The Cincinnati Recreation Commission puts on a run every December called the 7 Hills of Cincinnati Run. You start on the east side of town with the first hill being the one on Monastery in Mt. Adams and ends on the Westside with Lehman hill being the last one. Here is a course description and a map. I run marathons and this is definitely comparable to that! http://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/crc/downloads/crc_pdf17505.pdf http://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/crc/downloads/crc_pdf15016.pdf

I did my downtown natti run this morning. I start my run down 4th Street turn north on Central run down 5th turn north on sycamore, run down 6th, north on Central, down on 7th,north on Sycamore, then 8th, 9th, Court same way then back to condo down Central to 4th. Right at 5 miles, and I am within a mile from home the whole time. It is one of my favorites.

  5. From CinWeekly: Help Bring VH1 To Cincinnati's New Fountain Square VH1's Top 20 Countdown: Live in Cincinnati! Mayor Mallory's YP Kitchen Cabinet has collaborated with a number of local, regional and state leaders to extend an invitation to VH1 to tape its popular Top 20 Video Countdown from Cincinnati and our re-energized Fountain Square, in light of the popularity of the 3 Doors Down video, "It's Not My Time," which was shot entirely in Cincinnati (due to the great work of the Film Commission). VH1 President Tom Calderone has shown interest in this as well. But we need your help, and urgently. Please visit the following link on VH1.com to vote for the 3 Doors Down video, which depicts 20 Cincinnati landmarks, including Fountain Square, Government Square, Over-the-Rhine and our majestic Queen City skyline. http://www.vh1.com/shows/series/top_20_countdown/vote.jhtml **This Effort Would Generate Six Hours Of National Publicity In 90 Millions Homes VH1's Top 20 Video Countdown is a two-hour program that airs three times during the week – beginning from 9-11 a.m. Saturdays – and features a dozen mini-remotes during which host Alison Becker touts the different venues from the assigned location of the week. VH1 penetrates 90 million homes. A remote broadcast from Cincinnati would generate six hours of positive national publicity for Cincinnati on VH1. Alison would be able to tape from our new Fountain Square, Government Square, the Freedom Center, restaurants and nightclubs that have sprung up around the square, plus some views overlooking the city. This is a tremendous opportunity to promote our new Fountain Square, our re-energized Downtown! Thanks so much. Please vote early and often!
  6. From DRC newsletter: "OPEN LATER: POT BELLY on Fountain Square . Pot Belly will now be open till 9 pm on Thursdays and Fridays."
  7. Potbelly just recently expanded their hours so feedback does make a difference! XUMelanie, you of all people should know it is 5 o'clock somewhere! :)
  8. I absolutly agree. This area needs to thrive just for the fact it helps the city. The reason I don't dine in KY is because I can't stand the smell of smoke while I eat.
  9. Heard Pacific Moon closed at the Levee....with that gone and Tropicana, I wonder what the future will hold? Is this a trend?

Married Good idea. My hubby and I dated 5 years, both finished school and THEN got married. Nothing like being financially stable when you start off. I have a single twin sister though.....any takers? :) Ha, just kidding!

I need to do a google search to see if they sell pepper spray that attaches to your handlebars with velcro or something. I usually keep it in my bike pocket but it would be nice to have something really accessible.

I always ride with my pepper spray to protect me from dogs.....add that to your list too. :) Oh I am ready for the comments about me being a dog hater. I don't hate dogs. My favorites are the ones on leashes....
  15. Here is Polly Cambell's write up from the Enquirer: Do Downtown is 10 restaurants, $20, June 20, 5-8 p.m. You buy a ticket ahead of time, then bop from one place to the next, trying a special dish they've created for the occasion--and having a drink. Why not--you can walk to all of them. If you get lost, stilkwalkers in tuxedos will tell you where to go. Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse, on the right there, will be offering gumbo (which isn't on their menu, but I bet it will be good) Palomino is doing an asparagus bruschetta, Havana Martini Club will have mini pamatimis. Also, Nicholson's, JeanRo Bistro, BlackFinn, Via Vite, Trattoria Roma, Oceanaire and Boi na Braza. Nice chance to get inside some great restaurants, look around, see if you want to come back. . . .
