Cincinnati location bugs me, and it's the same on every online map site, it seems. Maybe it's a Navteq thing. Or I suppose it has to do with the 45201 zip code being out there. Not that it offends me or anything (not being from Cincinnati), but it's irritating because 9 times out of 10 if I want to search for just "Cincinnati" I mean downtown. So driving directions, etc. are a pain because you have to actually put a street address or something, and if I just want a quick map, I also need to enter something else into the search.

Assorted Cincinnati, Camera-Testing Style
Oooh, fantastic! When you say "testing," do you mean testing a newly-purchased camera, or some sort of testing-while-shopping deal?
